  • Patent number: 5207576
Abstract: A dental laser assembly having a housing with a first and second laser cavity. The housing also includes an optical output port and a dental optical delivery system optically connected to the port. A first laser is contained within a first laser cavity which, when activated, generates a first laser beam while, similarly, a second laser is contained within a second laser cavity which, when activated, generates a second laser beam. Only one laser, however, is activated at a given time and the output beam from the activated laser is directed to the optical output port in the housing for use in dental applications. The first laser has optical qualities sufficient to perform a first set of dental procedures while the second laser has optical qualities sufficient to perform a second and different set of dental procedures.

  • Patent number: 5206573
Abstract: A starting control circuit is provided for use with a mechanical duty single phase alternating current motor having a start winding and a main or run winding. Both the main and start windings are electrically connected to the alternating current source during the initial starting of the motor. Transducers detect the current phase of both the start and main winding and comparators then compare these current phases together. A comparator generates a pulsed output signal when the phase of the start winding lags the phase of the main winding and this pulsed output signal has a pulse width proportional to the magnitude of the phase lag between the start and main windings. These pulsed output signals are integrated and a electronic switch is activated to disconnect the start winding from the power source whenever the integrated pulsed output signals exceed a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5197317
Abstract: A process and machine for automatically matching at least two substantially cylindrical surfaces for engaging each other, particularly for the purpose of mechanical embossment engraving. The ranges of freedom of a conventional machine are mechanized and subjected to an electronic control, providing a hardware structure driven by software. The software controls the starting, repetitive and final steps, automatically complying with spacing and timing. The operator's action is needed only for loading of the roll to be worked, setting the inherent knurling tool, setting the starting positioning, and starting the cycle, as well as, for removing the unfinished roll for the corrosion steps and of course for final unloading.

  • Patent number: 5193692
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recyclable dunnage support assembly. The dunnage support assembly includes a dunnage support member which is secured to a frame. The dunnage support member includes at least one surface which is adapted to engage and support dunnage for shipment. Each dunnage support member, furthermore, is formed from pulverized automative tire fragments which are held together by a binder. When use of the dunnage support is no longer necessary, the dunnage support member can be repulverized into fragments which are then reconstituted together with a binder to form a new and different dunnage support assembly. As such, the dunnage support member is recyclable virtually indefinitely.

  • Patent number: 5191228
Abstract: An antitheft device is provided for use in conjunction with a vehicle having an engine, an electrical system with an electrical starter, and a battery. The antitheft device includes a conventional alarm system which detects an unauthorized attempt to enter or start the vehicle motor and which generates an output signal representative thereof. A normally closed switch is connected in series between the battery and the vehicle electrical system. A switch actuator circuit is electrically connected to the alarm system and, upon receipt of an alarm signal from the alarm system, actuates the switch to the open position thereby disconnecting the vehicle battery from the engine starter and preventing unauthorized vehicle ignition. The switch actuator circuit also includes circuitry which detects an engine running condition which prevents actuation of the switch at any time that the engine is operating.

  • Patent number: 5181447
Abstract: An adjustable protecting guard apparatus for a table saw having a guard positionable over the saw blade. The adjustable protection guard apparatus has a telescoping arm extending from one end of the saw table which supports a guard superstructure. A hinged connection on an edge of the guard superstructure permits the guard superstructure and the attached guard to pivot up and away from the saw blade. A control module simultaneously deactivates the motor rotating the saw blade with the pivoting of the guard superstructure. The control module has a multi-position key switch having a by-pass position permitting pivoting of the guard without de-energizing the motor. This permits difficult cuts to be made which would not be feasible with the guard in place. An anti-kickback pawl is also provided within the guard and prevents the saw from rejecting a workpiece in a direction opposite to its feed direction.
