  • Patent number: 6543534
Abstract: A wellsite pumping system, comprising a gas processing system including a source of compressed gas, the source of compressed gas having a low pressure inlet and a high pressure outlet, coil tubing connected to the high pressure outlet of the gas processing system, the coil tubing including a first tubing string connected to the high pressure outlet and a second tubing string running parallel to the first tubing string and having an opening for entry of fluid at a remote end from the high pressure outlet; and a venturi connecting the second tubing string to the first tubing string such that, in operation, passage of gas through the venturi from the first tubing string draws production fluid into the second tubing string. Preferably, the second tubing string is suspended within the first tubing string. The venturi may be formed by a horizontal passageway communicating with a vertical passageway with a restriction.

  • Patent number: 6541124
Abstract: A drill resistant plate, which presents a rough surface of hardened particles to drilling attack, and which tends to snap or destroy drill bits before they can began drilling. The plate is made by brazing hard particles into a matrix of brazing material attached to a steel plate. Nickel-Silver brazing material is used to form the matrix on the steel plate, and tungsten carbide particles of 8-10 mesh are secured within the matrix, with the hard particles of tungsten carbide partially exposed, presenting a roughened surface with angular pieces of tungsten carbide to the drilling attack.

  • Patent number: 6521786
Abstract: A description is given here of a novel process for the production of monocarboxylic and polycarboxylic aromatic acids by the catalytic oxidation in homogeneous phase of aromatic compounds carrying at least one oxidizable substituent group attached directly to the carbon atom of the corresponding aromatic nucleus. The novel process according to the present invention comprises the steps of: a) catalytically oxidizing the corresponding aromatic precursors in liquid phase in the presence of gaseous oxygen; b) filtering the end product; c) recycling into the oxidation reactor at least part of the mother liquors resulting from the filtration stage, and is characterized by the fact that said steps from (a) to (c) are carried out in a closed and continuous cycle operating substantially under the same pressure and temperature conditions, preferably at 2-10 barg and 100-140° C.

  • Patent number: 6485536
Abstract: The invention is a particle separator which separates entrained particulates from a fluid. The particle separator utilizes an auger enclosed within a cylinder to form a cyclonic chamber, through which air is propelled. The centrifugal motion of particles within the air causes the particles to exit the cyclonic chamber through ducts, and the particles are separated in collection chambers.

  • Patent number: 6477509
Abstract: A method and system for communication and trade on a network, in which information is directed at the computer screen of a consumer by merchants of goods, services, or information. A lending partner would provide the initial capital to offer the consumer an incentive for signing up for the system, and for supplying pertinent information about herself. A management system would integrate the merchant information with consumer information, to send a targeted stream of information to the user. Purchases could be made from the system, whether connected to the network or not. Background data transfer or auto-refreshing of data would be options for the system. The lending partner would be repaid for the consumer's incentive from revenues paid into the management system related to each individual consumer transaction.

  • Patent number: 6473983
Abstract: Disclosed is a tool for marking a pair of points on a horizontal line. The tool has a standard ruler onto which is slidably attached a first member, a leveling member, and a second member. The first member is used to mark the first point and the device pivots at the first member. The user then determines when the first member is level with second member through using the leveling member. When level status is obtained, the user is able to mark the wall or other surface at the second member, thereby resulting in marking pair of points on a horizontal line.
