  • Patent number: 6320356
Abstract: A power unit is provided which is capable of controlling electric current to be supplied to a load connected to the power unit, in a flexible manner in dependence on a load condition. Postive and negative converters of a cycloconver are connected to three-phase output windings of a three-phase generator and connected in an antiparallel manner to each other for generating a single-phase alternating current to be supplied to the load. A firing angle control device causes the positive and negative converters to be alternately switched to operate every half a repetition period of the single-phase alternating current, to thereby cause the cycloconverter to generate the single-phase alternating current. A desired wave-forming circuit forms a desired waveform of a drive signal input to the firing angle control device, for causing the firing angle control device to drive the positive and negative converters, such that the output single-phase alternating current has a desired alternating current waveform.

  • Patent number: 6320138
Abstract: A wiring substrate is disclosed, which has optimal characteristics for, for example, an active matrix type liquid crystal display device with a thin film transistor. Wiring formed of an Al-Nd-Ti alloy thin film is formed on a glass substrate, and if necessary, a semiconductor element which is electrically connected to the wiring is formed. In this case, the specific resistance of the Al-Nd-Ti alloy thin film is about 8 &mgr;&OHgr; cm if the Nd concentration is 0.75 at % and the Ti concentration is 0.5 at %. Further, even if the resultant substrate is heated at 240-270 C. after the formation of the wiring, occurrence of a hillock and a pinhole is substantially completely suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6320868
Abstract: A transmitting station transmits FM radio waves which carry program information, such as news, and time information representing the current time. Each of receivers generates the first time information in accordance with an internal clock, corrects the first time information in accordance with the time information transmitted from the transmitting station, and generates the second time information. Each receiver progresses a game by changing the image displayed on the display, in accordance with a predetermined element, which is obtained from the program information transmitted from the transmitting station, and the first or second time information. Therefore, the progress of the game differs depending on the reception of the second information and the time information, and accordingly the progress of the game is unexpectable.

  • Patent number: 6315939
Abstract: Stretch blow molded containers are made from a preform made of a plastic material suitable for stretch blow molding such as, e.g., PET. The preform is heated to a temperature suitable for stretch blow molding and is introduced into a mold. An explosive gas mixture is introduced into the preform with a stretching pressure and the preform is axially stretched with the help of a stretching rod. After stretching, the explosive gas mixture is ignited, the explosion creating a blowing pressure which presses the wall of the preform against the inner wall of the mold so as to impart to the container its definite form. Due to the temperature shock generated by the explosion, the inner surface of the container is simultaneously sterilized.
