Abstract: A dispensing nozzle tip is advanced into engagement with the particular position of the circuit board to which material is to be applied, and a reactive force on the nozzle tip from the circuit board is sensed by variation in the output from a load cell such that an exact spacing may be provided between the nozzle tip and that portion of the surface to which material is to be dispensed. Having provided such spacing between the tip and surface, the flowable material is dispensed and a reactive force from the surface, via the flowable material, is sensed by the load cell arrangement to provide for metering of a dose of the flowable material. Such surface location and dispensed dosage sensing is performed for every dose of material to be applied.
Abstract: A radiation imaging apparatus provided with a pulse height analyzer for checking whether the pulse height of the energy signal produced in response to each scintillation event falls within an energy window set for the particular (x,y) coordinate position of the scintillation. The pulse height analyzer has a memory for storing a plurality of energy windows each for a particular one of the coordinate positions in the scintillator and each having a particular central level and a particular width such that the nonuniformity of the sensitivity of the detector due to the position-dependency of the energy signal and/or other causes can be corrected. A preliminary pulse height analyzer may be provided to increase the counting rate of energy signals useful for image production.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining loss of a received frequency modulated carrier wherein the receiver includes a limiter and discriminator and generates an AGC voltage for controlling the gain of the receiver and producing an output signal from the discriminator having an output bandwidth in excess of that required for the information channel. The unused portion of the output bandwidth is used to sample the noise level voltage through a narrow band filter which upon reaching a selected magnitude provides an indication of the loss of the carrier. The invention, in another aspect, includes a gate control of the AGC voltage which for high signal values interrupts the action of the video networks deriving the noise level voltage.

In the main portions, the fitting portions have engaging hooked pin portions and receiving hole portions for securely retaining the terminal.
Abstract: A manometer device for continuous monitoring of the air pressure in vehicle tires is described which consists of a manometric capsule and an electrical indicator device associated therewith. A flatly conical membrane with a cylindrical projection is arranged transversely through the interior space of the manometric capsule. A permanent magnet is inserted in this projection. The membrane divides the interior space of the manometric capsule into two chambers, of which one chamber is stressed with a nominal pressure and the other chamber is connected to the pressure space of a vehicle tire. A stationary sensor, which is associated with the manometric capsule to be mounted on a rim flange, responds to linear magnetic field variations and transmits the latter to a terminal.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a minute linear or rotational displacement of a linearly movable or rotary member relative to a stationary member, wherein the stationary member is provided with a plurality of photodetectors arranged at regular linear or angular intervals along a predetermined linear or circular length D, and the linearly movable or rotary member is provided with a plurality of narrow slots arranged at regular linear or angular intervals along the same linear or circular length as the above-mentioned linear or circular length. The length D on the stationary member is equally divided by n, which is a positive integer, and each of the photodetectors is positioned at one of the dividing points or positions. The length D on the linearly movable or rotary member is equally divided by n.+-.m, where m is a positive number sufficiently smaller than n, and each of the slots is positioned at one of the dividing points or positions.
Abstract: A product of fish meat paste simulating the meat of the lobster containing a heat-coagulated mixture of one part by weight of fish meat paste and 0.2 to 2 parts by weight of mannan gel modified by freezing. The fish meat paste is made of "surimi" and at least one additive selected from salt, seasoning agents, starch and texturing agents. The modified mannan gel is in the form of flakes less than 3 mm thick to impart to the coagulated mixture a texture which gives a particular oral sensation as if real lobster meat were being eaten.
Abstract: A solidification apparatus in the form of a rack and prongs rake structure, the prongs of which are a multiplicity of hollow tubes, each tube containing a serrated augar for providing augar assisted feeding of a gaseous suspension of cementing solids through the hollow tubes into the liquid, the rack supporting each hollow tube tine being pivotally attached to the arm of a backhoe so that the backhoe operator can generate lateral, pivotal and longitudinal movement of the tubes in the liquid while the gaseous suspension is being added to the liquid, a guard ring being provided at the open end of each tube for preventing submersion of the tube ends into the bed underlying the liquid of the encatchment.

Abstract: An alarm device is built into electrical equipment such as a portable radio receiver or tape recorder and connected to a loud speaker unit for producing an alarm sound by sensing infrared rays emitted from an intruder and sensed by an infrared ray detector included therein.
Abstract: A method of packaging fresh meat is disclosed in which a first web of material is formed into a receptacle to receive the fresh meat and the receptacle is sealed with a second web of material. The meat is subjected to a vacuum treatment in the receptacle and sealing is effected at reduced pressure. In the vacuum treatment the oxygen partial pressure in the vicinity of the meat is first reduced below about 0.9 mm. of mercury to degas the meat and controlled partial release of the vacuum to an oxygen partial pressure of above about 11 mm. of mercury, preferably about 600 mm. of mercury is effected, the sealing being conducted at this pressure. By this means it is ensured that the meat is not stored or likely to remain under an oxygen partial pressure which is highly deleterious to the meat, particularly to its color and customer appeal.
Abstract: The process for the production of double-walled mouldings for the reduction of sound in vehicles and engines in general by means of a single pressing operation consists in introducing into a compression mould a double package, each individual package consisting of a layer of prepolymer fibres and a foil of thermoplastics material. The foils of the individual packages are situated facing one another and a medium under pressure is blown in between these foils, in order to cause each package layer to be pressed against the internal face of the corresponding half-mould. The compression mould is heated to a temperature which is sufficient to cause complete melting of said foil and complete polymerization of said prepolymer fibres.
