Abstract: An adjustable stair stringer and railing construction assembly is disclosed. The assembly is adapted to use a pair of parallel stringer arms for each side of the stair, a riser/tread support bracket for each stair and alignment and spacing elements for spacing the support brackets along the stringers. The brackets include formations for spacing the stringers with respect to each other and for spacing adjacent brackets along the stringers. The brackets are initially pivotally attached to each of the stringers so as to be rotatably movable about their pivotal attachment as the stringers are moved axially. Axial movement of the stringers with respect to each other establishes the angle of rise of the stair. Treads and risers are attached to the brackets to form the stairs and railings are attachable to the stringer and bracket assembly to complete the construction.
Abstract: A pressure filter apparatus is shown and disclosed with a construction that permits the filter to be operated to produce food grade or pharmaceutical grade products where there are requirements for periodic cleaning, sterilizing or sanitizing of the apparatus. The structures of the filter apparatus are sloped or clad to drain any fluids away from the apparatus. The exterior can be washed in place and the interior can be washed with the exterior washing or can be operated with internal washing cycles.

Abstract: A stairway with a finished skirt/fascia board is formed using parallel stringers and tread/riser support brackets spaced and aligned along the stringers. The brackets are temporarily and pivotally attached to stringers and the stringers are moved parallel to and relative to each other to orient the stringers for the slope of the stairway. The pivotal attachment of the brackets to one of the stringers and the unattached stringer is moved into contact with the other stringer at mating faces. The brackets are them permanently attached to the parallel stringers. The mating faces of the stringers form a finished skirt/fascia board for the stairway. Several variations in contoured faces, including tongue and groove contours, for the mating surfaces provide for a smooth and clean looking skirt/fascia board on a finished stairway.
Abstract: A case for carrying and storing flexible objects including elongated and small objects in a manner which prevents or reduces the objects from becoming tangled. The case is a two sided case with a central plate or base with each side having an openable lid. The lids are hinged at one side of the case and the lids and base include a latching mechanism for each lid. The exterior of the lids are rigid while the interior of the base and the lids include flexible materials that secure the objects within the case when the lids are closed and provide ease of access to objects when the a lid is open. The latching mechanism includes cooperating elements that permit opening one lid only when that lid is above the base and prevent opening a lid when another lid is open. A locking system secures the lids in closed position.
Abstract: A stairway can be constructed by using movable tread/riser supports placed along a stairway stringer and the supports can be moved as a group or individually to accommodate a stairway slope of any desired degree. It is desirable to mark a stringer for the uniform equal spacing of the location for the tread/risers and to establish the pivot positions for mounting the supports on the stringer. The present invention is an apparatus that will permit a user to locate the desired pivot holes equally spaced and aligned along a stringer.
Abstract: A pressure-filter apparatus includes at least one filtration chamber coupled with a source of slurry. The filtration chamber is also coupled with a source of fluid at an elevated pressure, which may be arranged in series or in parallel with a source of wash fluid. The pressure-filter apparatus may also include a source of fluid at a conventional pressure. The source of fluid at elevated pressure has a limited volume for initially treating the slurry within the chamber. The source of fluid at conventional pressure has a substantially unlimited volume for completing the treating of slurry within the chamber. The relative volume capacity of the two fluid sources provides an improved efficiency in the treatment of the slurry and the overall efficiency of the apparatus by limiting the time and capacity of accumulation of elevated pressure fluid while using the conventional pressure for extended treatment of the slurry within the chamber.
Abstract: A boat hull having a tunnel structure along the bottom of the hull in the form of a truncated hollow partial cone indentation and extension parallel to the keel of the boat. The tunnel has a cone shape and has a truncated end attached to the bottom of the hull near the keel and a constant radius extension to an open end attached to the transom of the boat. The tunnel encloses a propeller shaft extending from the boat interior at the truncated end is cone shaped to the position of a propeller partially within the tunnel and then has a constant radius extension to the transom of the hull. The tunnel extension directs the forces from the propeller to the stern of the boat and the increased area surface of the bottom in a manner that increase the lift on the stern to assist in getting the boat into planing attitude from a starting attitude.
