  • Patent number: 7993268
Abstract: A method for enhanced exercise training or performance utilizing intentional controlled tachypnea and somatic sensory alkalosis biofeedback training to maintain an essentially non-acidic state during exercise. A trainee is instructed to decrease measured transcutaneous CO2 levels by increased ventilation and to correlate measured transcutaneous CO2 levels with subjective somatic symptoms. Studies under exercise conditions measure the intensity of exercise correlating to an onset in blood acid accumulation in the trainee and such level of intensity is in turn correlated with a predetermined heart rate. The trainee is then instructed to use heart rate and somatic sensory changes as a guide to the need for increased ventilation to lower blood CO2. In another embodiment, the method of the instant invention utilizes intentional controlled tachypnea to increase maximum breath holding time.

  • Patent number: 7972226
Abstract: A composite locking upright having low weight and great rigidity for installation into a playing surface with built-in sleeves. The composite locking upright supports and secures a net at a playing height for athletic sports such as, volleyball, tennis, and badminton. The composite locking upright may have a composite tube, a multi-material tube, an upper and a lower protective collar, and a locking tool. The composite tube may be made of a light-weight, fiber-reinforced composite. The multi-material tube may be made at least in part of the same material and may incorporate at least one abrasion resistant area, which may be a partial or full thickness insert and may be, but is not necessarily, formed of a metal. The multi-material tube is extendable and retractable from the composite. The locking tool locks the multi-material tube with respect to the composite tube and thereby fixes a net at a playing height.

  • Patent number: 7958682
Abstract: A window film anchoring having at least one film retaining limb, one frame retaining limb and central area, with the central area disposed between the at least one film retaining limb and the at least one frame retaining limb. In some embodiments, the device may have at least one anchor limb confluent with the central area working surface with at least one anchor ridge releasably engagable with at least one portion of a window frame. Windows barbs and anchor barbs may help attachment the device in use. In some embodiments, the body has a uniform material composition throughout, and may be attachable with double-sided tape, particularly with a heat activated double-sided tape. In another embodiment, the window film anchoring device may have a body with at least one film retaining limb at least one frame retaining limb and at least one central area having at least one bend promoting area.

  • Patent number: 7957852
Abstract: An aviation yoke HSI interface and flight deck control indicator and selector safety system enhances flight safety. The system incorporates a multi-controlled HSI with a yoke heading adjustment control, a yoke VOR radial selector, and a yoke heading centering control positioned on the captain yoke. The system may also incorporate a first officer multi-controlled HSI with a first officer yoke heading adjustment control, a first officer yoke VOR radial selector, and a first officer yoke heading and course centering control positioned on the first officer yoke. An autopilot mode indicator visually indicates whether an autopilot is flying according to a desired heading or according to a VOR radial signal. A side selector-indicator control permits selection of which side controls the flight of the aircraft. A first control unit and a second control unit may be in electrical communication with both sides to fly the aircraft in autopilot.

  • Patent number: 7942837
Abstract: A composite moldable splint having at least a first splinting member with an inner foam layer, an intermediate thermoplastic layer, and an external securing layer. The inner foam layer provides a soft, moisture transmitting, non-latex padding. The intermediate thermoplastic layer provides remoldable shape, and rigidity and strength after heat forming and cooling. The outer securing layer, preferably covered with continuous loop fabric suitable for hook and loop fastening, provides an essentially infinite plurality of attachment points for retaining straps including at least a section of hook fastening material for holding the splint in place. The layers of the composite moldable splint are preferably heat welded to form a strong unitary structure that is resistant to delamination. Composite moldable splints utilizing multiple splinting members are described.

  • Patent number: 7927226
Abstract: A putter head is provided which has a striking surface and is adapted to mount to a shaft of a putter. The putter head has an alignment apparatus which includes a sighting device and a flat surface. The sighting device has an upright element and a base element which is symmetrically positioned around a bottom of the upright element. When viewed from above, centering the base element around the upright element every time positions a golfer's eyes and head in the same position every time. The flat surface is centered under the upright element. The flat surface whereby positioning the flat surface on a surface positions the putter head in the same relationship with the surface every time.

  • Patent number: 7922602
Abstract: A golf putter head having a vertically curved putter face with multiple horizontal contact facets. The face has a vertical radius of curvature that is at least 2 inches and no more than 3.5 inches. The face includes a plurality of horizontal contact facets that are vertically curved to match the vertical radius of curvature. The contact facets, along with the radius of curvature, ensure that no more than two of the horizontal contact facets contact the golf ball when struck by the putter head at a speed of less than 15 miles per hour. The putter produces a horizontal linear contact, or impact, geometry that compensates for misdirection of the path of the putter head throughout the stroke of the putter head. At least one of the horizontal contact facets is located at an elevation above the center of curvature and at least one is located below.
