  • Patent number: 7246909
Abstract: In a method for the production of a facetted mirror 24 having a plurality of mirror facets 12 and 12?, which have mirror surfaces 15 and are fitted into reception bores 22, 22? of a support plate 16, the mirror facets 12, 12? are made in a first method step. At least one of the mirror facets is fitted into the associated reception bore of the support plate in a second method step, after which the ACTUAL position of the optical axis of at least one mirror surface of an associated mirror facet 12, 12? fitted into the support plate is respectively determined in a third step and compared with a SET position of a predetermined optical axis. Knowing the measured values determined for the at least one mirror facet 12, 12? in the third method step, reprocessing of the mirror facet and/or of the reception bore is subsequently carried out in a further method step if there is an angular deviation between the ACTUAL position and the SET position.

  • Patent number: 7180264
Abstract: A micro-generator for providing electrical power to a battery charger capable of charging lithium ion, lithium polymer and other rechargeable batteries of the type which power portable electronic devices and MEMS. The micro-generator includes a micro-combustor and a thermoelectric module consisting of a number of quantum well thermoelectric panels connected between spaced heat spreaders, one of which is mounted in thermal communication with the micro-combustor. Different types of hydrocarbon fuel may be supplied to the micro-combustor where it is burned within a combustion chamber. The entire system is controlled in real time by a micro-controller which is powered upon start up by an ultra capacitor and thereafter by the electric power produced by the thermoelectric module.

  • Patent number: 7148459
Abstract: In a first exemplary embodiment of the invention, an externally and photonically energized unit comprises a shaped resonant cavity, with selected material for converting the incident photons into other electromagnetic radiation for resonance within the cavity; and a pick-up element for receiving and applying the resonant electromagnetic radiation to one or more components external to the resonant cavity. In a wideband modulation mode, the resonant cavity contains a modulation element to which a first information signal is applied. When photons, such as from an x-ray burst, traverse the resonant cavity, a wideband RF signal is generated within the resonant cavity which is modulated by the information signal. In further embodiments, the resonant cavities provide local power based on the remotely sourced photonic wave, as well as enhanced detectors.
