  • Patent number: 4611379
Abstract: A tamper-proof or security threaded fastener assembly adapted for use with standard size bolts and screws is provided to reduce or eliminate the unauthorized removal of threaded fasteners from their desired position of fixation. A cap portion is adapted to completely encase the head of the bolt or screw such that, after tightening of the bolt or screw, access thereto is restricted to a special non-standard tool. In one embodiment, a nut portion is provided comprising an elongate strip provided with a threaded hole to receive the bolt and a perpendicularly disposed flange. An additional hole appropriately provided in the base or plate through which the bolt is attached is adapted to receive the flange of the nut portion in a manner which prevents the nut portion from being rotated after the bolt is tightened and fully drawn up to the base or plate.

  • Patent number: 4557017
Abstract: An apparatus and method for deboning or filleting the meat from a poultry breast section which is characterized by a plurality of mandrels spaced along a moving endless chain conveyor and each adapted to receive a poultry breast section. After loading of the mandrel, it is advanced to a cutting station comprising a pair of closely spaced stationary knives disposed parallel to the direction of travel. The knives effect a longitudinal cut of predetermined depth closely adjacent to the length of the keel or center bone of the breast section to create a loose flap of meat. The mandrel and breast section continue to be advanced to a meat stripping section which comprises a pair of lateral spaced resilient strips which form a downwardly inclined path. As the breast section engages the strip in a predetermined manner, the meat portion on each side of the breast is peeled from the bone as the breast advances through the stripping section. The meat fillet is collected separately from the remaining bone portion.

  • Patent number: 4528887
Abstract: An improved tuning device for mounting upon stringed musical instruments such as the guitar, banjo, mandolin and the like. The improvement relates to providing a construction wherein the winding spindle or drum upon which the string is attached may be selectively and independently rotated on a one to one basis or on a high multiple to one basis. The one to one turning ratio is designed to be used to initially wind the string from a relaxed condition to a pre-tuned degree of tension associated with replacing worn or broken strings. The multiple tuning basis is, in typical fashion, employed to fine tune the string tension to produce the appropriate musical note.

  • Patent number: 4318621
Abstract: A transit concrete mixer is provided having a displaceable charging hopper which may be moved between a charging position wherein a discharge conduit thereof projects into the interior of the mixer drum and a relatively displaced position where the discharge conduit is removed from the drum to facilitate discharge of concrete from the drum. The charging hopper is pivotally attached to a support structure which also carries the rear end portion of the mixer drum and is selectively movable in a vertical plane about a horizontal axis. The relative location of the horizontal axis for pivoting movement of the charging hopper is located with respect to the terminal end of the hopper's discharge conduit such that the hopper and its associated conduit may be swung from one position to the other without interference with the mixer drum and its interiorally mounted blade elements. A hydraulic actuating ram is provided to facilitate the swinging movement of the charging hopper.
