  • Patent number: 7386454
Abstract: A user interface, and associated techniques, that permit a fast and efficient way of correcting speech recognition errors, or of diminishing their impact. The user may correct mistakes in a natural way, essentially by repeating the information that was incorrectly recognized previously. Such a mechanism closely approximates what human-to-human dialogue would be in similar circumstances. Such a system fully takes advantage of all the information provided by the user, and on its own estimates the quality of the recognition in order to determine the correct sequence of words in the fewest number of steps.

  • Patent number: 7359852
Abstract: A word prediction method that improves the precision accuracy, and a speech recognition method and an apparatus therefor are provided. For the prediction of a sixth word “?”, a partial analysis tree having a modification relationship with the sixth word is predicted. “sara-ni sho-senkyoku no” has two partial analysis trees, “sara-ni” and “sho-senkyoku no”. It is predicted that “sara-ni” does not have a modification relationship with the sixth word, and that “sho-senkyoku no” does. Then, “donyu”, which is the sixth word from “sho-senkyoku no”, is predicted. In this example, since “sara-ni” is not useful information for the prediction of “donyu”, it is preferable that “donyu” be predicted only by “sho-senkyoku no”.

Abstract: Methods and arrangements for collecting tracing data from a plurality of threads of a program. A storage buffer is provided, a first number of units of tracing data for a first thread of the program is determined, and a second number of units of tracing data for a second thread of the program is determined. In the storage buffer, a first block of storage space is reserved for storing the first number of units of tracing data and a second block of storage space is reserved for storing the second number of units of tracing data. Tracing data are thence written concurrently into the first and blocks.

  • Patent number: 7337161
Abstract: Most recent research of scalable inductive learning on very large streaming dataset focuses on eliminating memory constraints and reducing the number of sequential data scans. However, state-of-the-art algorithms still require multiple scans over the data set and use sophisticated control mechanisms and data structures. There is discussed herein a general inductive learning framework that scans the dataset exactly once. Then, there is proposed an extension based on Hoeffding's inequality that scans the dataset less than once. The proposed frameworks are applicable to a wide range of inductive learners.

  • Patent number: 7332424
Abstract: Disclosed is a new process that permits the transfer and reflow of solder features produced by Injection Molded Solder (IMS) from a mold plate to a solder receiving substrate without the use of flux. Several embodiments produce solder transfer and reflow separately or together and use either formic acid vapor or partial concentration of hydrogen, both in nitrogen, as the oxide reducing atmosphere. A final embodiment produces fluxless transfer and reflow in only nitrogen through the use of ultrasonic vibration between the solder filled mold plate and solder receiving substrate.

  • Patent number: 7330839
Abstract: The method and system of the present invention enables Internet businesses to conduct real-time, online experiments on a sample of transactions to determine marketplace sensitivities. Analysis of the results of the experiments reveal optimal values of key market decision variables such as price, content of banner ads, promotion levels, quantity discount schemes, etc. The experiments may be automatically conducted on an on-going basis, or may be conducted on a periodic basis. The method and system of the present invention preferably allow users to modify the nature of the experiment and the propagation of optimal values. The method and system of the current invention can be used for a pure diagnostic purpose or to automate the setting of key market variables. The dynamic experimentation used by the inventive system reveals the relative stability (or instability) of the networked market within which the business operates.

  • Patent number: 7331044
Abstract: A compiler includes a register allocator for allocating registers for instructions in a program to be compiled, and a code generator for generating object code based on the register allocation results performed by the register allocator. The register allocator allocates logical registers for instructions in the program to be compiled, register allocation further allocates, to physical registers, the logical registers that are allocated to the instructions of the program, so that the physical registers that are live at a procedure call in the program to be compiled are allocated from the bottom of the register stack.
