Abstract: A collapsing clip including a plurality of collapsed self expanding wire frame segments is contained within the distal end of a catheter. The clip can be delivered to the neck of an aneurysm within the neurovascular system using a catheter. The collapsing clip impinges the distal and proximal framed wire segments onto the neck of the aneurysm. The framed wire segments are inter positioned so that the diamond shaped spaces between the wires are substantially blocked. The neck of the aneurysm is blocked by the distal and proximal framed wire segments forming a barrier.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for identifying and characterizing polynucleotide sequences in a sample which may include a heterogeneous sample. Some of the methods are directed to the identification and characterization of a virus in a sample, which may include HIV capable of cause AIDS or AIDS-like symptoms. The virus may be HIV-1, and may also include drug resistant mutations. The methods may include reacting a mixture that includes, in addition to nucleic acid isolated from the sample, at least one oligonucleotide capable of specifically hybridizing to HIV nucleic acid where the oligonucleotide includes at least one non-natural base. In addition, the methods may include detection of one or more mutations in HIV nucleic acid that are associated with drug resistance.
Abstract: Systems and methods which provide a hybrid network based solution for digital data file backup are shown. Embodiments utilize a transport mass storage system to provide transmission of digital data files between user equipment and a network based mass storage system. A manifest may be used to manage transporting and/or storage of digital data files. User equipment may then access the digital data files stored to the network mass storage system for various purposes using a network link. Subsequent, incremental backups and other transfers of relatively small amounts of digital data files are preferably accomplished using a network link for the transfer.

Abstract: Improved power control methods and power control systems are described wherein received RSSI values are processed to generate a power control signal which may be used by a link manager, or other element in a receiving station, to determine whether to send a power control message to the transmitting station. The method used to process the received RSSI values is dependent upon a value of the power measurement, for example, the method may involve a comparison between the value of the power measurement and a value of the power control signal. In another embodiment, the received RSSI values may be converted to power values and then smoothed using a filter.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing simultaneous assignment, the method comprising receiving multiple Forward Link Assignment Blocks (FLABs), determining if ChIDs are set to ChIDDEASSIGN for one of the FLABs and discarding all FLABs except the FLABs having a ChIDs set to ChIDDEASSIGN if one of the received FLABs has a ChIDs set to ChIDDEASSIGN.
Abstract: Novel polymorphic forms of bosentan and processes for their preparation are disclosed. Further, pharmaceutical compositions comprising said polymorphic forms and the use of said compositions in the treatment of patients suffering from endothelin receptor mediated disorders, for example, cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, ischemia, vasospasm and angina pectoris are disclosed.
Abstract: Microspheres, populations of microspheres, and methods for forming microspheres are provided. One microsphere configured to exhibit fluorescent and magnetic properties includes a core microsphere and a magnetic material coupled to a surface of the core microsphere. About 50% or less of the surface of the core microsphere is covered by the magnetic material. The microsphere also includes a polymer layer surrounding the magnetic material and the core microsphere. One population of microspheres configured to exhibit fluorescent and magnetic properties includes two or more subsets of microspheres. The two or more subsets of microspheres are configured to exhibit different fluorescent and/or magnetic properties. Individual microspheres in the two or more subsets are configured as described above.
Abstract: Techniques for multi-channel acoustic echo cancellation include adaptive filtering. An adaptive filter can use a lattice predictor of order M coupled to an adaptive LMS/Newton filter of length N, wherein M<N. The lattice predictor can provide decorrelation of the input to the LMS/Newton filter and can provide faster convergence for the LMS/Newton filter. Efficient operation of the LMS/Newton filter can also be provided by using output from the lattice predictor to provide low complexity update of weights for the LMS/Newton filter.

Abstract: MIMO detection is described that reduces the complexity of computations for finding the soft bit output. The detection process includes QR factorization splitting the distance calculations into two groups, subset lookup using a last cross constellation set (LCCS) lookup, and minimal distance lookup with soft bit output calculation. By grouping the distance calculations into a first group that has one antenna transmitting using a modulation scheme with a generally square constellation diagram and a second group for all of the other antenna constellation diagrams, the LCCS lookup process may be used which substantially reduces the number of calculations to be made in the detection process. Moreover, in the special case of 2×2 antenna, QR factorization is performed by applying a scaled Givens rotation to the channel matrix. The application of the scaled Givens rotation operator eliminates any square root operations that would be performed in a standard QR factorization.
