Abstract: An image pickup device includes a flash memory wherein picked-up image data is recorded. The flash memory includes a data block that stores the image data, and managing blocks which store managing data such as directory entries and a FAR chain. Image data is entered into the data block of the flash memory while the managing data is being written. When the power supply is accidentally turned off during the data entering operation and an abnormality occurs in the managing data, correct image data cannot be read out. The image pick-up device provides measures for eliminating such troubles. To this end, the flash memory includes a data block that stores a plurality of image data files, a pair of managing blocks that manage the data block, and a pair of checksum storage areas that have stored check data used to check respective data stored in the pair of managing blocks.
Abstract: A coin discriminating apparatus includes a first light source for projecting light onto one surface of a coin being transported, a second light source for projecting light onto the other surface of a coin being transported, a first light detector for photoelectrically receiving light emitted from the first light source and reflected by the one surface of the coin and producing image pattern data of the one surface of the coin, a first pattern data memory for storing the image pattern data of the one surface of the coin produced by the first light detector, a second light detector for photoelectrically receiving light emitted from the second light source and reflected by the other surface of the coin and producing image pattern data of the other surface of the coin, a second pattern data memory for storing the image pattern data of the other surface of the coin produced by the second light detecting means, a reference data memory for storing reference data of coins of each denomination, a discriminator for com
Abstract: The present invention provides compounds represented by the following general formula [I] and salts thereof, which are useful as therapeutic agents for glaucoma,
wherein R1 is H, lower alkyl or phenyl, and the phenyl can be substituted by lower alkyl, hydroxy, lower alkoxy, halogen, nitro or phenyl; R2 and R3, being the same or different, are H, halogen or lower alkyl; R4 and R5, being the same or different, are H, lower alkyl or carboxyl or ester thereof; and R6 is carboxyl or phosphono or ester thereof.

Abstract: A safety device for protecting a fluid pipeline (1) from an excessive flow of the fluid running through it. The device includes a body (2) delimited by a tubular wall (20), having an upstream end (21) and a downstream end (22) and being selectively inserted into the pipeline (1). A valve (3), which is sensitive to a pressure loss, is supported by the body (2) and disposed between the upstream and downstream ends. A retaining means (4a, 4b) holds the body (2) in place inside the pipeline (1). An inflatable envelope (5) is provided outside the body for impermeably encasing a section of effective length of the tubular wall (20) into which at least one first opening (231) is cut.

Abstract: An amusement ride is provided which includes a base, stationary elements mounted on said base, assemblies that are movable relative to said stationary elements, cabins that are fastened on said moving assemblies, and units for passengers loading, unloading and servicing that are mounted on said base. At least one of said cabins is designed as a restaurant and/or a bar, and said servicing units contain blocks for food preparation and/or storage. The amusement ride can be designed as a panoramic wheel or any other amusement device equipped with cabins that move under the action of forces applied.
Abstract: In a dual-mode filter, this invention is capable of optionally setting an attenuation pole frequency with maintaining a passbandwidth of the filter by selecting a combination of an angle between input/output ports and a size of a stub perturbation. The dual-mode filter includes a circular resonator formed on a dielectric substrate, a pair of input/output ports connected to the circular resonator through a capacitance formed on the substrate at a symmetrical position with respect to a symmetry plane passing through a center of the circular shape of the circular resonator, and stub poles are formed on the substrate radially extending along the symmetry plane from opposite positions of the circular resonator in the diametrical direction with each other. The pair of input/output ports are formed with defining an angle different from a right angle therebetween.
Abstract: The present invention provides a bed apparatus allowing a worker to easily move a user's body at the time of consultation and nursing of the user lying on his back on a floor plate. The bed apparatus comprises a bed frame. A floor plate is provided on the bed frame. A second recess portion dented inwardly in the lateral direction of the bed frame is formed on at least one side part of both lateral side parts of the floor plate. A support member is provided on the second recess portion so as to be movable inwardly in the lateral direction of the floor plate. An auxiliary member which can be deformed by compression is provided at a part corresponding to the second recess portion.
Abstract: A camera is provided, which can appropriately control the electronic flash irradiation area when the electronic flash device capable of setting its irradiation angle in a plurality of ways is used as an AF auxiliary light source, thus improving the use efficiency of the auxiliary light and reducing wasteful energy consumption. In the camera of the present invention, the control unit automatically controls an electronic flash irradiation angle to the narrow electronic flash emitting unit regardless of the imaging angle which was set, while performing the distance measurement operation in cooperation with the electronic flash.
