Abstract: An apparatus, and a method which uses the apparatus, for raising a fluid from a lower region to a higher region of an at least partially cased well. The apparatus includes: a tubing string; a contacting structure at the upper end of the tubing string for engaging a stop structure in the well casing such that the tubing string is held in suspension; an exterior sealing element for sealing against the casing wall; and an internal check valve.

Abstract: A method of assessing, pricing, and provisioning distance-based vehicle insurance is disclosed. The method includes receiving a vehicle identification number of a vehicle to be insured from a customer, receiving an preliminary odometer reading of the vehicle to be insured from the customer, and obtaining from the customer a legally binding declaration that the preliminary odometer reading is true and accurate. The method includes insuring the vehicle during a policy period defined by coverage for a preselected number of units distance from the preliminary odometer reading.

Abstract: A method of providing vehicle insurance is disclosed. Determining a number of unexpired units distance under an existing insurance policy, the existing policy being defined in part by coverage for a predetermined number of units distance for a specified vehicle is disclosed. Assessing a premium per unit distance for a new policy, and providing coverage under the new policy for the unexpired units distance under the existing policy in exchange for receiving a payment comprising the difference between the premium per unit distance for the new policy and a premium per unit distance for the existing policy multiplied by the number of unexpired units distance is disclosed.

Abstract: A mechanical fence post driver for attachment to a lift arm of a standard front-loader which includes a mounting plate, guide tube, and roller latch assembly. The guide tube receives a tee or other fence post inserted therein such that it contacts the mounting plate. The fence post is held in place by a roller latch assembly which compresses the post against the rearward side of the guide tube. Insertion of the fence post into the ground is accomplished by lowering the lift arm while the post is held within the guide cylinder. A rotation plate assembly may be positioned between the mounting plate and guide cylinder to provide a convenient mechanism to rotate the guide cylinder in relation to the mounting plate.

Abstract: A drug delivery system utilizes a hand piece adapted to receive a probe. The hand piece may be made of a first segment and a second segment connected to one another by a swivel joint to accommodate a user's position and preference for switches provided thereon. Alternatively, the switches may be mounted on rotatable bases. A base unit connected to the hand piece delivers a substance to the hand piece via a drug line. The base unit may further include a nerve stimulator for transmitting current to the probe. A drug switch on the hand piece selectively activates a drug delivery and suction to facilitate aspiration. A current switch on the hand piece selectively delivers electric current to the probe. In practice, the hand piece of the invention may be used by a single operator operating an ultrasound wand with a first hand and operating the hand piece with a second hand, thereby reducing personnel typically required to perform certain tasks.

Abstract: An apparatus for cooking using wood pellets comprising: a direct cooking zone; an indirect cooking zone separated from the direct cooking zone by a divider; and a wood pellet burner positioned in the direct cooking zone such that food items in the direct cooking zone will be positioned above the burner. The cooking apparatus has a combustion flow path such that combustion gas from the burner will flow upwardly in the direct cooking zone, then over the divider, and then downwardly into the indirect cooking zone. The downward flow of combustion gas into the indirect cooking zone provides a top down cooking mode for food products placed therein.

Abstract: An apparatus for delivering air through a powered axle assembly and an improved powered axle assembly which incorporates the apparatus. The apparatus comprises: a base attachable to a non-rotating structure within the axle assembly and a rotor mountable in the axle assembly for rotating with the drive axle and for forming an air chamber between the rotor and the base. The base includes at least one air inlet for delivering air to the air chamber and the rotor includes at least one air outlet for air flow out of the chamber.

Abstract: A pump for efficiently producing gas in wells having some liquids. The pump may be driven by a walking beam or horsehead pump. The pump of the invention produces gases and liquids separately. Gases may be produced up the annulus between the casing and hollow sucker rods. A plunger seals the opening in the cage during downstroke. Gases and liquids are trapped in the cage above an inner barrel. Liquids are forced up the hollow sucker rod where they are retained by a one-way valve. On the upstroke, the one-way valve seats and gases are forced out of the cage and up the annulus. Gases are, therefore, produced up the annulus and liquids are produced up the drill string. In another embodiment, liquids are retained in a trap and are produced up hollow sucker rods, while gases are produced up the annulus between the hollow sucker rods and the casing.

Abstract: A fishing apparatus for simulating the catching of fish is taught herein. A preferred embodiment comprises a horizontal fish support, one or more fish-shaped members releasably mounted on the fish support, each fish-shaped member having a tapered mouth extending in front of the fish's mouth and a line slot that terminates in a patch of hook and loop material. A cast plug will carry a mating patch of the same material so that when the plug is drawn toward the user through the guide slot, the plug will engage the fish-shaped member, thereby pulling it away from the fish support in a manner simulating the catching of fish in actual water.

