Abstract: A high frequency device for supplying a high frequency power to a load, the high frequency device includes: an oscillating unit that can vary an oscillation frequency; a high frequency power supplying unit that serves as a power source by amplifying an oscillation signal output from the oscillating unit for supplying the high frequency power to the load; a reflected-wave information calculating unit that calculates reflected wave information on a reflected wave power, and outputs the reflected wave information; a frequency control unit that controls the oscillation frequency of the oscillating unit so as to lower the reflected wave information; an impedance adjusting unit that is disposed at a downstream of the high frequency power supplying unit in a power supplying direction, and that has at least one variable reactance element which can be controlled; and an element control unit that controls the variable reactance element of the impedance adjusting unit so as to lower the reflected wave information.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing of traces of toxic substances from exhaust gas, comprising, disposed in sequence from the upstream side in a flow channel of exhaust gas emitted from combustion equipment, a denitration unit including a denitration catalyst layer capable of removing nitrogen oxides from the exhaust gas and capable of oxidizing metallic mercury; an air preheater adapted for heat exchange between air for combustion in the combustion equipment and the exhaust gas; a dust removal unit having a bag filter containing a catalyst for metallic mercury oxidation; and a desulfurization unit for removing sulfur oxide from the exhaust gas. The bag filter may be disposed in advance of the desulfurization unit. Thus, there can be provided an apparatus for removing of traces of toxic substances from exhaust gas that is stable over a prolonged period of time and is highly reliable; and provided a method of operating the same.
Abstract: A clutch mechanism for a vehicle seat is provided. The clutch mechanism includes a pressure-receiving member rotatably assembled to a frame of a seatback of the vehicle seat, a connecting arm having a weight and a pin, and provided rotatably to the pressure-receiving member, and a swinging member provided rotatably to the frame, and including a rib which is formed with a cutout capable of receiving the pin. While inertia force occurring due to a crash of a vehicle from behind acts on the weight, when the pressure-receiving member rotates upon receipt of a seatback load of a passenger of the vehicle seat, the connecting arm moves along with the rotation of the pressure-receiving member so that the pin of the connecting arm pushes either one of an edge of the rib and a cutout of the rib while entering the cutout, to rotate the swinging member.
Abstract: The present invention provides a cleaning blade for an electrophotographic device, which, even when spherical (perfectly spherical or irregularly shaped), polymerized toner with a small particle diameter is used, can achieve sufficient abrasion resistance and sufficient cleaning ability (particularly cleaning ability under low-temperature and low-humidity conditions). The cleaning blade for an electrophotographic device includes an elastic rubber member; and a supporting member. The elastic rubber member has a double layer structure including an edge layer and a base layer. The edge layer is made of a material with a JIS-A hardness of 65° to 72° at 23° C. and a rebound resilience of 10 to 35%. The base layer is made of a material with a JIS-A hardness of 70° to 80° at 23° C. and a rebound resilience of 40 to 70%, the JIS-A hardness value being larger than the value of hardness of the edge layer.
Abstract: The invention refers to the fields of chemistry and mechanical engineering, relates to a permanent coating, which have a functionalization of the surfaces for the avoidance or reduction of ice growth on this surface. The object of the present solution is to disclose a permanent coating that is durable and reliably inhibits and/or prevents an icing of the surface. The object is attained through a permanent coating of surfaces for inhibiting and/or preventing icing down to ambient temperatures of ?10° C., in which the coating comprises polymers with main chains and side chains, wherein the polymer main chains are hydrophobic and the side chains are hydrophilic and the polymer main chains have entered into a chemical and/or chemically-coordinative and/or physical interaction with the surface to be coated and the side chains are arranged on the polymer main chain essentially in the direction away from the surface and at least do not permanently interact with one another.
Abstract: A system for limiting a range of motion of a handlebar including a support tube adapted to be fixed to a frame, a member adapted to connect a wheel fork to the handlebar, an upper bearing support mounted to an upper end of the support tube, a plastic lower bearing support mounted to a lower end of the support tube, the member being rotatably mounted to the support tube via the upper and lower bearing supports, and a movement limiting system limiting a range of rotational movement of the member and utilizing stop surfaces arranged on the lower bearing support.

