Abstract: The following specification discloses an apparatus and method for providing lifting motion on a substantially symmetrical and compact basis for a pump through a linkage, comprising two members pivotally coupled for relative movement driven by a gear reducer. The first member is driven in a rotational manner with the second member connected thereto being rotationally driven at the same angular velocity, but in the reverse direction thereto. The angular velocity of the members can be controlled by gears, a timing chain and sprockets, or other timed drive means. As the first member rotates with the second member moving around the pivotal connection point at the same angular velocity, a lift point or pump connection is moved in a reciprocating manner to provide lift. The members can be appropriately counterbalanced. The members can also be provided on either side of the gear reducer to provide dual lift points. If a chain is used for timing the members, the chain can be enclosed in a housing with an oil bath.
Abstract: The disclosure herein sets forth an equipment shock mounting means for utilization with a container formed of plastic. The shock mounting means comprises a rigidified outer frame structure which can be formed as a portion of the edge regions of said container portions. The edge regions of the container portions can be formed with channel members which are suited to match each other so that when they come together they form a complete closure. Attached to the channel members are shock mounts extending interiorly and supporting an equipment shock mount structure for equipment to be mounted thereon. As an alternative, the edge region channel members can be substituted for mounting the shock mounts in the way of a frame member. The shock mounts extend inwardly to support the equipment shock mount means and receive equipment thereon.
Abstract: A diver's buoyancy compensator belt to be used with a diver's buoyancy compensator of the type that allows for increases and decreases of air to be provided thereto, depending upon the amount of buoyancy that is required. The buoyancy compensator belt has a first belt made of webbing for attachment to a buoyancy compensator and a backpack that in turn receives a tank connected thereto. The buoyancy compensator belt retains the buoyancy compensator around a diver's waist at distinct locations to allow for movement thereof which allows for the belt to expand and contract, due to the belt being made from an elastomeric material. The elastomeric material allows for a stretching and contraction of the belt, due to various pressure conditions and can be made of elastomeric foam having discrete cells therein. As the belt expands and contracts due to the discrete cells being pressurized at various depths, it compensates for the depth.
Abstract: The disclosure sets forth a breathing gas second stage regulator having a tilt valve for introducing breathing gas into a breathing box through means of a diaphragm flexing into the interior thereof. Lever means connect the tilt valve to the diaphragm so that as said diaphragm flexes internally it causes said lever to move and actuate the valve. A mouthpiece is connected to the interior of the chamber of the regulator for providing an inlet and outlet to a breather. The chamber at the mouthpiece interface is configured with a curved surface to enhance laminar flow and reduce turbulent flow into the chamber from the mouthpiece upon a user's exhalation. The curved surface limits backflow and stall, as well as limiting the separation of exhalation exhaust until proximate an exhaust valve. An exhaust valve opening within the chamber walls has an exhaust valve therein so that exhaust upon exhalation from a user can pass through said exhaust valve outwardly.

Abstract: The following specification discloses a diskette storage container having a base that has four upstanding walls that receive a plurality of pivotal slotted or fan tabbed individualized containers. The individualized pivotal containers have a plurality of slots provided by splines, ledges or webs on either side that receive diskettes therein and include a stepped base for exposing diskettes on a stair stepped basis within the slotted containers. Each individualized container is pivotally held on the base member by means of an upright securement formed as a pair of parallel walls forming a groove therein which receives a spindle formed in the bottom of the pivotal individualized container so that it can provide pivotal movement by the spindle moving in a rotational manner within the channel of the two upright walls forming the groove. The pivotal containers are enclosed within a hinged top cover that seats on the bottom base and provides for a dust cover and a protective case in cooperation with the base.
Abstract: The invention is a telemetric biomedical system for simultaneously transmitting a pacer pulse together with lower frequency ECG wave forms and a loose lead signal. The loose lead signal is a low frequency signal applied across the skin electrodes which are attached to a patient subject to cardiac monitoring. In the event that such electrodes should become detached or poorly coupled to the patient, the loose lead signal tends to become open circuited across the leads and can be detected. The loose lead signal and ECG wave form since from the patient, is transmitted in an FM/FM modulated signal, while the pacer pulse is separated from the ECG wave form prior to amplification and is simultaneously transmitted as an FM modulated signal. In addition thereto, various alarm signals are transmitted as FM modulated signals with the pacer pulse.
Abstract: A thermocouple containment chamber for use in conjunction with a high pressure vessel wherein such thermocouples are emplaced within an elongated conduit which receives a plurality of thermocouples for sensing temperatures to determine the temperature or reaction rate within the high pressure vessel in which they are emplaced. The conduit is secured to the vessel through the use of a flanged securement that in turn is welded to a concentric reducer with the thermocouples extending therefrom into a containment chamber of this invention. The containment chamber of this invention incorporates at least one access means in the form of a high pressure flanged cover permitting access to the containment chamber for the thermocouples so that they can be changed and serviced, and incorporates a valve for relieving pressure, as well as a pressure gauge.

Abstract: An insulated container for receiving food, beverages, ice, and the like having insulated side walls and a hinged cover. The hinged cover is hinged at an intermediate hinge point between first and second cover members wherein one of said covers has a channel extending from one side of the cover member to the other so that fluid flowing between said hinge point flows outwardly along said channel. The longitudinal edge of said channel has a bead which is received within a recess of said second cover member and a downward enlargement extending axially along said cover member extends into said channel. A further improvement includes sloping the channel so that gravitational flow of fluid can take place along said channel toward the exterior thereof. The entire container can be mounted on a cart for movement.
Abstract: Binary information recorded on magnetic tape is read from the tape and tracked in a manner which is independent of the data pattern on the tape. The time displacement error, TDE (used hereinafter interchangeably) between the data pulses from the tape and a phase-locked-loop reference signal is sampled and then held until the next subsequent opportunity at which the data from the tape can be updated. The TDE between a read binary one and a reference signal is measured by counting a plurality of reference pulses occurring between a reference edge marking the beginning of a data time window and the time at which a binary one is read from the tape. The accummulated count is sampled by a counter whose contents are then stored in a latch when the total TDE has been measured. The TDE in the latch is then used in the phase-locked-loop circuit to adjust the frequency of the reference signal to more nearly match the frequency of the data read from the tape.
Abstract: A racetrack convertible guardrail is disclosed herein which includes a plurality of spaced apart upright curved posts or stanchions. The curved posts or stanchions serve to support a racetrack rail which can be formed of metal or wood. Overlying the rail and the stanchions are a continuous number of sheets interfacing with each other to cover the stanchions and the rail for protection of a rider and a horse. Underlying the rail, stanchions and the protective cover is a second rail in the form of tubing or other rail forms supported by a hinged arm that can be utilized for sulky racing. The rail forms are supported by means of collars that are in turn supported by the hinged arm that underlies the stanchion. The collar and the tubing or rail forms can be connected to another form of stanchion that has a stake for supporting the stanchion, rail and tubing with the collars for purposes of grass racing and which can be removed by moving said stake and other components of the rail.
