  • Patent number: 7930830
Abstract: An improved scraping tool with a retractable safety guard, for removing debris and dirt from glass, tile and the like. The scraping tool comprises a housing formed of two separable housing portions and a guard member, and is adapted to securely retain a single- or double-edged blade between the housing portions. The separable housing portions are removably secured and held in sealed alignment by a plurality of securing elements, including a releasable housing lock mechanism. Within the housing, a scraping blade is held in a rigid, stationary position by a plurality of posts. A guard member, the ends of which form a pair of upper and lower blade shields, is positioned and secured in sliding engagement within the housing.

  • Patent number: 7924820
Abstract: An Internet-based system provides substantially instantaneous communication between two devices for exchanging voice and multimedia signals. The system includes ISP gateways with unique IDs that service a plurality of devices with unique telephone numbers. The system further includes a directory which correlates the devices with ISP gateways. More specifically, the directory includes a RELATIVE records/words/cells in a RANDOM ACCESS TABLE (RRAT) with each entry being identified by a record number, which in this case corresponds to the telephone numbers (as they are or in reverse). The entry relates directly or indirectly the telephone number with the respective ISP gateway. Communication is established by having the ISP gateway of the calling device looking up the ISP gateway of the called device in the directory using the telephone number of the called device.

  • Patent number: 7918957
Abstract: A method of making composite discs continuously, including forming for each disc a first, a second layer, and a third support layer, each support layer being disc shaped and having a first surface with information indicia. An information layer is added to each support layers respectively. The said first and third support layers are positioned in a facing relationship, with the first and third information layers being adjacent. The third support layer is then separated from the third information layer, which thus remains attached to the first support layer. The first and second support layers are then joined. These steps are performed on a manufacturing line with conveyor belts transferring the support layers from station to station.

  • Patent number: 7913564
Abstract: An ultrasonic scanner includes an assembly mounted within a housing and pivoting between two positions. The assembly includes an ultrasonic module that generates an ultrasonic beam directed at a target, such a tissue and detecting the corresponding return beam. A worm screw with a block contacting the assembly is used to selectively pivot the assembly to a desired position. The worm screw is driven by a DC motor and the position of the assembly is monitored using a proximity sensor, such as a Hall Effect Device. A hybrid controller receives analog signals from the Hall Effect Device converts them into corresponding sensor digital signals, and uses them as a feedback signal to an analog OP AMP driving the DC motor.

  • Patent number: 7904429
Abstract: System and method for detecting the inclusion of strings of words (records) in an input string of words. In a preparation phase, the records are pre-processed. Each record is represented by a string of chunks, each chunk composed of a pre-defined number of words. Each chunk found in at least one record is assigned a number of attributes, such as a “Begin of Record” attribute and an “End of Record” attribute. In the searching phase the input string is also divided in chunks, and for each input chunk, an Incremental Hash Function (IHF) is calculated for comparing with a prerecorded value ?I. If the two values IHF and ?I coincide for matching chunks with certain predefined attributes, a “probable match” is set, indicating a very high probability that a chunk was found in the records.
