  • Patent number: 6400402
Abstract: An imaged pickup apparatus wherein the light projected position in which light representing sample points of the image of an object to be photographed is projected is changed, and any light receiving element of a light receiving section sequentially detects the intensity of the light representing the individual sample points. The light receiving section generates outputs representing the detected light intensities in synchronization with changes of the light projected position, and as a result, a plurality of image signals are produced. The light receiving section includes a plurality of groups each of which consists of light receiving elements, having light receiving surfaces and forming a set, and apertures. The apertures are orthographically projected in different positions on the light receiving surfaces of the light receiving elements. The produced pixel data are arranged so that the pixel data representing the intensity of light which has passed through different apertures are adjacent to each other.

  • Patent number: 6400501
Abstract: An optical microscope has a revolver for selectively inserting a plurality of objective lenses including a low-magnification (very-low-magnification) objective lens on an optical axis for observation light. In fluorescence observation using the low-magnification objective lens, the effective diameter of an observation optical system is set larger than that of an illumination optical system. With this arrangement, fluorescence observation using the low-magnification objective lens can be stably performed. A cube unit having a plurality of cubes corresponding to the respective microscopic methods is arranged in the optical microscope. An auxiliary lens serving as a very-low-magnification objective lens is mounted in this cube unit. The auxiliary lens can be automatically used in observation using the very-low-magnification objective lens. With this arrangement, a compact optical microscope excellent in operability can be realized.

  • Patent number: 6400941
Abstract: Each time a mobile terminal enters a service area of an information providing device and its location is registered by the information providing device, the area code and local code of telephone numbers and addresses associated with the service area are sent from the information providing device to the mobile terminal. Based on the area and local codes of telephone numbers and the addresses, the terminal retrieves the telephone numbers, names and addresses of acquaintances residing within the service area from an address book stored in its RAM and visually displays them with a notification sound. Thus, the user at the terminal can know access information for acquaintances residing within each service area each time the user enters the service area.

  • Patent number: 6396570
Abstract: A distance measurement apparatus irradiates an object with a light from a light source whose luminance can be modulated or from a pulse light source, and receives the reflected and returned light to obtain a distance to the object. A photoelectric converter receives the reflected light and photoelectrically converts the received light. A first charge accumulator accumulates an electric charge transferred via a first gate driven by a first transfer pulse synchronized with an emitting timing of the light from the light source among electric charges generated by the photoelectric converter. A second charge accumulator accumulates an electric charge transferred via a second gate driven by a second transfer pulse complementary to the first transfer pulse among the electric charges generated by the photoelectric converter.

  • Patent number: 6397151
Abstract: When a person wearing the wristwatch device (11) on his or her dominant arm has struck a blow, an acceleration sensor (12) senses acceleration at regular intervals of time, extracts accelerations x1 to x20 sensed at 20 points in front of the hit point H at which the sensed acceleration changes from positive to negative, and stores them in a RAM (20). The impulse force is calculated by multiplying the accelerations x1 to x20 at the 20 points in front of the hit point H by the weighting coefficients determined on the basis of the accelerations sensed in a trial performance and the actually measured impulse force and stored in a ROM (19). Therefore, the impulse force can be estimated accurately without actually striking a secured object.
