Abstract: An air spring assembly, for use on an associated vehicle suspension system having a mounting member and a damping member, includes spaced apart first and second end members. A flexible wall is secured on the first and second end members and defines a spring chamber therebetween. An isolator is supported on and sealingly engages the first end member. The isolator includes and isolator passage sealingly receiving the damping member. The isolator and the first end member at least partially form a first load transmission path such that a damping member load is distributed to the mounting member through the isolator and the first end member. The first end member at least partially forms a second load transmission path such that an air spring load is distributed to the mounting member through the first end member without substantial transmission through the isolator.

  • Patent number: 6215842
Abstract: An x-ray radiation stabilization system is provided including an x-ray tube (20) which emits x-ray radiation (22). The x-ray tube (20) has an anode (52), a cathode (50), and a vacuum envelope (54) which houses the anode (52) and the cathode (50). A high-voltage generator (40) is connected to the x-ray tube (20). It supplies a high-voltage electric potential between the cathode (50) and anode (52) such that an electron beam flows therebetween. The electron beam strikes the anode (52) producing the x-ray radiation (22). A reference radiation detector (60) samples a representative portion of the x-ray radiation (22) emitted by the x-ray tube (20) and generates an error signal in response to an intensity of the sampled x-ray radiation (22). A feedback circuit (80) is connected between the reference radiation detector (60) and the high-voltage generator (40).

  • Patent number: 6101456
Abstract: A control system wherein a reverse characteristic having a reverse input/output relationship to a target input/output characteristic of a control object, is preset, and a target value for an output of the control object is calculated. A command signal corresponding to the target value then is determined based on the preset reverse characteristic, and the command signal is output to the control object. The control system includes first means for calculating a command signal corresponding to a given target value for the output of the control object based on the preset reverse characteristic, outputting the command signal to the control object, measuring an output of the control object and estimating a deviation between an actual input/output characteristic of the control object and the target input/output characteristic therefor, and storing data on the deviation between the input/output characteristics as learning correction data.

  • Patent number: 6094647
Abstract: A method for making document information searches. In performing a document search with respect to the desired key word, two stages of presearch are carried out. In a first stage of presearch, a character component table in which an existence of character codes for every document is stated with respect to all the character codes contained in the group of document text data of stored documents is generated, and the character component table is searched for all the character strings constituting a desiredly designated search subject key word to thereby extract all the documents each containing all the character codes constituting the search subject key word. In a second stage of presearch, contracted text data for every document in which adjuncts and duplication of repeatedly stated words contained in advance in the text data are eliminated is generated, and the documents each containing the search subject key words by word are extracted from the documents extracted by the first presearch.

  • Patent number: 6089485
Abstract: On the occasion of stopping the tape running at a high speed, a winding radius of the tape supply reel is detected to set the tape deceleration rate (a) on the basis of the detected winding radius of the supply reel. After the tape running speed is decelerated up to the allowable speed VL in the predetermined deceleration rate (a), the tape is stopped by effectuating the brake. Thereby, the tape can be driven at the speed higher than the allowable speed VL without generating any damage, enabling reduction of time required for the fast-forward/rewind operation. This can improve application flexibility by providing a couple of tape running modes at the first high speed V1 which is higher than the allowable speed VL and the second high speed V2 which is lower than the allowable speed VL.

  • Patent number: 6075765
Abstract: An information recording and reproducing apparatus that prevents an information recording medium from being taken out of its cartridge inadvertently. The information recording medium allows recording information thereon by irradiation of an energy beam. The cartridge comprises a body and a cap adapted to a separable from the body or opened/closed thereon. An information recording medium is accommodated in the cartridge to allow recording and reproducing of information by irradiation of the energy beam. The cartridge also has locking member for fixing the body and the cap together in a closed state. If the information recording medium needs to be taken out of the cartridge after the same has been set on the recording and reproducing apparatus, the locking member is released to make the cap separable from the body or open on the body and the cartridge is ejected from the recording and reproducing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6069834
Abstract: A semiconductor IC device is designed using a memory core with a plurality of I/O lines, a transfer circuit module and a logic library which are produced beforehand and stored in a data base. The memory core and a logic circuit are arranged so that their I/O lines extend in the same direction. A transfer circuit including plural stages of switch groups is arranged between the I/O lines of the memory core and the I/O lines of the logic circuit. Switches forming each stage of switch group are formed between the I/O lines of the memory core and the I/O lines of the logic circuit. When one stage of or a small number of stages of switch groups are turned on, the I/O lines of the memory core and the I/O lines of the logic circuit are turned on, thereby forming a desired transfer pattern. The memory core is constructed by the combination of functional modules such as an amplifier module, a bank module and a power supply module.

  • Patent number: 6069701
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for measuring the height of an apex of an object with high accuracy without influence of the surface state of the object are disclosed. Correlation coefficients of respective positions of a waveform formed from digital data indicative of the height of the object detected by a head portion of a detector and a previously prepared standard waveform are calculated while moving the waveforms in the vertical and horizontal directions and the height of an apex position of the standard waveform at a position having a largest correlation coefficient from the calculated result is decided as the height of the apex of the object. Accordingly, the height of the apex can be decided from the whole detected waveforms without influence of local abnormality of the reflected light quantity waveform due to minute ruggedness or discoloration of the surface of the object.
