    Abstract: A reliable micromirror device for imaging applications is presented. The device includes a projection lens assembly and an array of micromirrors for fast and efficient color separation and projection. Each of the micromirrors simultaneously receives a plurality of light beams. The position of a micromirror in the array of micromirrors is adjustable such that the micromirror selects one of the plurality of light beams to direct toward the projection lens assembly. Each micromirror also has an “off” position where none of the reflected light beams is directed toward the projection lens assembly. An image is formed when each of the micromirrors in the array either directs one of the light beams toward the projection lens assembly or is turned “off.” The device may include a total internal reflection prism assembly that separates the light beams for improved contrast.

    Abstract: A system for collecting and disposing of liquid medical waste includes a fluid collection cart and a draining and cleaning station. The fluid collection cart includes a pair of containers, each of which includes a draining port and a cap. Liquid level detectors also communicate with each container. The cart also includes a regulator so a low vacuum level may be pulled on one of the containers while a full vacuum level is pulled on the other container. Fluids are collected in the containers via suction tubes connected to the patient ports. The flushing and drain ports of the containers are connected to corresponding flushing and drain connectors on the station when the containers are full so that they may be drained and flushed. The cart liquid level detectors communicate with the station microprocessor so that the draining and flushing cycles may be properly sequenced.

    Abstract: A gas stream with a reduced oxygen concentration relative to ambient air is used to vaporize a liquid fuel or liquified higher hydrocarbon gas, or is mixed with a vaporized gas, and the reduced oxygen vaporized fuel gas is fed to a combustion device such as a premixed or diffusion combustor. Preferably, the oxygen content of the gas stream is less than the limiting oxygen index. By mixing the fuel with a gas stream that has an appropriately reduced oxygen content, auto-ignition prior to the flame front can be avoided. In some embodiments, the reduced oxygen stream is generated from an air separator or taken from the exhaust of the combustion device.

A control unit prevents the train from moving without an authorization that includes the train's current position.

    Abstract: A method of preparing a potassium monopersulfate composition is presented, wherein the potassium monopersulfate composition has the formula (KHSO5)x(KHSO4)y(K2SO4)z, where x+y+z=1 and x=0.46–0.64, y=0.15–0.37, and z=0.15–0.37, said potassium monopersulfate composition having an active oxygen content greater than or equal to 4.9 wt. % and K2S2O8 at a concentration of <0.5 wt. % of the potassium monopersulfate composition. The method includes reacting an H2O2 solution containing at least 70 wt. % H2O2 with a H2SO4 solution at a substoichiometric ratio of the H2SO4 to H2O2 to generate a weak Caro's acid solution, then combining the weak Caro's acid solution with oleum to produce a rich Caro's acid solution. The rich Caro's acid solution may be combined with an alkali potassium compound to produce the potassium monopersulfate composition. During the process, the temperature is maintained at below 30 ° C.
