  • Patent number: 6595159
Abstract: A bag sifting system, for use with a cat litter box in separating waste products and clumped litter from uncontaminated litter, using a plurality of bags which are extended over the litter box before the litter box is filled with litter. As the litter becomes partially soiled, an uppermost of the bags is lifted from the litter box. Each bag has a sifting region having a plurality of sifting holes which allow uncontaminated litter to fall onto the remaining bags in the litter box below. The waste products and clumped litter, being too large to fall through the sifting holes, remains in the bag. The bag has a non-sifting region without holes, such that the bag is then tilted and rotated so that the waste products and clumped litter fall into the non-sifting region, and are contained therein for disposal.

  • Patent number: 6595089
Abstract: A ratcheting adjustable wrench, having a handle assembly and a head assembly. The handle assembly is pivotally attached to the head assembly. The head assembly includes a fixed jaw and a movable jaw which together may engage a nut. An opening, having an opening top and an opening bottom extends laterally through the fixed jaw. A shaft spans the opening from the opening top to the opening bottom. A rack having teeth is rigidly attached to the movable jaw. A worm gear is slidably mounted on the shaft, which is attached to the fixed jaw and engages the rack. The handle has a contact point which selectively urges the worm gear against the opening top of the fixed jaw to maintain the position of the fixed jaw with respect to the movable jaw to torque the nut.

  • Patent number: 6585522
Abstract: A fabric selection system, for allowing a user to visualize an item as if it were fabricated using any of numerous selected fabric samples, comprising a carrier. A graphic representation of the item is imprinted on the carrier, having object lines which include an outline and object lines which depict interior details of the item. The object lines are silver metallic in color and may be heat transferred using metal foil and a die in the shape of the object lines. The outline defines a window which is transparent so that when the carrier is held over one of the selected fabric samples, the selected fabric sample may be viewed through the window so that the item can be visualized in conjunction with that fabric sample. The carrier has a background area outside of the outline which is less than transparent so as to at least partially obscure the selected fabric sample so that the user can focus upon the selected fabric sample in conjunction with the item.

  • Patent number: 6584626
Abstract: A patient transfer device for aiding in the comfortable and easy transfer of incapacitated persons from a bed to a gurney, or vice versa. The transfer device has a stationary board having a number of roller assemblies, and a movable board having a number of channels for accommodating the roller assemblies. When the movable board is mounted on top of the stationary board, the roller assemblies allow the movable board to slide thereover. Each roller assembly has a column of balls secured within a track. Dividers extend horizontally between the side walls, adjacent to the balls, to prevent the balls from sliding within the track. The movable board channels are interlocked with the tracks. This configuration prevents the movable board from lifting upward, off of the stationary board while in use.

  • Patent number: 6575324
Abstract: A carbonated canned beverage sealing device including a cover member having a circular member for positioning over an upper end of a beverage can. The cover member has an O-ring positionable inside the can rolled lip to effect a seal therewith. The circular ring has radial apertures each having rivets slidably disposed therein to abut the can below the rolled lip. A cap portion has a periphery for positioning over the cover member. Radially disposed tab housings extend outwardly and downwardly from the cap periphery in a spaced relationship corresponding with the rivets. Each tab housing has a hollow opening for receiving a rivet whereby the openings are positioned over the rivets. The cap portion-is rotated so that the rivets are pushed inwardly against the can below the can rolled lip to hold and effect a seal between the O-ring and the upper end of the carbonated beverage can.

  • Patent number: 6575903
Abstract: An alarm and data logging apparatus for reminding, encouraging, and electronically recording results of regularly scheduled preferably monthly breast self-examinations (BSEs). The apparatus includes a computer with a calendar/clock circuit or equivalent software functions, along with a human-interface. The computer is configured for determining via the calendar/clock when a pre-defined alarm time and date has been reached. An alarm is issued in a repeating yet reasonable fashion until the woman to which the alarms are issued conducts a BSE and records the results of the BSE into the apparatus. The apparatus supports the archiving of results in a database of the computer or a database of a remote computer located at a remote location.