Abstract: A method for assessing, pricing, and provisioning distance-based vehicle insurance is disclosed. Receiving identification information of a customer and an associated vehicle, a current odometer reading of the vehicle, and a garaging location of the vehicle is disclosed. The customer is provided with a quote including a policy rate identifying a cost per distance unit based on the customer and vehicle identification information and the garaging location. Performing a purchase transaction for an insurance policy in response to the customer selecting one of the items for purchase, wherein coverage provided by the insurance policy expires based on the earlier of an odometer expiration value occurring and a predetermined time limit is disclosed. The expiration odometer value is the sum of the current odometer reading and the total number of distance units included in the selected item. The current odometer reading is not audited prior to or during the purchase transaction.

Abstract: A fishing reel, such as a spincast reel or a spinning reel, has a clutch assembly mounted on a shaft adjacent to the rotating component, the clutch assembly for frictional engagement with a rotating component. The clutch assembly has a first and a second protuberance. A bite alert contact is located for engagement with the first protuberance. A calibration member is adjacent the clutch assembly for engagement with the second protuberance. The calibration member provides a selectable amount of resistance to rotation of the clutch assembly, thereby regulating an amount of rotational force required to activate the bite alert contact. The fishing reel may further include a sensitivity switch for adjusting the selectable amount of resistance provided by the calibration member, which may adjust the resistance in discrete amounts.

Abstract: A file storage and retrieval method or technique for processing alphanumeric information that has particular advantages when accessing data in a database on a computer. The retrieval technique uses the ASCII values of characters in a search string concatenated together to form a numeric value which serves as the index to the data itself or to the index which holds the computer address of the location of the data. This technique allows data to be accessed with only one access when searching for a word or phrase within a database and lends itself for use on static storage systems of the future as well as on current disk based systems.

Abstract: A system and method for assessing, pricing, and provisioning distance-based vehicle insurance are provided. In one example, the method receives identification information of a customer and an associated vehicle, and a current odometer reading. Multiple coverage types are provided to the customer, as is at least one quote when the customer selects one of the coverage types. The quote includes a policy rate identifying a cost per distance unit based on the identification information. The customer is provided with multiple items based on the quote, where each item includes a total number of distance units for purchase at the policy rate. An insurance policy may be purchased in response to the customer selecting one of the items. The insurance policy's coverage is based on an expiration odometer value defined as the sum of the current odometer reading and the total number of distance units included in the selected item.

The size adjuster may include: a first guide having one end connected to the wearing portion; a second guide having one end connected to the wearing portion corresponding to a position of the first guide; a case having an inner portion connected to the respective other ends of the first and second guides and where the first and second guides move through; and an elastic band extended or contracted by connecting to the first and second guides.

Abstract: There is provided a system and method for creating a digital representation of personal events enhanced with related global content. Personal event frameworks are selectable by the user and are provided with insertion points to receive media items therein and are structured to complement type of personal event. Media items are automatically reformatted as necessary. The instant invention allows the user to enhance the event framework by inserting related global content, wherein global content stands for media items matching either the date, location or event type. The additional content is provided from local sources or over the Internet.

Abstract: An apparatus for cooking food with infrared radiation includes an infrared energy emitter for emitting the infrared radiation, and a grid in close proximity to the infrared energy emitter. A first side of the grid can be for supporting the food at a position so that at least some of the infrared radiation will cook the food. A second side of the grid can be sufficiently close to the emitting side of the emitter for substantially restricting any airflow in any space between the second side of the grid and the emitting side of the emitter. Partitions of the grid can operatively segregate the emitting side of the emitter into segments, which can provide a substantially uniform distribution of infrared radiation.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method to dissociate water molecules into H2 and O2 and includes a reaction vessel having at least one radiolysis apparatus, at least one photolysis apparatus, at least one catalyst apparatus, and at least one electromagnetic fielding apparatus. The reaction vessel has a body, a first end and a second end defining an interior reaction chamber, an inlet for receiving water vapor and at least two outlets. A plurality of windings of a contiguous electrical conductor are wound in a first direction adjacent the first outlet and plurality of windings of a contiguous electrical conductor wound in a second direction adjacent the second outlet such that the first direction is opposite the second direction. When a current is applied to the conductor, an electromagnetic field is generated to migrate the disassociated H2 and O2 molecules toward the respective first outlet or second outlet.
