Abstract: According to the invention, a compact and inexpensive with low power consumption memory and low access speed can be used for a panel controller and a deterioration compensation circuit of a display device. In a display device of a digital gray scale method, a plurality of pixels of a display panel are divided into first to n-th pixel regions (n is 2 or more) and a format converter portion of a panel controller converts the format of only video data corresponding to one of first to n-th pixel regions and writes the data to one of first and second video memories in each frame period. A display control portion reads out video data that is converted in format and corresponds to one of first to n-th pixel regions in which video data is written to the other of the first and second video memories in the preceding frame period, and transmits the data to the display panel.

Abstract: A collaboration network is defined by creating a virtual meeting room on a central server. The central server negotiates with one or more edge servers for remote management of selected collaboration parameters, which control such things as shared objects, group connections, streaming video, and video on-demand. Using the selected collaboration parameters, the edge servers manage the meeting participation of the network clients connected to the virtual meeting room through the individual edge servers. When management of the meeting participation requires either parameters that the edge server does not have or when the parameters of the edge server are out of date, the management responsibility is transferred to the central server for that request.
Abstract: A power supply circuit has: a DC/DC converter (M11, M12, L11, C11) which steps down an input voltage Vin to generate an output voltage Vout1 by rectifying and smoothing a pulsing switched voltage Vsw generated by turning on and off output switches (M11 and M12); and a charge pump (M11-M14, C12, C13) which steps up the input voltage Vin to generate an output voltage Vout2 by repeating charging and discharging of a charge accumulation capacitor (C12) by turning on and off charge transfer switches (M11-M14). First end of the charge accumulation capacitor is connected to a terminal from which the switched voltage Vsw is outputted. The output switches are also used as part of the charge transfer switches.
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer readable media for cache management. Cache management can operate to organize pages into files and score the respective files stored in a cache memory. The organized pages can be stored to an optical storage media based upon the organization of the files and based upon the score associated with the files.
Abstract: In connection with a mobile wireless subnetwork having multiple radio network controllers and multiple radio nodes, a session established for an access terminal is associated with a serving radio network controller. The association is maintained as the access terminal moves from the coverage area of one radio node to the coverage area of another radio node within the same subnetwork. Access channel packets are routed from an access terminal having an existing session to the serving radio network controller by determining the IP address of the serving radio network controller using a session identifier.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating a reinforced vertical multi-sided monopole tower for supporting equipment including a multi-sided monopole, a plurality of holes on three equally spaced sides of the multi-sided monopole tower and tower reinforcement apparatus mounted to the holes. The tower reinforcement apparatus includes bolts supporting a first flat bar and a second flat bar on each side of the tower. The upper end of the first flat bar abuts a lower end of the second bar and a plate is bolted over adjacent ends connecting the first and second flat bar such that the first and second flat bars are sandwiched between the plate and a side of the perimeter of the monopole.
Abstract: Techniques for operating a reading machine are disclosed. The techniques include forming an N-dimensional features vector based on features of an image, the features corresponding to characteristics of at least one object depicted in the image, representing the features vector as a point in n-dimensional space, where n corresponds to N, the number of features in the features vector and comparing the point in n-dimensional space to a centroid that represents a cluster of points in the n-dimensional space corresponding to a class of objects to determine whether the point belongs in the class of objects corresponding to the centroid.

Abstract: A plasma display panel is disclosed. The plasma display panel includes a front substrate, a rear substrate positioned opposite the front substrate, and a barrier rib that is positioned between the front substrate and the rear substrate to partition discharge cells. The barrier rib includes a transverse barrier rib and a longitudinal barrier rib crossing each other. Depressions are positioned to be spaced apart from each other at a barrier crossing of the transverse barrier rib and the longitudinal barrier rib.
Abstract: In a radio access network in which a first access terminal uses a first access point to access the network and a second access terminal uses a second access point to access the network, interference is reduced in communications between the first access terminal and the first access point by adjusting signal power levels of the second access terminal without requiring coordination between the first and second access points.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that automatically generates synonyms for words from documents. During operation, this system determines co-occurrence frequencies for pairs of words in the documents. The system also determines closeness scores for pairs of words in the documents, wherein a closeness score indicates whether a pair of words are located so close to each other that the words are likely to occur in the same sentence or phrase. Finally, the system determines whether pairs of words are synonyms based on the determined co-occurrence frequencies and the determined closeness scores. While making this determination, the system can additionally consider correlations between words in a title or an anchor of a document and words in the document as well as word-form scores for pairs of words in the documents.
Abstract: Coding techniques for a video image compression system involve improving an image quality of a sequence of two or more bi-directionally predicted intermediate frames, where each of the frames includes multiple pixels. One method involves determining a brightness value of at least one pixel of each bi-directionally predicted intermediate frame in the sequence as an equal average of brightness values of pixels in non-bidirectionally predicted frames bracketing the sequence of bi-directionally predicted intermediate frames. The brightness values of the pixels in at least one of the non-bidirectionally predicted frames is converted from a non-linear representation.

The resistance exercise and physical therapy apparatus includes: an elongate resilient member having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the elongate resilient member includes an elastic material with a first enlargement at the proximal end, a second enlargement at the distal end, and one or more spaced-apart third enlargements along the length of the elongate resilient member, wherein the first enlargement is grasped by a first foot of a human user or by one or more floor or wall mounted sockets. A method of resistance exercise and a kit including the resistance exercise and physical therapy apparatus are also provided.
Abstract: A technique for producing constructed fares that include an arbitrary added to a published fare is described. The techniques determine interior cities that appear with gateway cities in arbitraries for the airline and searches for gateway cities corresponding to the determined interior cities appearing in the arbitraries. The technique applies an arbitrary corresponding to one of the interior cities to a published fare involving one of the gateway cities to produce the constructed fare.
Abstract: A media player is executed on an electronic device by implementing a runtime of a media player in a modular framework on the electronic device. The modular framework is configured to have each of multiple types of media player runtimes implemented therein and to host modules that configure any of the types of media player runtimes for respective device types. The runtime is configured for the electronic device using a module hosted by the modular framework. The module abstracts at least one resource in the electronic device available to the media player. The electronic device is prepared for execution of the media player on the electronic device, and the media player uses the resource during the execution based on configuration according to the module.
Abstract: To provide a semiconductor device which operates stably with few malfunctions due to noise, with low power consumption, and little variation in characteristics; a display device including the semiconductor device; and an electronic device including the display device. An output terminal is connected to a power supply line, thereby reducing variation in electric potential of the output terminal. In addition, a gate electrode potential which turns ON a transistor is maintained due to the capacitance of the transistor. Further, change in characteristics of the transistor is reduced by a signal line for reverse bias.
