  • Patent number: 4226190
Abstract: A display rack having a back wall, and at least two side walls, and having hinge means interconnecting between respective side walls and the back wall, such hinge means being located at spaced apart intervals whereby the side walls may be swung flat against the back wall for shipping, and may be swung away therefrom for erection, and having shelving dimensioned to fit between the two side walls when the same are swung apart and the shelving having fastening means integral therewith interengageable with the side walls whereby the shelving may be secured along either side edge to respective side walls, in supporting relation thereto, and at the same time interlocking such side walls together is predetermined spaced apart relation so that they are no longer swingable with respect to the back wall, and forming a rigid three-dimensional structure.

  • Patent number: 4217090
Abstract: A strip curing oven apparatus for treating a workpiece carrying a coating containing a vaporizable solvent which is oxidizable to provide at least part of the heat requirement of said oven apparatus and which oven apparatus comprises an oven having a plurality of oven zones, such workpiece being movable through said oven zones in sequence, radiant header means disposed within one said oven zone so as to radiate heat toward a workpiece moving through that oven zone, incinerator means for incinerating oven gases to oxidize solvent vapors contained therein and to discharge such gases, after incineration, at an elevated temperature and with a reduced solvent vapor content, into said radiant header means, first gas-transferring means for transferring oven gases containing untreated solvent vapors from at least one of said oven zones to said incinerator means, oven gas circulation means located in said oven zone containing said radiant header means for circulating oven gases for passage between said radiant header

  • Patent number: 4194631
Abstract: An envelope suitable for machine sorting equipment, the envelope being adapted to be used twice, once on an outward trip, and once on a return trip when the envelope is returned to the original sender and having front and back panels and two closure flaps namely an outward trip closure flap and a return trip closure flap, the return trip closure flap being concealed within the envelope during the outward trip, and being capable of being extracted from the interior of the envelope to reseal the envelope for its return trip, the outward closure flap and part of the front panel being removed from the envelope prior to the return, and the front panel having a perforation line whereby both the outward trip closure flap and part of the front panel may be removed when it is torn off, to open the envelope. The return trip flap then folds out and covers the gap in the front panel.

  • Patent number: 4047306
Abstract: A bore hole probe instrument having a point source of light, passing through a flexible tubular portion. The point of light, which originates at one end of the flexible tubular portion, is established for example by means of fibre optics, a laser or the like. At the other end of the flexible tubular portion there is located an automatic camera having an image screen, on which the point of light is received. As the flexible tubular portion bends, to follow the path of the bore hole, the light spot will be deflected on the image screen. The camera will photograph the position of the light spot on the image screen thereby providing an indication of the deviation of the bore hole.

  • Patent number: 4044694
Abstract: A cheque writing desk for use in conjunction with a customer control line rail system, which may be arranged in an essentially "free standing" manner in any appropriate location in the customer area of a bank, trust company or other location, and which may be used on one side for the writing of cheques and the like, and having a partition extending along the table, carrying deposit slips and the like on one side, and which on its reverse side may carry advertising pamphlets for the bank or any other purpose. The cheque writing desk has one or more couplings by means of which it may be connected with the line rail system at or about the point where the customers enter the line rail system.

  • Patent number: 4036074
Abstract: An anti-backlash gear system for use between a drive shaft and a driven shaft and wherein one said shaft is provided with a gear having helical teeth thereon, said anti-backlash system comprising a gear portion fixed to the other said shaft, and meshing with said helical gear, said gear portion having a width less than the width of said helical gear, a movable gear portion, slidably mounted on said shaft, and being slidable therealong towards and away from said fixed gear portion, said movable gear portion having a width less than that of said helical gear, and having helical teeth meshing therewith, spring means engaging said movable gear portion, and urging the same normally away from said fixed gear portion, and adjustable means for moving said movable gear portion towards said fixed gear portion, against the pressure of said spring.

  • Patent number: 4034527
Abstract: A log cabin type structure formed of horizontally arranged "log" type tongued and grooved planks having notched ends which are arranged to overlap and interfit with one another to form corners, and having holes drilled through such overlapping portions for reception of a vertical metal tie rod. In accordance with a feature of the invention, the holes are preferably slightly oversize with regard to the metal tie rod, thereby facilitating assembling of the structure. The holes in alternate logs will however be slightly misaligned with one another, such misalignment being produced in one of various different ways. As the logs are bedded down with one another, the misalignment of the holes causes the holes to bind tightly on the rod and thereby procures pressure on the log ends causing them to be drawn firmly into engagement with one another in the corners. Sealing surfaces formed transversely of the log ends are thus forced into pressurized mutually sealing engagement.
