Abstract: A golf ball being adapted to be capable of being stroked in the direction in which the center of gravity of the ball is made to coincide with the center thereof. Marks are placed on the ball to identify hit points and lead points, the hit points being those at which a first diameter line passing through the center of gravity of the ball intersects the surface of the ball and the lead points being those at which a second diameter line perpendicular to the first diameter line intersects the surface of the ball. Alternatively, marks capable of identifying the direction of the diameter line joining the hit points are set on the lead points.
Abstract: Running sole structuring for a ski, especially for a cross-country ski.The object of the invention is to provide a new profiling which combines optimum gliding and climbing characteristics. Abstract: Process and apparatus for the preliminary determination of the efficiency of the trays of distillation and/or absorption columns in order to establish the actual tray number of the columns, as well as for those columns the tray number of which was determined thereby. Each column section of different geometry or load is loaded with a set of trays (12) with air water system consisting at least of two trays having identical geometry (13,13a) and one air distributor (14). On the basis of the recognition that each set of trays (12) may be regarded as a cascade consisting of mixers which include series-connected mixers formed from the trays (13,13a), the liquid content of which is mixed by ascending vapor, or gas, in this case by air.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of .alpha.- and .gamma.-interferon by isolating the buffy coat fraction of blood, removing the erythrocytes, suspending the leukocytes in a suitable nutrient medium and treating with an .alpha.-interferon inducer and with a .gamma.-interferon inducer, which comprises producing .alpha.-interferon and .gamma.-interferon one after the other in the same leukocyte culture by pre-treating the suspension obtained after the separation of the leukocyte/buffy coat/fraction of blood, removal of the erythrocytes and suspending the leukocytes in a suitable nutrient medium with - or .beta.-interferon, contacting with an .alpha.-interferon inducer, separating the liquid containing the .alpha.-interferon from the cells, if desired recovering the -interferon, washing and suspending the cells in a suitable nutrient medium, treating with a mitogenic agent, separating the liquid comprising .alpha.-interferon from the cells and if desired recovering .alpha.
Abstract: Process and apparatus for the heating of pasty materials with surface and infusion type heating, wherein the two heating systems are combined in such a manner that first the pasty material is preheated by surface heating, then it is heated to the required final temperature by infusion heating due to the arrangement that the two heating systems are placed above each other. Also the preheated material is admitted into the infusion space lying below with a vertical velocity component and where it is elutriated in a field of gravity and drop formation takes place simultaneously with the preheating.

Abstract: A plug-in type contact arrangement for high power electrical apparatus such as switch gear, wherein a fixed contact member carries a plurality of contact fingers having roller contacts mounted at one end thereof for reliably contacting a movable contact member when such movable contact member is forced into a contacting relationship with the fixed contact member and entering the cage-like receptacle formed by the circularly arranged contact fingers, and wherein the contact fingers are crimped at a predetermined point forming a first longitudinal portion and a second longitudinal portion arranged in different axial planes and connected by the crimping region, thereby transforming the contact pressure formed between the movable contact member and the roller contacts into a torsional load exerted on the contact fingers.

Abstract: A weld inspection process and an associated system for the determination and assessment of weld seams by first producing a flawless weld seam on a test specimen, making a point by point inspection of the test specimen using a pair of alternately pulsed X-ray or gamma ray sources, while generating signals which may be simultaneously displayed and stored, to form a permanent record of the test specimen weld seam, on a target plate. A point by point comparison of is made of a new, similar weld and the recorded image is instantaneously compared with the previously recorded, stored image of the flawless test weld. In the event of identical images, that point of the weld is deemed flawless, while a lack of identity indicates a flaw, in which event, the defective position is marked for subsequent repair, removal or total rejection.
Abstract: The invention relates to a high pressure sodium vapor lamp having improved color reproduction index, which has a discharge vessel (1) placed in an outer envelope (10) and at least a pair of electrodes (4,5) and a filling comprising of at least one additive material and a fill gas, as well as a pair of current conductors (6,7) for supplying current for the electrodes (4,5). The essence of the invention resides in that especially in the case of high pressure sodium vapor lamps of low output for the increasing of the color reproduction index filaments (2,3) are arranged at the ends and outside of the discharge vessel (1) and which during the entire operation of the discharge vessel (1) are connected in series therewith.
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for performing routine analyses such as polarographic or spectrophotometric analysis on a large set of sample solutions filled into separate sample cups being arranged on or shaped in a sample cup holder (101) along a moving path, wherein the samples are in consecutive cycles sucked out of the sample cup (102) by a suction tube (103) and transferred into a common vessel, wherein the analysis will be performed. The vessel (105) has a lower outlet (107) communicating with an analyzer cell (112) or the ambient space over a channel (116) which is only effective if the sample level in the vessel (105) exceeds a certain threshold level, and an aspirating mouth (108) in the upper part of the vessel (105) communicating over a valve (109) with the ambient space. The suction tube (103) has a fixed end coupled to the inlet (106) of the vessel (105) and a free end can be moved into two different working positions.