Abstract: One embodiment of a representative system for web integrated interactive voice response includes an interactive voice response system adapted to provide a plurality of voice menus to a user over a telephone and a graphical user interface system adapted to provide a plurality of menus in a graphical format to the user over a network connection. Information provided in the voice menus corresponds to information provided in the menus in the graphical format and is responsive to commands received by the graphical user interface system from the user. Abstract: A cryptographic method for enhancing computation performance of a central processing unit involves the execution of a conversion function of the cryptographic method by the central processing unit. The conversion function computation requires the use of a plurality of substitution boxes. The method comprises the steps of: (A) detecting a processing bit length of the central processing unit; (B) generating at least one new substitution box from original substitution boxes according to the processing bit length and a bit permutation sequence, each of the at least one new substitution box containing a plurality of new substitution values whose bit length is equal to the processing bit length; and (C) using a bit expansion operation, a bitwise exclusive OR operation, the selection operations that use the at least one new substitution box generated in step (B), a plurality of bitwise AND operations, and at least one bitwise OR operation to conduct the conversion function computation.
Abstract: In order to provide method and apparatus for manufacturing a vitreous silica crucible with little mixing of foreign matter and stable arc during arc melting, the method and apparatus for manufacturing a vitreous silica crucible have a device which blows off air from the side of arc electrodes toward a melting space of a mold, and air discharge ports which discharge the air within the heating furnace, and perform forced supply of air into the melting space during melting to make the atmospheric pressure of the melting space higher than the surroundings, and preferably, form an air pressure difference of 100 Pa or more between the melting space and the surroundings, thereby performing melting.
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide antibodies capable of detecting an active TGF-? generation reaction that is specific to pathogenesis, tissues, or isoforms. The present invention provides antibodies against an LAP fragment (or latent TGF-?) generated as a result of generation of active form of human TGF-?1, human TGF-?2 and human TGF-?3. The antibodies are able to specifically recognize respective cutting edges within protease cleavage sites existing in the region from the amino acid residue glycine at position 51 to the amino acid residue arginine at position 110 of human TGF-?1, and corresponding regions of human TGF-?2 and human TGF-?3.

Abstract: Disclosed is an adaptive excitation vector quantization device capable of improving quantization accuracy of adaptive excitation vector quantization while suppressing increase of the calculation amount in CELP encoding which performs encoding in sub-frame units. An adaptive excitation vector generator cuts out an adaptive excitation vector of a frame length (n) from an adaptive excitation codebook. An impulse response matrix former forms a n×n impulse response matrix using impulse response matrixes of sub-frames inputted from a synthesis filter. A target vector generator adds a linear prediction residual vector of each sub-frame to form a target vector of frame length (n). An evaluation measure calculator calculates an evaluation measure of the adaptive excitation vector quantization by using the adaptive excitation vector, the impulse response matrix, and the target vector.
Abstract: Multiple characters in a video game can be displayed in a field so as to be easily distinguished, allowing the video game to proceed smoothly while maintaining realism. When an action content command and an action target character are received, a control section and a graphics processor carry out the control to display a target line for notifying the category of action in an action content specified by the action content command and a character that a player character specifies as the action target. In this way, by viewing an image in which a target line is in turn drawn from the player character to the target character, a player of the video game can quickly and easily recognize an action entity and an action target. This makes it possible to display the multiple characters in a field so as to be easily distinguished, and therefore, the video game can proceed smoothly while maintaining realism.
Abstract: A dental treatment observation system includes a photographing unit supported with a first auxiliary arm at a front end of a support arm extending from a stand and a stereoscopic display unit supported with a second auxiliary arm at the front end of the support arm. The stand allows the photographing unit and stereoscopic display unit together to be widely moved and the first and second auxiliary arms allow the units to be separately moved in optional directions. The system is appropriate for dental treatment and is capable of reducing fatigue of a dentist during treatment.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a vitreous silica crucible by a rotary mold method, which includes performing arc melting in a state in which electrodes are provided so as to be shifted from a mold central line, wherein, by this eccentric arc, the glass temperature difference during melting of a straight body portion, a curved portion and a bottom of the crucible is controlled to 300° C. or below and the thickness of a transparent layer of the straight body portion and the bottom is controlled to 70 to 120% of the thickness of a transparent layer of the curved portion.
