The lower end of the frame has a perimeter beam base, a raised floor and a pair of open-ended parallel fork tine tubes or sockets that communicate with the perimeter beam at the front and rear of the frame, preferably being structurally connected (e.g., welded) thereto. Openings in the perimeter beam base align with the forklift tine tubes or sockets. The frame includes a plurality of fixed side walls extending upwardly from the perimeter beam that include at least left and right side walls.
Abstract: A flat-panel display comprises a projector (21-23) illuminated by a collimate light source such as an infra-red laser, a waveguide (1) which ejects rays at a distance along the axis of propagation related to their angle of injection into the edge of the waveguide, an input slab (3) for magnifying the projected image in the width dimension in the plane of the panel perpendicular to the axis of propagation, and a phosphor output screen which converts the infra-red light to the visible. The use of monochromatic light within the waveguide reduces dispersion problems, and the use of a triad of projectors, each injecting at a different angle, makes registration relatively simple.
Abstract: The invention provides a protective case for stringed musical instruments, comprising a base part and a top part. A plurality of soft, cushioned support members, located in the base part and the top part, holds the instrument when positioned in the closed case. The position of these support members limits the possible contact of the body of the enclosed instrument with the interior of the case to the lateral rim of the back, the ribs, and the lateral rim of the soundboard. Possible contact between the most vulnerable parts of the instrument (i.e. the center portions of the back and the soundboard) and the interior of the case is eliminated, resulting in a substantially reduced likelihood of damage to the instrument during storage and transportation. Several alternate embodiments of the invention are also disclosed.
Abstract: A spool design for fishing reels is discosed, allowing for the reversible separation of the spool into different parts for the easy removal of old fishing line and wherein a specially configured aperture is exposed upon separation of the spool parts, allowing for the introduction of one end of the line into the interior of the spool. The line can be attached to the inside of the spool, providing for a secure fastening of the line without exposure of the knot to the exterior of the spool.
Abstract: A method of assisting production of an oil and/or gas well involves reducing the pressure at the top of a well and aid in oil and gas production. If any gas exists in the produced fluid, gas expansion at the resulting reduced pressure will reduce the fluid density in the production pipe, thus further assisting fluid production. If some secondary production enhancement is in use (balance beam, downhole pump, gas lift, surfactant, etc.), this invention will increase the efficiency of the secondary lift. If supplemental gas is introduced anywhere along the production pipe as a “gas lift” method of secondary production, this supplemental gas expansion at the resulting reduced pressure will reduce the fluid density in the production pipe, thus further assisting fluid production.

Abstract: A secured debit card package having an embedded value and being adapted to be sold from open and unprotected retail shelving. The secured debit card package comprises a debit card, formed as from a first material bearing a card identification number, and packaging means formed as from a second different material securing the debit card thereto, the packaging means defining a window through which the card identification number is visible, a magnetic stripe disposed on the packaging means, the magnetic stripe bearing an encoded representation of a card identification number borne by the debit card, the stripe being positioned to be scanned by a terminal for reading the encoded representation from the packaging means and for transmitting the encoded representation to a remote processing center for testing of the representation to determine whether the debit card should be activated. A method for providing security for the embedded value of a debit card is also disclosed.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing a tubular member (e.g., leg of an abandoned or obsolete fixed platforms in a marine environment) is provided. The apparatus includes a delivery system having a frame carrying explosive shaped charges. The frame includes charges having curved sections which can be moved relative to one another for engaging the inside bore of a tubular member to be severed. The charges are biased (e.g., spring loaded) to be moved automatically to an extended position that engages the tubular member (e.g., platform leg) when a trigger is activated from a remote location. The trigger can be a pin carried in a tube with wires connecting each curved charge section to the pin. When the pin is lifted from its tube, the wires are released enabling the springs to thrust the charges against the inside of a pipe, leg or tubular member to be cut. Once in this position, the charges can be fired.
Abstract: A versatile quick change tooling system for internally and externally mounted machine tools which provides components adaptable to a system which is easy to maintain since it has no moving parts. The system would allow for universal adaptation of both internal and external tools on a machine turret and would include a turret having a face portion for mounting tools thereon; a plurality of receivers adjustable to centerline engaged either to the face portion or the perimeter portion of the turret; a tapered bore formed into each of the receivers; a tool holder, with a tool secured to a first end, and having a second end being a tapered shank to be positioned within the tapered bore of each of the receivers; a retainer secured to the tapered shank to secure each tool holder to each receiver; and allowing each of the tool holders mounted to the receivers to be easily removed by unsecuring the retainer from the tapered shank, and replacing the tool holder with a new tool holder and tool secured thereupon.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved method and apparatus for joining aluminum allow panels (eg. 2090-T83 aluminum lithium alloy). The method preliminarily positions two panels and skin panels next to each other so that a stringer panel overlaps a skin panel. A friction stir weld pin tool penetrates through one panel and at least partially into another panel. The panel material around the pin tool is frictionally heated.
Abstract: A furniture article of improved construction includes a furniture frame having a portion that is receptive of a bracket having a configuration that enables attaching a leg thereto in an adjustable way. Each of the legs that attaches to the furniture frame attaches to a single of the brackets. A plurality of the brackets can be attached to the frame. Each of the brackets has a slot that receives a connector (e.g. internally threaded nut), the connector traveling in the slot between inner and outer positions. A user can select the position of a leg relative to the furniture frame by attaching the leg to the nut using a threaded fastener for example, and sliding the nut and leg relative to the bracket and frame until a selected position is reached. Further tightening of the leg relative to the nut and bracket affixes the position of the leg relative to the article of furniture in the desired position.
Abstract: A frame apparatus which is positionable on the tines of a forklift which includes a pair of lower feet portion, having an upper flat surface, and having an opening therethrough in which the forklift tines remain fully inserted therein so that the frame work is fully positioned on the tines of the forklift. There is further included a rear wall portion, which rests against the forklift which can be secured thereto. Further there is provided a pair of sidewalls extending a distance out from the rear wall, in parallel relation to the pair of foot members, so as to define a first large opening into which a load such as a drum or container may be placed, first and second bar members positioned between the rear portion and each of the wall members, which when in a first down position, define a small opening therebetween to accommodate a smaller container, and when in a second up position define the larger space to accommodate the larger container between the wall members.
Abstract: A method and system of drilling straight directional and multilateral wells utilizing hydraulic frictional controlled drilling, by providing concentric casing strings to define a plurality of annuli therebetween; injecting fluid down some of the annuli; returning the fluid up at least one annulus so that the return flow creates adequate hydraulic friction within the return annulus to control the return flow within the well. The hydraulic friction should be minimized on the injection side to require less hydraulic horsepower and be maximized on the return side to create the desired subsurface friction to control the well.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of producing an oil, water, and gas well using a gas carrier/transport system to remove produced liquids and contained solids by altering the flow regime of the production fluids towards or into a flow regime in which gas is the continuous fluid. This can be accomplished by use of supplemental gas flow (hydrocarbon or non-hydrocarbon) and/or stimulation of the production sand or coal bed gas flow with a reduced pressure drop across the well once near or in a gas-continuous flow regime. This invention can be applied to any well with insufficient formation gas pressure to prevent liquid buildup within the well during production. The present invention utilizes a second production pipe (or the annulus between the casing and the pipe), sized to transport compressed gas from the wellhead area down into the production liquid and into the production pipe. This flow of gas will cause the well fluids to flow up the pipe by approaching or entering a gas-continuous flow regime.
