  • Patent number: 8151322
Abstract: Systems and methods of authenticating user access based on an access point to a secure data network include a secure data network having a plurality of a network access points serving as entry points for a user to access the secure data network using a user device. The user is associated with a user identity, each network access point with a network access point identity. The user uses a user device to send an access request, requesting access to the secure data network, to the network access point, which then sends an authentication request to an identity server. The identity server processes the authentication request, by validating the combination of the user identity and the network access point identity, and responds with an authentication response, granting or denying access, as communicated to the user device via an access response. The secure data network may comprise an application level secure data network, in which the user uses the user device to request access to a network application.

  • Patent number: 8149242
Abstract: There is provided a graphics processing system that includes a main processing unit and a graphics processing unit (GPU). The main processing unit puts rendering commands generated using a graphics library in the queue of a command buffer in a main memory. In this process, the library function offered by the graphics library is converted into the rendering commands, without any rendering attributes retained in the library. The GPU reads and executes the rendering commands stacked in the command buffer, and generates rendering data in a frame buffer.

  • Patent number: 8146167
Abstract: Managing the use of an optical disc drive by a program at high security. An OS of a host apparatus 100 sends one user certificate incorporating the policy information defining the use contents permissible for the optical disc drive 200 and a user key to the optical disc drive 200 under a secure environment (S3). On the other hand, the program running on the OS is authorized, and the user key is passed to the authorized program (S6). The optical disc drive 200 authorizes the program using the user key within the user certificate and the user key for the program and specifies the policy information corresponding to the user key (S7). Thereafter, the optical disc drive 200 permits the application program to gain access to the self-resource within the limits of the contents defined in the policy information (S8).

  • Patent number: 8123971
Abstract: The invention relates to composites made of an elastic carrier medium comprising polynorbornene (PNR) and magnetisable particles which are polarized reversibly in a magnetic field. Thus the mechanical properties, such as e.g. storage modulus G? (describes the elastic behavior or the energy storage) and loss modulus G? (describes the viscous behavior or the energy dissipation), of such elastomer composites can be increased rapidly and reversibly within wide limits (up to approx. two orders of magnitude) as a function of an external magnetic field. Wide-ranging application possibilities are produced herefrom, e.g. for adaptive damping systems, in which the damping force can be adjusted via the strength of the magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 8121714
Abstract: A user selects a plurality of pieces of music data desired to be reproduced concurrently, at an input unit of an audio processing apparatus, from music data stored in a storage device. A reproducing apparatus reproduces selected music data respectively and generates a plurality of audio signals under the control of a control unit. An audio processing unit performs allocation of frequency band, extraction of a frequency component, time-division, periodic modulation, processing and allocation of a sound image, to respective audio signals under the control of the control unit. Then the audio processing unit attaches segregation information of audio signals and information on the degree of emphasis to respective audio signals. The down mixer mixes a plurality of audio signals and outputs as an audio signal having a predetermined number of channels, then an output unit outputs the signal as sounds.

  • Patent number: 8113953
Abstract: A player can be notified both visually and aurally that his/her action is recognized. A velocity vector-calculating unit calculates a velocity vector of the movement of an object manipulated by a player moving toward an assumable contact surface W by using an image of the movement of the player captured by a camera. A travel time calculating unit calculates the travel time required for the object to reach the contact surface W by using the velocity vector and a distance between the object and the contact surface W. A lag time acquisition unit acquires a lag time that sound output from a speaker takes to reach the player. A sound control unit allows the player to hear the sound substantially at the same time the object contacts the contact surface by outputting a predetermined sound after the time passes which is obtained by subtracting the lag time from the travel time.

  • Patent number: 8114106
Abstract: Catheter for aspiration, fragmentation and removal of removable material from hollow bodies, in particular of thrombi and emboli from human blood vessels, comprising a working head, a flexible transport screw, a flexible tube, and a cutting tool. The working head is independently displaceable along a guide wire, is arranged at the distal end of the catheter, and has at least one lateral opening. The flexible transport screw can be rotated at a distance by means of a rotary drive of a drive unit. The flexible tube surrounds the transport screw, is connected to the working head, and is intended for removing the detached thrombi and emboli fragments. The transport screw forms a shearing cutting tool in cooperation with the lateral opening of the working head, in order to comminute the detached thrombi and emboli between peripheral borders of the transport screw and borders of the lateral opening.

  • Patent number: 8096185
Abstract: The invention relates to improved methods and apparatus for performing ground vibration tests (so-called “ground vibration tests”) on an airplane. In the method according to the invention, the airplane is jacked up essentially undamped (“rigidly”) in conventional holding points with lifting devices. For purposes of the ground vibration test, the airplane is then excited to vibrate in a known manner using a plurality of vibration exciters, and the vibrations are acquired with a plurality of measuring transducers, in particular accelerometers. A dynamic vibration model of the airplane theoretically calculated beforehand can here be adjusted. The boundary conditions are removed during or after the ground vibration test, meaning the influence of the lifting device is “mathematically canceled out”, so that the determined measured values reflect the so-called “free-free” state of the airplane, as if the airplane had actually been in free flight during the ground vibration tests.

  • Patent number: 8083078
Abstract: A vibration-assisted ejection cassette includes: outer plates 11 which align PTP-packaged drugs 20 for storage; a top frame 12 which is provided above an open front and which prevents accommodated drugs from being falling forward; an inner plate 13 which carries the accommodated drugs and advances the drugs when vibrated; and a vibrating member 15 which vibrates the inner plate 13. Thereby, vibration is exploited to maintain the drugs 20 in alignment with each other, advance the drugs while maintaining the drugs in alignment and eject them one by one. Additionally, a retention member 18 for retaining an ejected drug is provided in front of the open front. A control circuit 17 activates or stops activating the vibrating member 15 in accordance with whether or not an ejection detecting member detects that a drug is being retained. In this way, it is ensured that drugs are either manually picked up one by one or ejected by an automatic mechanism in an equally easy and stable manner.
