  • Patent number: 7882379
Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for reducing power consumption by decreasing operating frequencies of waiting processors in a multiprocessor system. Power consumption may be reduced by having a processor enter a low frequency mode when the processor is in a loop waiting for data that have been locked by another processor. The frequency of operation of the waiting processor may be reduced to a fraction (one half, one quarter, etc.) of the normal, initial clock frequency. The multiprocessor system may monitor a number of times (loop count) that a waiting processor takes the wait loop and compare the number to a threshold. When the loop count is greater than or equal to the threshold, the clock frequency of the waiting processor is reduced. When the waiting processor ceases to wait and does not take the wait loop branch (e.g.

  • Patent number: 7864184
Abstract: Provided is an image processing device for outputting a graphic image drawn into a frame memory after saving the image in a display memory. The image processing device is provided with a save processing section for saving frame data representing a predetermined image from a graphic memory in which the frame data is stored to a display memory, and an output interface for outputting the frame data saved in the display memory by transforming the frame data into a video output signal. The save processing section saves the frame data from the graphic memory to the display memory in equally divided units (partial data units). The partial data units of the frame data are outputted from the display memory.

  • Patent number: 7856884
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved method for a ground vibration test (so-called “ground vibration test”) on an airplane. In the method according to the invention, the airplane is jacked up essentially undamped (“rigidly”) in conventional holding points with lifting devices. For purposes of the ground vibration test, the airplane is then excited to vibrate in a known manner using a plurality of vibration exciters, and the vibrations are acquired with a plurality of measuring transducers, in particular accelerometers. A dynamic vibration model of the airplane theoretically calculated beforehand can here be adjusted. The boundary conditions are removed during or after the ground vibration test, meaning the influence of the lifting device is “mathematically canceled out”, so that the determined measured values reflect the so-called “free-free” state of the airplane, as if the airplane had actually been in free flight during the ground vibration tests.

  • Patent number: 7839573
Abstract: A device for the homogenization of radiation, preferably light, using chirped microlens arrays (cMLA) from the established regular microlens arrays (rMLA), chirped microlens arrays are an arrangement of non-identical lenses in one array. Non-identical means that the lens parameters of the lenses of the array, such as e.g. the radius of curvature, the free diameter, vertex position, and others, can vary from lens to lens or cell to cell. The parameters of each lens or cell can be determined by functions (analytically, numerically), the functions preferably being dependent upon the position of the cell or the lens in the array.

  • Patent number: 7831842
Abstract: A heat generation amount estimation unit acquires the number of sub processors currently in operation, acquires the current operating frequency, and estimates the amount of heat generation after a period ?t. A temperature control unit estimates the temperature after the period ?t based on the current temperature input from a temperature sensor and the amount of heat generation estimated, and compares it with a predetermined threshold temperature. If the predetermined threshold temperature is reached, the temperature control unit acquires the number of sub processors available in parallel after the period ?t from a task management unit, and consults a performance table to determine which operation point to shift to. A sub processor control unit and a frequency control unit switch to the number of sub processors in operation and the operating frequency accordingly. The performance table lists possible operation points in order of performance.

  • Patent number: 7823219
Abstract: A device and method for alleviating pressure on a portion of a patient's body that may be bed-ridden or otherwise constrained for long periods of time. A position of the mechanism is based upon a location or distribution of angiosomes in the body portion. The mechanism includes a pump, and a portable garment with inflatable channels and pressure relievers. The channels provide varying pressure on the body portion, a maximum pressure being set at a level sufficient for treating or preventing decubitus ulcer formation on the body portion. The channels are positioned based upon angiosome distribution in the portion of the body. The pressure relievers protect tissue on bony prominences from excess pressure.

  • Patent number: 7818162
Abstract: An information processing device is provided for realizing the interpreter method emulation by using a processor having a performance requested for the compile method emulation. In one embodiment, an information processing device includes a host processor 1 for executing predetermined processing and a coprocessor 2 for executing emulation in accordance with a direction from the host processor 1. The coprocessor 2 determines whether the processing to be executed in accordance with emulation is executable by the coprocessor 2 when execution of emulation is directed from the host processor 1. The coprocessor 2 executes the processing when the processing is executable by the coprocessor 2 but leaves execution of the processing to the host processor 1 when the processing is not executable by the coprocessor 2.
