The tab may depend from a bracket installed within the rail channel, or may be cut out and bent into the channel from the web. The tab is rotatable about an axis situated at or adjacent the web.

    Abstract: A resilient clip adapted for internal installation within a rail having a longitudinally extending internal gap. The clip includes a lower leg that engages the base of the rail, and an intermediate leg, which engages a side wall of the rail. An indented upper leg of the clip is capable of clamping an elongate line, such as an electrical or communication line, in an elevated position in the upper section of the rail. Plural clips may be installed in the rail to support such a line at multiple spaced points along its length. A strengthening cable may be installed in the lower section of the rail, in overlying relationship to the lower legs of the clips.

Each rail is formed with an internal tray, within which a strengthening cable may extend. Vertical pickets are attached to the rails. The pickets are preferably characterized by a W-shaped profile, and preferably include longitudinal strengthening ribs. Each picket has a flat attachment surface in which a plurality of subsurface recesses are formed.

    Abstract: A swellable polymer gel composition for use in subterranean formations. The composition comprises water, a water soluble polymer, a water soluble crosslinking system and a swelling agent. The crosslinking system may be either a redox system or a chelating system. The amounts of the polymer and the crosslinking system are effective to form a substantially uniformly reacted tri-dimensional gel structure. To the gel solution, is added a swelling agent in an amount sufficient to increase the volume of the gel a predetermined percentage. The swelling agent may be a natural or a synthetic agent. A strengthening agent may be added to increase the gel strength of the composition. The composition has numerous uses and is particularly useful in oil industry applications such as plugging wells, sealing casing leaks and reducing water production from water-bearing hydrocarbon formations.

The cap is adapted to fit around the upper end of the post and is provided with recesses sized to clearingly receive the lower portion of a post picket therethrough. The recess are provided in a number equalling the number of post pickets. The bracket of the post closure extends from the lower surface of the cap can be received within the open upper end of the post. The bracket provides an attachment surface that bracingly engages the lower portion of each post picket when that post picket is received through a recess of the cap.

    Abstract: A bracket is formed from a channel-shaped lower section adapted for attachment to the post, and a channel-shaped upper section pivotably joined to the lower section at its upper end. The bracket is used in fence assembly to connect the end of a channel-shaped rail and a post. The upper section may be pivoted with respect to the lower section, as required to align the upper section with the terrain upon which the rail and post are to be installed. The upper section and lower sections of the bracket cooperate to define a pair of spaced pockets adapted to receive the spaced side walls of a rail. Engagement of the side walls of the upper section of the bracket with internally projecting longitudinal ridges in the rail channel interfere with lifting of the rail from the bracket. Externally projecting tabs on the side walls of the upper section interfere with longitudinal withdrawal of the rail from the bracket.

The ratio of major axis length to minor axis length in each loop is between about 2 and about 5. A third and upper barrier tape, formed from loops with a circular shape, is positioned between the two lower barrier tapes, in at least partially overlying relationship to the lower barrier tapes.

    Abstract: A panel, such as a fence panel, is assembled by a projection welding process from a plurality of upright members and a plurality of rails. The rails and upright members are first assembled into a flat panel framework, which is introduced into a welding area having multiple welding stations arrayed in a series of rows. Paired welding stations in adjacent odd- and even-numbered rows are positioned on opposite sides of the panel framework. Each welding station is characterized by at least two laterally spaced electrodes of opposite polarity, both situated on the same side of the panel framework. One electrode contacts an underlying rail, while the other electrode contacts an underlying upright member. A welding current transmitted between the electrodes causes an internal weld to form between the upright member and the rail at a projection within the rail channel.
