Abstract: A support is disclosed for adjustably supporting a distal end of a measuring cord relative to a ground surface. The support includes a body member having a longitudinally extending slot. A first and a second pin is slidably disposed within the first and second apertures in the body member with the first and second pins being able to be driven into the ground surface to vertically position the body member relative to the ground surface. A hook is slidably mounted within the slot for supporting the distal end of the measuring cord and for horizontally positioning the distal end of the measuring cord relative to the ground surface.
Abstract: An improved automatic transmission is disclosed comprising an input shaft, an output shaft and a countershaft with the input shaft rotating the countershaft. A plurality of countershaft gears are secured to the countershaft and are in rotational engagement with a plurality of drive gears rotatably mounted on the output shaft. A plurality of clutches are mounted between the output shaft and the drive gears for transferring rotational power from the input shaft to the output shaft upon engagement of a selected one of the plurality of clutches, respectively.
Abstract: An improved battery plate and method of making for an electric storage battery. The battery plate comprises a plurality of metallic fibers of a single or plural diameters randomly oriented and sintered to provide a conductive battery plate with a multiplicity of pores defined therein. The metallic fibers are formed by cladding and drawing a plurality of metallic wires to provide a fiber tow. The fiber tow is severed and the cladding is removed to form metallic fibers. The metallic fibers are arranged into a web and sintered to form the battery plate.
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for a combined turret and closure seal for a hand operated dispensing device having a closure for securing to a container to dispense a fluid from the container. The turret comprises a tubular portion and a gasket portion with the tubular portion engaging with the pump body. A closure is securable to the container and defines a closure shoulder. A boss is disposed on one of the tubular portion of said turret and the pump body for cooperating with the closure shoulder to interlock the turret and the pump body to the closure for securing the pump body to the container with the gasket portion of the turret providing a seal between.
Abstract: An improved recycling water cooler for a water cooled refrigeration system comprising first conduits interconnecting the water cooled refrigeration system and the recycling water cooler and the ambient water source for enabling the flow of water therebetween. Second conduits interconnect the water cooled refrigeration system and the recycling water cooler and the drain for enabling the flow of water therebetween. A first and second valve is interposed in the first and second conduits for enabling heated water discharged from the water cooled refrigeration system to enter the recycling water cooler to be cooled thereby and to be returned to the water cooled refrigeration system when the first and second valves are disposed in a first position. The first and second valves interconnect the water cooled refrigeration system to the ambient water source and to a drain for operating the water cooled refrigeration system in a conventional manner when the first and second valves are disposed in a second position.
Abstract: An improved terminal orifice system is disclosed for a hand operated dispensing device for dispensing a product from a terminal orifice. The improved terminal orifice system comprises a spin chamber communicating with the terminal orifice with a plurality of feed channels providing communicating between the hand operated dispensing device and the spin chamber for spinning the product about an axis within the spin chamber prior to discharge from the terminal orifice. Each of the plurality of feed channels is tapered to control the flow rate of the product into the spin chamber.
Abstract: A flow switch is disclosed comprising a body member having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet defined therein. An outer core tube is disposed within the body member and has a first and a second end. An inner core tube is disposed coaxial to and within the outer core tube and has a first and a second end with the first ends of the inner and outer core tubes being disposed adjacent the fluid inlet. One of the inner and outer core tubes being in fluid communication with the fluid inlet. The body member defines a body flow path between the outer core tube and the body member and in fluid communication with the fluid outlet. A first aperture is defined by the inner core tube and a second aperture is defined by the outer core tube. Securing means secures one of the core tubes to be non-rotatable relative to the body member.
