  • Patent number: 8056195
Abstract: A U-shaped clip that is configured to be quickly installed by attaching the clip over the top edge of the vertical wall defined by plural end to end oriented landscape edging restraint members. This action is quick and easily accomplished by hand, requiring no tools or forceful effort. The clip is made of a material having a hardness characteristic that is harder than the material of the edging restraint members. The clip includes a series of pointed, opposing, hardened steel barbs that bite into the softer edging material to create a mechanical lock. Further, the barbs are angled so as to increase the force applied to the edging material as the parts are drawn apart in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 8056765
Abstract: A discharge device for media includes an outer housing with a discharge opening, a discharge handle for manual actuation. A support is arranged in the outer housing. Movable along a main axis relative to the outer housing and connected to the discharge handle, it has a seat for a pump dispenser. A pump is actuated by compression of the pump dispenser. A first abutment on the housing interacts with the pump dispenser, actuating the pump. The support has a functional portion which acts on the pump dispenser with a force oriented in the direction of the first abutment on the housing. An adjuster is provided between the handle and the functional portion of the support, by which the position of the functional portion relative to the first abutment on the housing can be adjusted for a defined setting of the discharge handle.

  • Patent number: 8050861
Abstract: A road map is provided which allows a determination to be intuitively rendered whether a course contains an increased number of upward slopes or downward slopes as viewed in the direction of the course. The direction of the course is set up across roads indicated on the map, and the upward slopes and the downward slopes located along the course are indicated in different colors. For example, the direction of the course is set up on the map by a starting point and destinations. A gentle upward slope is indicated by a red color of a low thickness, a medium upward slope is indicated by a red color of a medium thickness and a sharp upward slope is indicated by a red color of a high thickness. On the other hand, a gentle downward slope is indicated by a blue color of a low thickness, a medium downward slope is indicated by a blue color of a medium thickness and a sharp downward slope is indicated by a blue color of a high thickness.

  • Patent number: 8047176
Abstract: In a balancer apparatus of an engine having an oil pump, a space on a chain side and a space on an oil strainer side are partitioned by a projecting portion projecting in a direction which perpendicularly crosses balancer shafts in a balancer housing formed on an oil pump housing. An oil strainer is attached to a side wall on the anti-chain side of the projecting portion, and a chain tensioner for applying tension to a chain is arranged in the space on the chain side formed by enlarging the attaching surface of the oil pan outwardly so as to enclose the projecting portion. Thus oil which has been stirred by the chain and in which air has been mixed is prevented from being sucked into the oil strainer.
