Abstract: In a contact for a connector, a metal material id processed to be bent in a predetermined shape in a manner so that a terminal portion is formed in the vicinity of an end and a contacting portion is formed in the vicinity of the other end. A nickel plating layer as a foundation plating layer and a gold plating layer are formed on substantially entire surface of the contact including the terminal portion and the contacting portion. Laser beams are irradiated at a portion between the terminal portion and the contacting portion, and especially in the vicinity of the terminal portion so that the nickel plating layer as the foundation plating layer is unsheathed by removing the gold plating layer or gold in the gold plating layer and nickel in the foundation layer are alloyed. Nickel and the alloy of nickel and gold respectively have low wetting property with respect to solder, so that diffusion of melted solder stops at the portion.
Abstract: In an electronic device test apparatus using image processing technology to position an IC device relative to a socket, a calibration method of an electronic device test apparatus of calibrating a relative position of a device camera with respect to a socket, the method comprising: calculating an offset amount of a socket guide with respect to the socket on the basis of a relative position of the socket camera with respect to the socket guide and a relative position of a socket camera with respect to the socket; and adding this offset amount to the relative position of the device camera with respect to the socket guide so as to calculate the relative position of the device camera with respect to the socket.
Abstract: A spectrum modifying method and the like wherein the efficiencies of the signal estimation and prediction can be improved and the spectrum can be more efficiently encoded. According to this method, the pitch period is calculated from an original signal, which serves as a reference signal, and then a basic pitch frequency (f0) is calculated. Thereafter, the spectrum of a target signal, which is a target of spectrum modification, is divided into a plurality of partitions. It is specified here that the width of each partition be the basic pitch frequency. Then, the spectra of bands are interleaved such that a plurality of peaks having similar amplitudes are unified into a group. The basic pitch frequency is used as an interleave pitch.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a rechargeable lithium ion battery having an electrode plate with a high active material density and high electrolyte permeability. Upon producing the rechargeable lithium ion battery, hollow resin particles that can be collapsed by rolling are incorporated in a positive electrode mixture layer or a negative electrode mixture layer before the electrode mixture layer is rolled. The hollow resin particles are collapsed in the course of rolling the positive electrode mixture layer or the negative electrode mixture layer, so that the active material density can be easily increased. Further, the collapsed resin particles form unevenness on the surface of the electrode plate and also form open pores in the electrode plate, so that electrolyte permeability can be enhanced. As a result, the discharge capacity and rate characteristics of rechargeable lithium ion batteries can be increased.

Abstract: A method for treatment of HIV infection includes administering at least one anti-HIV drug, such as a reverse transcriptase inhibitor, to a patient in need of such treatment and administering an extract from inflammatory tissue inoculated with vaccinia virus to the patient following the administration of the at least one anti-HIV drug. The extract maintains suppressive action on HIV replication, even if the administration of the anti-HIV drug is terminated.

Abstract: Disclosed is a device for preventing withdrawing and inserting of a circuit breaker. The device for preventing withdrawing and inserting of a circuit breaker include: a lead screw is coupled between a carriage and a girder assembly and rotated by an external force to allow a breaker body to be closed or released while the carriage is moved with respect to a cradle, and a braking unit preventing the lead screw for operating when the girder assembly is released from the cradle. In an unstable state in which the girder assembly is not coupled to the cradle, a withdrawal handle is prevented from being inserted into the girder assembly. Therefore, an abnormal withdrawing operation can be prevented, and thus, various safety accidents, a contact resistance and temperature rise, damage to a device due to electrical breakdown can be prevented.
Abstract: An information medium evaluating method includes, in the following order: a recording process that records data onto a recordable information medium to be evaluated; a rubbing process that rubs a processing member against a data recording surface of the information medium; a reading process that reads the data from the information medium; and an evaluating process that evaluates the information medium based on a result of the reading process and evaluation standard data. During the rubbing process, the processing member is rubbed onto only part of a region in a circumferential direction of the information medium.

A second electrode is over the luminescent layer and extends from over the first electrode to over the auxiliary wire. The metal layer comprises a metal, wherein a difference of a work function value of the metal minus an absolute value of an energy level of a lowest unoccupied molecular orbit of the hole transport layer is at most approximately 0.5 eV.
Abstract: A display panel device includes: a luminescence element; a capacitor including first and second capacitor electrodes; a driver having a gate connected to the first capacitor electrode for allowing a drain current to flow through the luminescence element and a source connected to the second capacitor electrode; a first switch switchably interconnecting a data line and the first capacitor electrode for supplying a signal voltage to the capacitor; a second switch switchably interconnecting the drain of the driver and a power line; and a controller. The controller is configured to: turn ON the first switch while the second switch is ON to supply the signal voltage to the capacitor and flow a current between the source of the driver and the second capacitor electrode; and, after predetermined time period, turn OFF the second switch to cause non-conduction between the power line and the drain of the driver.
Abstract: An optical low-pass filter is disposed on a light-receiving surface of an imaging device. The filter has a light-transmitting substrate including at least one birefringent plate and an infrared-cut plate , a dust-proofing layer provided on a light-input surface of the light-transmitting substrate, and an infrared-cut coat layer provided between the dust-proofing layer and the light-transmitting substrate or on a light-output surface of the light-transmitting substrate. A surface of the dust-proofing layer contains fine roughness.

Abstract: A method of eddy-current flaw detexction where an exciting device and a receiving device are held in the vicinity of a conductor. An eddy current is generated in the conductor by a primary magnetic field generated by excitation, thereby generating a secondary magnetic field, wherein the state of the magnetic field is detected by the receiving device. The exciting device includes a coil and an iron core. The coil has a first current line and a second current line in which electric current flows in opposite directions. The iron core is gate-shaped in cross section and includes a first leg portion, a second leg portion, and a beam portion. The receiving device is disposed in a corner between the second leg portion and the conductor, on a side opposite the second current line on the outer side of the iron core.
Abstract: A rotationally extendable structure of a lens barrel includes a stationary ring; a rotational ring, supported by the stationary ring to move in an optical axis direction while rotating and includes a peripheral gear at the rear end thereof; and a rotational-ring drive gear. The rotational-ring drive gear includes a long gear portion, formed long enough to mesh with the peripheral gear over an entire moving range of the rotational ring, and a large-diameter gear portion at the rear end of the long gear portion. The rotational ring is provided in a rear end thereof with a large-diameter-gear accommodating recess. When the rotational ring is moved to a rearward movement extremity in the optical axis direction, the large-diameter gear portion enters into the large-diameter-gear accommodating recess so that the large-diameter gear portion coincides with the peripheral gear with respect to the optical axis direction.
