An outer wall bridges the airfoil outer ends, and an inner wall bridges the inner ends. One of the walls includes a flute adjacent the leading edges for locally increasing flow area thereat.

Abstract: A booster compressor includes inlet guide vanes supported from a shroud. A shell surrounds the shroud and defines a manifold. Abstract: A swirl cup for a gas turbine engine combustor includes a tubular body having an inlet at one end for receiving a fuel injection nozzle, an outlet at an opposite end for discharging the fuel, and an annular septum therebetween. A row of first swirl vanes is attached to the septum adjacent the body inlet, and a row of second swirl vanes is attached to the septum adjacent the first swirl vanes and spaced upstream from the body outlet. Air from the first and second swirl vanes is swirled directly around the injected fuel without a flow barrier or venturi therebetween.

Abstract: An automated teller machine (ATM) includes a number of currency note holding cassettes 40. The notes are transferred to a dispensing slot 18 via paths 46 and 48. Mispicked notes are detected by multiple note detector 58 and diverted to reject bin 60 via diverter 56. When cassette contents reach a low level and require replenishment, notes are transferred from cassettes 40 via paths 45 and 91 by means of diverter 93 into a secure purge bin 90. Empty cassettes can be removed and replenished whilst the bin carrying the remaining notes is transferred for emptying by secure transportation.
Abstract: An exhaust nozzle includes an annular exhaust duct for discharging exhaust from an aft end thereof. Circumferentially adjoining chevrons extend from the duct aft end around only an arcuate portion thereof leaving a plain arcuate shelf between terminal ones of the chevrons. Each of the chevrons has a triangular configuration and a compound arcuate contour both circumferentially and axially.

Abstract: A business mailer includes a face sheet having a strip of adhesive bonded to one side thereof along a corresponding edge. A liner is bonded to the face sheet atop the adhesive strip, and is severed around a central strip tab for being removed from a surrounding border of the liner for exposing the adhesive strip. This integrated construction may be printed at high speed following which the liner tab is removed and the face sheet folded to form an adhesively sealed business mailer.

Abstract: A self-service terminal (10) for preventing fraud and a module (50) for use in a fraud-resistant self-service terminal (10) are described. The SST (10) comprises a fascia (12) defining a card entry slot (22), and a card reader module (50) located behind the card entry slot (22). The SST (10) further comprises a terminal shutter (34) operable to cover the card entry slot (22), and sensors (68,86,88,90,94) for detecting the location of a card within the module (50). If the sensors detect a card within the module (50) that cannot be transported then the SST (10) operates the shutter (34) to cover the card entry slot (22) and prevent access to the card. A method of preventing fraud using the SST (10) is also described.
