Abstract: A dormant preparation (DC) is provided which is capable of inhibiting proliferation of various kinds of cells. The preparation comprises an extract which is obtained from cells or tissue originating in an organism capable of entering a phase of dormancy in at least one of its parts and comprises at least one substance which induces or maintains the state of dormancy in the organism from which the cells or tissue are derived. The DC may be used for a variety of indications including human medicine and cosmetics, plant growth control and food preservation.

Abstract: A stencil disposal box is detachably provided to a stencil printing machine main body, and used stencil sheets are stored therein when the stencil disposal box is mounted to the stencil printing machine main body. An opening, through which a stencil sheet is conveyed, is formed on the stencil disposal box. The stencil disposal box includes a stencil disposal box main body for storing the conveyed stencil sheets, a sweeping member rotatively provided so as to move between an innermost position approximately adjacent to an inner surface of the stencil disposal box main body and a sweeping position located more adjacently to the opening side than the innermost position, and an operation lever portion, which can operate the movement of the sweeping member. This operation lever portion can be operated while gripping a handle portion.

Abstract: More than 90% of mutations found in the p53 protein produce a conformational change in p53 which results in the exposure of an epitope, which is otherwise hidden in the hydrophobic core of the molecule. A single chain antibody (scFv) which specifically recognizes this common mutant epitope in mutant p53 but not in wild type p53 is disclosed. Also described are a DNA molecule encoding the scFv, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the antibody and methods of treatment using the pharmaceutical compositions.

Abstract: Sintered light expanded clay aggregates are described that are prepared by expanding and firing a clay-based material, and where the finished aggregates have a diameter of up to about 32 mm, for use as filtration medium for purifying water, wherein carbonates of calcium and/or magnesium are added to the clay as flux material prior to expansion and firing. Uses of the expanded clay aggregates for removing phosphorous by utilising die clay aggregates are also described, as well as a method for removing phosphorus by using the clay aggregates.

Abstract: A method for controlling a transducer device (7) featuring supply lines (17, 18) in a level sensor. The transducer device (7) is coupled to a fork resonator with fork tines and is used for both oscillation excitation and also for oscillation detection. For detection of a defective transducer device or an incorrectly connected connection of this transducer device (7), the capacitance value between the supply lines (17,18) or a variable proportional to this value is determined during the oscillation excitation and if there is deviation from a predetermined desired value by a predetermined amount, a fault signal is generated.

Abstract: A method and circuit for distinguishing between a first voltage signal having a high amplitude and a second voltage signal having a low amplitude, the first and second voltage signals comprising respective AC components superimposed on a DC level. The DC level of the first and second voltage signals is blocked and the respective AC components of the first and second signals are attenuated by an attenuation factor which is voltage dependent and substantially frequency independent, so that the respective AC components of the first and second voltage signals after attenuation have similar amplitudes. The respective attenuated AC components of the first and second voltage signals are then processed so as to distinguish between the first and second voltage signals according to their respective frequencies.
Abstract: By means of a holder for a roll of unwindable material, in particular a holder for paper rolls, preferably for standing a paper roll vertically on a horizontal surface, with a cylindrical holding, rod (1), a base (5) and an essentially known pivotal retaining arrangement for the free end of the paper roll, the object is to provide a holder in which the roll is retained on the holder in a stable manner also when different widths of paper are used, and where the cost of manufacture can be reduced through a simple embodiment and few components. This object is realised by the retaining arrangement (2) being pivotally attached to a detachable cover (3) that moves along the axis of the holding rod and which is equipped with a cylindrical skirt (4) that likewise moves axially along the holding rod, and where the diametrical dimensions of the cover are such that during application the cover is in contact with the end surface of the paper roll currently in use, and covers it at least partially.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to a pressure-measurement device with a pressure sensor (1) for measuring the pressure of liquid or gaseous media and with a diaphragm seal (2) that subjects measuring diaphragm (11) of pressure sensor (1) to a pressure to be measured. Pressure sensor (1) has a connection part (12) made of a ceramic material which is connected to measuring diaphragm (11) on the diaphragm side via a joint (14) that is diffusion-tight towards the exterior, and is connected diffusion-tightly to diaphragm seal (2) on the diaphragm seal side. In this way, it is assured that no gases or water vapor can enter the pressure-transfer medium via pressure sensor (1). The operational mode of the pressure transducer remains functional over a long time, and particularly at high temperatures.
Abstract: An electrically powered coolant pump particularly suited for an internal combustion engine has a pump housing having an elongate shape which encloses a pump wheel on the inlet side and subsequently downstream therefrom encloses an electric motor. An annular flow passage for the coolant is formed between the pump housing and the outside of the electric motor. The electric motor is encapsulated against the coolant, and the structural component of electric motor and pump wheel is retained in the axial range of the electric motor with at least one web in the pump housing through which connections for driving the electric motor are routed. The electric motor is cooled by the coolant flowing by, and may therefore be operated at very high rotational speeds, so that a small structural size and a low weight may be realized. Widely varying installation locations for the coolant pump are therefore possible.

Abstract: The invention relates to a die stamping method and to a device for performing the method.
The problem of the invention is to reduce the production of waste during die stamping.
This is brought about in that on supplying the foil web to the stamping station a sensor means monitors whether there is a defect therein. If a defect is detected, the foil web supply to the stamping station is controlled in such a way that the defect is conveyed through the stamping station between two stamping operations. Thus, the defect does not arrive in the stamping or printing area of the stamping station, so that no waste is produced.
