Abstract: A tether tracking system for a mobile machine is disclosed. The tether tracking system may have a spool located on the mobile machine to selectively dispense and reel in a tether extending from the mobile machine to a stationary source as the mobile machine travels about a worksite. The tether tracking system may also have at least one sensor associated with the spool to generate a first signal indicative of a spool parameter, a locating system associated with the mobile machine to generate a second signal indicative of a location of the mobile machine, and a controller in communication with the at least one sensor and the locating system. The controller may be configured to determine a tether avoidance zone based on the first and second signals.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for neighbor cell configuration and a method and an apparatus for femtocell base station configuration. The neighbor cell configuration method includes: obtaining information of at least one macro cell; obtaining neighbor cell information of the at least one macro cell; and performing neighbor cell configuration according to the information of the at least one macro cell and the neighbor cell information. With the method and apparatus for neighbor cell configuration and the method and apparatus for femtocell base station configuration, complete femtocell base station neighbor cell information is obtained so that a femtocell base station can be configured automatically. This avoids call drops during handovers and increases the success rate of handovers, and the implementation is easy.
Abstract: A registration device, verification device, authentication method and authentication program that can improve the accuracy of authentication are proposed. A predetermined process is performed for an image signal obtained as a result of taking a picture of a image-capturing target which is given as an object for biometrics authentication and which is a predetermined part of a living body; a characteristic part of the image-capturing target is extracted from the image signal; the Hough transform is carried out by characteristic extraction means for the extracted characteristic part; a plurality of characteristic parameter points are extracted from a parameter point obtained as a result of the Hough transform under a predetermined extraction condition; and a determination is made as to whether the plurality of characteristic parameter points are those to be registered or to be compared with the registered one according to an angle component of the plurality of the characteristic parameter points.
Abstract: A hydrogen engine 10 supplies hydrogen, oxygen, and an argon gas serving as a working to a combustion chamber 21 to combust the hydrogen. H2O in a recirculating gas discharged from the combustion chamber 21 is separated and eliminated from the gas by a condenser 66. A three-way valve 72 is switched over in such a manner that the recirculating gas flows through a product eliminating section 70 (a carbon dioxide absorbing unit 71), when the concentration of carbon dioxide in the recirculating gas is higher than a predetermined concentration, so that the carbon dioxide is separated and eliminated from the recirculating gas.

Abstract: A system for monitoring television signals broadcast by at least one transmission antenna in a broadcast area includes a monitoring control center and a plurality of remote monitoring units distributed in television signal receiving locations of the broadcast area remote from the transmission antenna. The remote monitoring units are configured to receive the television signals irradiated in the respective locations, process the television signals and send to the monitoring control center information related to the processed television signal. In particular, the remote monitoring units include a receiver adapted to receive the television signal, a measuring system adapted to perform measures on radio-electric features of the received television signal, and a communication system adapted to communicate measurement results to the remote monitoring center, exploiting a communication link between the remote monitoring unit and the control center.
Abstract: An information processing apparatus that executes processing for creating an environmental map includes a camera that photographs an image, a self-position detecting unit that detects a position and a posture of the camera on the basis of the image, an image-recognition processing unit that detects an object from the image, a data constructing unit that is inputted with information concerning the position and the posture of the camera and information concerning the object and executes processing for creating or updating the environmental map, and a dictionary-data storing unit having stored therein dictionary data in which object information is registered. The image-recognition processing unit executes processing for detecting an object from the image acquired by the camera with reference to the dictionary data. The data constructing unit applies the three-dimensional shape data registered in the dictionary data to the environmental map and executes object arrangement on the environmental map.

Abstract: A therapeutic foam for the treatment of, inter alia, varicose veins comprises a sclerosing solution foamed with a physiological gas such as carbon dioxide, oxygen or a mixture thereof. The foam has a nitrogen content of less than 0.8%. It may be generated using a pressurized canister system incorporating a fine mesh of micron dimensions through which the gas and sclerosing liquid are passed to make the foam. Alternatively, the foam may be generated by passing gas and solution between two syringes through a fine mesh. Techniques are described for minimizing the amount of nitrogen in a canister or syringe based product. A technique for generating and delivering foam simultaneously using a syringe based device is also disclosed.

Abstract: An S storage catalyst 2 is equipped with a catalytic supporter, a catalytic metal being supported on this catalytic supporter and oxidizing SO2 to SO3, and an S storage material being supported on the catalytic supporter and storing S components therein. This S storage catalyst 2 has an exhaust-gas-inlet-side high-concentration portion 2A in which the S storage material is supported on the catalytic supporter in a high concentration, and an exhaust-gas-outlet-side low-concentration portion 2A in which the S storage material is supported on the catalytic supporter in a low concentration that is lower than that of the high-concentration portion. In accordance with this S storage catalyst 2, it is possible to maintain the S storing performance favorably, even in a case where exhaust-gas temperatures are low, while keeping the material cost from rising steeply.
