  • Patent number: 5013145
Abstract: Novelty eyeglasses having decorative lenses include a parallel double lens system rigidly mounted in a frame creating an enclosed space between the lenses which is filled with a flowable liquid. Ports through the frame into the space provide for easy filling and refilling of the liquid and introduction of other elements, including floatable and non-floatable decorative materials. The fluid may further contain a coloration or dye to provide the lenses with a translucent tint. The tint color may be easily changed by merely replacing the liquid with that of a different color.

  • Patent number: 5010798
Abstract: An anti-roll hand clip for handbells aids in the support of the handbell when resting on the playing table. The clip is a simple, wire device which attaches to the handle of the handbell and, more particularly, to the circular hand guard portion of the handle. The clip contains two feet which contact the table top providing a stable support. The clip is rotatable around the hand guards so that an angular position of the handbell handle with respect to the table top can be selected and maintained. The clip may be coated with an electrostatic powder coating of vinyl or the like to increase its non-slip quality and for abrasion resistence.

  • Patent number: 4968553
Abstract: A graphic glass laminate is created by heat-laminating a printed sheet of extruded polyurethane between two plates of glass, using normal autoclave process. The polyurethane interlayer bonds directly to the glass with very little distortion to the color or registration of the printed ink. The resulting composite is extremely strong and safe, having better structural and superior heat-resistant characteristics compared to regular safety glass and may contain an extremely artistic and decorative look. The interlayer graphics can be made "light-fast" when proper inks are used. Transparent and translucent inks may be employed and the glass may be used with different lighting techniques, such as edge-lighting.

  • Patent number: 4966304
Abstract: A roll coin dispenser is extremely narrow and occupies a vacant space between adjacent slot machines. The dispenser changes paper bills into coinage. Loading and access to all internal components of the changer are through the front of an enclosing cabinet which is unobstructed by adjacent slot machines. A coin storage section of the changer includes a multi-cartridge loading and dispensing mechanism in order to permit fast and accurate reloading of the machine by someone who is physically capable of lifting only small weights.

  • Patent number: 4932077
Abstract: A double-layer lap blanket is affixed to two leg extensions so that the medical garment assures full frontal coverage of the patent from his feet to his waist while seated in a wheelchair. Each leg extension contains an elongated pocket which is provided to receive the foot and lower half of the leg below the knee forming a legging. The entire lower half of the lower leg and both feet are therefore fully covered by this garment. Attachment of the leggings to the lap blanket provides a garment of unitary construction and secures the lap blanket from sliding off the wearer's lap.

  • Patent number: 4919616
Abstract: A unique dental spatula includes an angle head, and an elongate body having a plurality of lateral projections forming apertured posts for affixing and displaying color-shade samples. The spatula portion of the instrument has an angled head so that the instrument can be conveniently held for spatulation or for holding the color samples adjacent to the patient's teeth to visually determine the proper color match. The elongate handle portion of the present invention is made of a clear material so that it does not affect resin coloration and further includes a roughened front surface for retaining written indicia, which serves to denote the particular proportions of material used in a given sample.

  • Patent number: 4901509
Abstract: A vertical, substantially funnel-shaped feed chute attaches to the top of the mower deck of a rotary lawn mower. The bottom opening of the feed chute corresponds with an aperture in the mower deck. The rotary mower is further adapted by reversing a double-edged cutting blade to reverse the air flow characteristics from upward to downward. Garden debris for mulching is inserted into the mouth of the feed chute and is drawn into contact with the cutting blades by gravity and by the movement of air drawn down through the feed chute by the aerodynamic wing on the cutting blade.

  • Patent number: 4872605
Abstract: A solder tip includes a transfer slot having a shoulder portion for containing a connector pin during heating and soldering. The shape of the slot increases the surface area between the soldering iron and the body of the connector pin to speed heating and shoulder portion permits pressure to be applied to the end of the connector pin during soldering. The slot is further configured to facilitate a roll-off soldering method whereby the solder tip is rotated to lift the connector pin out of the slot after the solder has been applied.

  • Patent number: 4861300
Abstract: A recreational flotation device for swimmers, includes a central body-supporting loop and two or more flotation pontoons. All parts are substantially cylindrical having a circular cross-section throughout their lengths. Other anatomically-shaped flotation members may be added to the loop, such as a head and cervical support pontoon. The body-supporting loop is flexible and affixed to the flotation device through apertures along their axes. This construction provides this device with extreme flexibility and adaptability to the different body positions of the swimmer.

  • Patent number: 4856499
Abstract: A medical erection device to treat impotency in men provides a detachable pump portion and a safety valve to prevent over-depressurization. Cooperating guide rails permit the pump portion to be detachable from the vacuum cylinder. The pump has an extremely short stroke and is operated by a handle parallel to the axis of the vacuum cylinder to provide for easy, one-handed operation. A constrictor ring is provided to inhibit the return flow of blood from the penis to sustain the erection once achieved.

  • Patent number: 4853715
Abstract: A pen plotter employs a cable-driven carriage which carries the writing pen and includes a pen-lift mechanism. A shifting idler pulley system located at one side of the plotter returns a pair of drive cables from the opposite side of the carriage to a rotatable drive drum located on the opposite side. The idler pulleys are shiftable equally and in opposite directions toward and away from the pen carriage. One cable is connected to the carriage by being tensively trained about a pen-lift mechanism drive wheel on the carriage. Shifting the idler pulleys causes said drive wheel to rotate without affecting the lateral position of the pen carriage and, therefore, the shifter mechanism independently controls the up/down motion of the writing pen. One drive cable, therefore, accomplishes the functions of both pen carriage movement and writing pen up/down motion control.
