  • Patent number: 4800073
Abstract: A process for the production of hydrogen peroxide according to the anthraquinone process. According to the process certain alkyl substituted caprolactames are used as solvents, and particularly as solvents for anthrahydroquinones. The substituted caprolactames, which for example can be hexyl caprolactam and octyl caprolactam, give a very good solubility for anthrahydroquinones and also for anthraquinones. The compounds can be used as the sole solvent at the production of hydrogen peroxide or in combination with conventionally used solvents such as hydrocarbons.

  • Patent number: 4794065
Abstract: Toner particles for electrophotographic copying and electrostatic printing consist of pigmented thermoplastic base particles having the surface covered with a thermoplastic fine-grained polymerizate. The base particles are prepared by suspension polymerization and the fine-grained polymerizate originates from a latex prepared by emulsion or microsuspension polymerization. One method of preparing the toner consists of bringing an aqueous dispersion of the base particles into contact with a latex of the fine-grained polymerizate. The temperature is raised so that the fine-grained particles adhere to the surface of the base particle. A protective colloid system can be present and/or the particles can have charges of opposite character. In another method the preparation of the toner particles comprises suspension polymerization of monomer for formation of the base particles in the presence of an already prepared latex whereby the latex particles have higher hydrophility than the polymer in the base particle.

  • Patent number: 4793070
Abstract: A measuring plate (10) supports successive rows of perforation fingers (24i-k) on its upper side, the spacing and diameter of which respectively correspond to the perforations of a postage stamp. By laying .the postage stamp on a row of perforation fingers (22i), the conformity of the postage stamp perforations and measuring perforations can be checked in a tactile manner. The measuring plate (10) is connected by way of a hinge (30 to 34) to a trough-like lid member (12), which can be used for checking water-marks. The measuring plate (10) and lid member (12) together form a flat carrying case for postage stamps.

  • Patent number: 4782424
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement for the non-contacting control of a sanitary fitting, the signal, by which the solenoid valve or valves is/are controlled, is monitored with regard to the leading or decaying edge. If the leading edge appears, then the sensitivity of the entire circuit arrangement is reduced from a higher to a lower value; on the other hand, if the decaying edge appears, then the sensitivity of the circuit arrangement is once more increased to the original higher value, possibly with a time lag. Due to this, a "self-holding effect" due to the flowing water is prevented from occuring.
