Abstract: A burner utilizing a low pressure fan for atomizing oil and supplying air for combustion. The burner includes an air-tube, an air-atomizing nozzle disposed in the air-tube, a conduit for supplying oil to the nozzle, and a fan for supplying air to the air-tube. A back plate, a retention plate, and a side ring meter primary air to the nozzle and provide a chamber through which secondary air passes around the nozzle. The side ring is provided with a plurality of apertures for directing secondary air inwardly into a chamber desirably normal to the direction from which the secondary air is discharged therefrom. Also disclosed is a novel three-piece air-atomizing nozzle.

Abstract: A training aid for developing a golfer's swing which comprises a swing assembly having reference markings disposed thereon which define a desired swing path for a golf club relative to the reference markings. The training aid further comprises a light source which continually casts at least a portion of a golfer's shadow and a shadow of the golf club onto the swing assembly in general relation to the markings allowing the golfer to readily visualize and compare his/her swing path with an "ideal" swing path during a golfer's swing.

Abstract: A card game particularly suited for gaming wherein, in addition to payouts determined by the rank of a player's hand against a predetermined payout schedule or against the hands of a dealer or other players, a player may qualify for a payout determined by a movable payout indicator, preferably in the form of a rotatable wheel. A player can qualify for a spin of the wheel which indicates a prize by attaining a predetermined hand or one of a plurality of a predetermined hands. As an additional condition, the player may be required to place more than a minimum wager in order to qualify for a payout determined by the movable payout indicator. A player who has won a prize from a spin of the wheel may also be provided with an opportunity to double his winnings with an additional actuation of the movable payout indicator or in some other fashion.

Abstract: A device for repairing a damaged vehicle includes a generally V-shaped base having a first substantially horizontal elongated member and a second substantially horizontal elongated member which are fixedly attachable to each other at an angle less than 90 degrees. At least a pair of slidably attachable clamps on the first member attach to two locations of a vehicle, and preferably to two pinch weld locations of a unibody. A slidably attachable clamp on the second member attaches to a third location on the vehicle, and preferably to a pinch weld location on a unibody. In one embodiment, the first member and the second member are pivotally attached to one another for varying the angle therebetween.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for measuring the ability of a fluid to transmit radiation therethrough, the apparatus comprises a chamber for receiving the fluid and associated means for examining the transmission of radiation through the fluid at different parts of the chamber given that the means is adapted to differentially facilitate an examination of said transmission at different parts of the chamber.

Abstract: Methods of playing games and gaming devices useful with playing games comprise a standard gaming unit, e.g., three reels, and a discernible additional payout indicator. The additional payout indicator comprises a value selector and a multiplier, wherein the multiplier comprises a pinball-type game. According to a preferred embodiment the multiplier also comprises a rotatable reel into which the pinball drops in order to determine one of a plurality of values. The points attained during the pinball-type game play are utilized in the calculation of the multiplier value.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine designed to convert thermal energy into mechanical energy according to the same general principle employed in conventional reciprocating piston-and-cylinder combustion engines, wherein the equivalent of the cylinder of the conventional engine is replaced by two series of chambers, a first series and a second series, each series of chambers being separately disposed in a circumferential arrangement about a common axis and separated in space one from another and wherein the conventional piston is replaced by one or more vanes, said vanes being adapted to form sealing contact with the chambers and the two series of chambers being connected by one or more transfer ports wherein air is compressed in one series of chambers and combustion gasses are exhausted by means of the other series of chambers.

Abstract: A holder attachable to a golf cart for holding a scorecard protected from the rain, a timepiece, and/or a beverage container such as a can or a cup. The holder includes a generally planar panel and a cover pivotally attached to the panel. The cover has an outer surface provided with a pair of resilient clips which define a first location for holding a scorecard. The panel has a top surface provided with a pair of resilient clips which define a second location for securing the scorecard. The cover is pivotal between a closed position covering the second location for holding and protecting the scorecard during rain and an open position for recording a score on the scorecard.

It is easily held in the user's hand so that the fan and the mister can be operated separately by thumb or index finger. A small hole is provided in the housing for the outlet of the atomizer.

Abstract: An device for administering eyedrops from an eyedrop container to an eye of a user, comprising an eyeglass frame and eyedrop guide wherein the eyedrop guide is attached to the eyeglass frame and is variably adjustable over the user's eye for facilitating dispersement of an eyedrop. A level indicator or alarm is used to determine when the guide or the eyedrop container is ideally positioned for eyedrop administration.

Abstract: A thermal fluid receptacle, e.g., a vacuum flask, comprises a complete unit which is subdivided into a main fluid container A and a cup compartment B. Fluid from the main container may pass into the cup compartment by depressing a switch H and subsequently opening a stopper G between the main fluid container and the cup compartment. Another switch J located on the cup operates a stopper F on the top of the cup compartment allowing fluid in the cup to be accessed via an aperture E. Thus, the above receptacle enables fluid to be moved from one compartment, which may be heated, cooled, or enclosed by a vacuum, to another compartment all within the same receptacle.

Abstract: An electric baseboard heater includes a ceramic glass block within which a steel wire electric heating element is insert molded. The ceramic glass block is mounted in a heater housing which includes a lower draft opening below the ceramic glass block and an upper air outlet above the ceramic glass block. When a voltage is applied to the steel wire, heat is generated by the wire and is absorbed and radiated by the ceramic glass block. Cool air is drawn into the draft opening in the housing and up past the ceramic glass block whereupon it exits the air outlet heated by the ceramic glass block. The heater is efficient because the ceramic glass heats very quickly and continues to radiate heat for a period of time after the voltage is removed from the steel wire. It is safe because the hot electric heating element is contained within the ceramic glass where it cannot contact flammable items.

Abstract: A cylinder and sleeve combination, such as those found in fluid control devices, having closely positioned moving elements that leach one or more substances upon sustained contact with the subject, reactive fluid. One embodiment comprises a metering pump which utilizes small clearances that were heretofore unacceptably tight for the applications disclosed. The materials used to form at least one of the moving elements allow a substance to leach out of the moving elements as a result of a chemical reaction with the fluid, and the leached substance undergoes a separate reaction with the fluid which causes it to coagulate. The various embodiments of the present invention avoid binding of the moving elements by providing at least one scraping edge which continuously scrapes away the coagulum forming between these elements. The scraping edge is advantageously configured so as not to interfere with the operative movement of these elements.
