Abstract: A novel detection pixel micro-structure allowing the simultaneous and continuous detection of several discrete optical frequencies. A focal plane array comprises a plurality of multi-spectral detection pixels and a connecting platform to electrically connect the pixels. Each of the multi-spectral detection pixels form a resonant optical structure that comprises at least two periodic latticed dielectric reflectors, and at least one optical cavity between the said latticed dielectric reflectors. The latticed dielectric reflectors create a plurality of photonic bandgaps in the spectral response of the pixel. In addition, each optical cavity of the pixel comprises at least two optical resonant modes, corresponding to localized Bloch modes supported by the pixel dielectric structure, wherein each optical resonant mode is localized maximally at, and minimally away from, the optical cavity.

Abstract: A program interpreter which interprets and executes a numerical control program can recognize predetermined mnemonics (script mnemonics) prepared for instructions for setting, loading, and executing script programs. When the program interpreter recognizes the script mnemonic during interpretation and execution of the numerical control program, the program interpreter instructs execution of the script program (instance) indicated in the parameter of the mnemonic to a script engine. The script engine executes the instructed script program.

Abstract: A laser system for generating self-starting few cycle laser pulses or widely tunable laser pulses is provided. The laser system includes a modelocked pump source that provides a pulsed pump signal. A gain medium receives the pulsed pump signal. A resonator structure includes the gain medium and a plurality of mirrors. The resonator structure defines a laser operated in a CW-modelocked regime generating few-cycle laser pulses having a duration less then 30 fs.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of polar lipid-rich materials and preferably phospholipids. Preferably the polar lipid-rich materials are separated and recovered from de-oiled native raw materials by extraction with water and alcohol and use of density separation to separate the resulting mixture. The invention also includes an improved process for de-oiling the native raw material before extraction and recovery of the polar lipids.

Abstract: An image-forming apparatus includes: a receiving unit that receives a request of a user; a fixing unit that heats an unfixed image on a recording medium to thereby fix the same to the recording medium; an executing unit that executes at least one function that consumes electric power other than a fixing function by the fixing unit; and a controller that controls to reserve execution of the other function by the executing unit that is required to execute the request in the case where electric power consumption exceeds a prescribed value because a start-up operation of the fixing unit and the execution of the other function by the executing unit are performed in parallel, and the fixing unit is used to execute the received request during the start-up operation that raises the temperature of the fixing unit to a prescribed target temperature with a prescribed amount of electric power.
Abstract: A thin film transistor (TFT) includes a source electrode, a drain electrode, and a gate electrode. A gate insulator is coupled to the source electrode, drain electrode, and gate electrode. The gate insulator includes room temperature deposited high-K materials so as to allow said thin film transistor to operate at low operating voltage.
Abstract: A transparent thin film transistor device includes a transparent substrate, and a high dielectric constant insulator layer disposed over the transparent substrate at a defined temperature. A transparent semiconductor layer is disposed over the insulator layer.

Abstract: A RF amplifier includes a RF input section for receiving a RF input signal. At least one single-sided slow-wave structure is associated with the RF interaction section. An electron ribbon beam that interacts with the RF input supported by the at least one single-sided slow-wave structure so that the kinetic energy of the electron beam is transferred to the RF fields of the RF input signal, thus amplifying the RF input signal. A RF output section outputs the amplified RF input signal.
