Abstract: An adjustable wrench including a head having parallel jaws. The parallel jaws include a first fixed jaw and a movable second jaw. The second jaw is mounted to the head for parallel, sliding movement relative to the first jaw. The wrench also includes a first handle rigidly coupled to the first jaw, and a second handle pivotally mounted to the first handle and coupled to the second jaw. The second handle is coupled to the second jaw such that movement of the handles relative to each other causes the parallel jaws to open and close.

Abstract: A method and system for forwarding an attachment sent to a wireless device includes receiving a message with an attachment within a wireless network, detecting the attachment, accessing a forwarding address associated with the message, and sending the attachment to the forwarding address.

Abstract: A locking device for securing a plug in a jack has a housing with a tang and an adjustable clamp with a lip. The housing fits over the plug with the tang blocking a latch arm of the plug from being moved to release the plug from the jack. The clamp is movable to a locked position with the lip engaging the catch surface to prevent the housing from being removed from the mounting position.

Abstract: A method and apparatus which provide for simultaneously monitoring and controlling multiple consumer devices located in a fixed and/or mobile environment includes a handheld RF communications device having multiple controls. In addition, a transceiver device is provided which simultaneously a) receives output signals from selected ones of the consumer devices and transmits the received output signals as radio frequency signals to the handheld communications device, and b) receives control signals from the handheld communications device, and relays the control signals to an associated consumer device to control the associated consumer device.

Abstract: Voice mail service in an environment having multiple voice mail technology platforms is provide by an Automatic Message Attendant (AMA) device and a subscriber profile database. The AMA device has a platform selector element that queries the subscriber profile database for voice mail technology platform indicator information, which it then uses to select a voice mail technology platform. Additionally, the AMA device may also have a greeting player and message recorder element that queries an announcement database, and a content adapter element that queries a message format requirement database. Thus, the AMA device may also provide call termination functionality by playing a greeting and recording a message from the caller, and converting the recorded message into a format suitable for use with the selected voice mail technology platform.

Abstract: A surveillance and reporting system (SRS) is provided that enables a user to monitor and generate reports from multiple related sources pertaining to events associated with each of these sources. The SRS is internet based, thereby providing access to remote users. The SRS also provides for identification of the sources by combining multiple databases related to each source in a tabular form in order to enable generation of complete reports and in order to enable sorting and filtering based upon more extensive source identification criteria. The SRS also accommodates changes in the underlying identification data by revising or generating up to date tables containing current identifying data for each of the multiple sources in a tabular form, thereby avoiding the need to reprogram the report procedures as a result of changes in the underlying data.

Abstract: A gutter-clearing tool having a scoop-plate and a top-plate where the front end of the top-plate is pivotally attached to the top end of the scoop-plate, and the top plate is attached to a rod. A pivot joint allows the scoop-plate to close upwardly toward the top plate when the apparatus is pushed through the gutter thereby providing a substantially reduced vertical profile, and allows the scoop-plate to open downwardly away from the top plate when the apparatus is pulled through the gutter thereby collecting debris and clearing the gutter.

Abstract: A voice mail system that provides a message scan mode that plays back only brief portions of each message, i.e., message snippets, saved in the voice mailbox queue. If the user takes no action while the message snippet is being played back, or within a short grace period after that, the system automatically skips to the next message in the queue and plays a snippet of that message without requiring any interaction on the part of the user. The user has the option of making a selection that causes the entire message to be played.

Abstract: A security system for wireless devices such as mobile phones includes a wireless signal transmitter, and a signal strength detector and microprocessor associated with the wireless device being safeguarded. The microprocessor disables or locks the wireless device if the measurement by the detector of the strength of the signal transmitted by the wireless transmitter is less than a predetermined value, thereby indicating that there is more than a predetermined separation distance between the protected device and the transmitter, i.e., that, e.g., someone has taken the device. The disabled wireless device stays disabled until the measured signal strength is again greater than the predetermined value. Once this value is reached the device is automatically unlocked or enabled.

Abstract: A system and method for mounting a telescopic sight or “scope” to a firearm. The system is convertible or universal, in that it includes interchangeable mounting plate inserts allowing the mounting plate to be installed onto two or more different types of firearms having differing mounting hole configurations.
