  • Patent number: 7067032
Abstract: A tubular coupling element for producing a glued joint with a fluid line and a method for producing such a glued joint. The coupling element includes an inner tube that is insertable into a fluid line and an outer tube that is constructed concentric to the inner tube and integrally connected to the rear end of the inner tube by a connecting wall. An annular gap is present between the two tubes and is designed to receive an end section of the fluid line and a hot-melt type adhesive in a compacted solid form shaped as a ring. A connection between the coupling element and the fluid lines can be easily established by first introducing the adhesive in the annular gap and then melting it by rapidly supplying heat while the end section of the fluid line is pressed into the annular gap of the coupling element.

  • Patent number: 7059387
Abstract: A liquid receptacle for rapidly lowering the temperature of a liquid contained therein to a warm range suitable for human contact and maintaining the liquid in the warm range for an extended period of time includes an inner vessel with an open upper end and a closed lower end and a wall connecting the upper and lower end. An insulated outer shell is spaced from the inner vessel to define an interstitial chamber between the inner vessel and the outer shell. A phase change material occupies the chamber and regeneratively absorbs thermal energy from the liquid to cool the liquid and then releases the thermal energy back to the liquid to maintain the temperature of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 7060337
Abstract: An adhesive roller for detritus removal having a tubular cylindrical adhesive roll formed by a plurality of overlapping spiral wound layers. Each layer has a backing substrate and an adhesive coating on an outwardly facing side of the sheet. A cover is removably disposed around and has an inner side in contact with the outermost layer of the adhesive roll. The cover has an adhesive release coating on its inner side to reduce adhesion between the cover and the outermost layer of the adhesive roll and two longitudinally extending edges positioned closely adjacent each other when the cover is disposed around the roll. The cover is formed by overlapping spiral wound strips. Additionally, a longitudinally extending adhesive retainer strip overlies the edges of the cover to detachably secure the covers together. A pull-tab is adhesively attached to one side of the retainer strip which enables the cover to be repeatedly removed from and reattached to the adhesive roll.

  • Patent number: 7051566
Abstract: A hemming method for performing a 180 degree hem between an inner panel and outer metal panel. A curvilinear prehemming tool is then moved in a direction substantially parallel to the plane of the inner and outer panels so that the prehemming tool contacts a protruding coupon on the outer panel and creates a bend line in the coupon at a position spaced outwardly from the outer edge of the inner panel. Thereafter, a final hemming tool moves relative to the panels in a direction substantially parallel to the original plane of the inner and outer panels. This final hemming tool includes a first curvilinear surface which initially contacts the coupon and rolls the coupon such that the edge of the coupon contacts the inner panel. Thereafter, a generally planar wedge section of the final hemming tool contacts the coupon and compresses the coupon against the inner panel thus completing the hemming operation.

  • Patent number: 7053331
Abstract: According to a first embodiment of the method, the stud holder is first positioned without a part to be welded at a certain distance from the tool surface. A part to be welded is then provided. When the welding axle moves towards the workpiece, the path that needs to be travelled in order to bring the part to be welded and the workpiece into contact is detected. Conclusions regarding the presence or absence of a part to be welded are then drawn, based on the previous distance between the stud holder and the workpiece and the path travelled. According to another embodiment, the stud holder is moved towards the workpiece with a part to be welded until contact is detected. If, after contact is detected, further movement of the welding axle is possible as a result of the part to be welded being pushed into the stud holder, this is interpreted as an indication of the presence of a part to be welded.
