Abstract: A hidden display may be used in an apparatus to display information to a user. The display hardware is generally hidden within the apparatus and illuminated information appears on an outside surface of the apparatus to display the information. The hidden display may couple light into a display panel from the inside of the apparatus to provide the illuminated information on the outside surface of the display panel. The display panel may provide diffuse reflection of ambient light on the outside of the display panel such that the display hardware is not visible behind the display panel but without providing a mirror-like reflection. The display may be used in a variety of different apparatuses or devices including, but not limited to, clocks and clock audio devices.
Abstract: A sensor includes a shaft and a magnetic sensor and an anti-aging magnetic sensor. The shaft may have at least one magnetized active region. The magnetic sensor may be configured to sense a magnetic field about the shaft, and may provide an output representative of torque applied to the shaft, shaft rotational speed and/or shaft rotational position. The anti-aging magnetic sensor may be positioned adjacent the active region to provide a reference signal output that is substantially independent of torque applied to said shaft.
Abstract: An electro-mechanical actuator is provided resisting back driving of a gear train in at least one direction. The actuator includes an internal gear train. A clutch is coupled to an output of the gear train and transmits a driving force from the gear train to a clutch output. When a back driving force is applied to the clutch output in at least one direction, the clutch assumes a locked configuration. When the clutch is in a locked configuration the clutch resists rotational movement of the output and back driving of the gear train.

Abstract: A process apparatus and a mutual insurance method performed by the process apparatus are provided. The process apparatus is connected to a database storing a basic insurance group, receives a basic insurance application of an applicant, generates basic policy information of the applicant according to the basic insurance group and the basic insurance application and stores the basic policy information in the database. The process apparatus further calculates a current basic insurance premium of the applicant according to the basic policy information and a current death number corresponding to the basic insurance group. The process apparatus further transmits the current basic insurance premium to the applicant. Thereby, the process and security of the insurance are simplified and improved respectively.
Abstract: A non-volatile memory apparatus and a method for accessing the non-volatile memory apparatus are provided. The non-volatile memory apparatus comprises a management unit, a look-up table and a controller. The management unit comprises a plurality of data blocks and a plurality of spare blocks. The look-up table is adapted to record the read status of the management unit. The controller is configured to read the management unit and then generate the read status denoting the times that the management unit has been read to the look-up table, and to replace one of the data blocks by one of the spare blocks in response to the read status when the times that the management unit has been read exceeds a reference value.

Abstract: A dispensing device may include a main body including a wall having a dispensing mouth defined in the wall; a storage portion, wherein the storage portion is retained by the main body; and a conveyance path providing communication between the storage portion and the dispensing mouth. In addition, the dispensing device may include a conveyor disposed in the conveyance path; a drive motor mechanically coupled to the conveyor; and a sensor, wherein the sensor is directly or indirectly electrically coupled to the drive motor and the sensor is in optical communication with the environment proximate to the dispensing mouth.
Abstract: An access portal is provided including a housing, a body defining a fluid reservoir, and a septum enclosing the fluid reservoir. A stem in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir extends from the fluid reservoir. The access portal also includes a reservoir insert disposed within the fluid reservoir, in which the reservoir insert decreases the fluid fill volume of the reservoir.
Abstract: The invention relates to a cleaning method, and in particular, to a vacuum cleaning apparatus and a vacuum cleaning method thereof. A vacuum cleaning method comprising (a) positioning a dust receiver joined to one end of a vacuum suction device in the vicinity of the object of cleaning, (b) positioning a spray nozzle joined to one end of an air spray system adjacent to the object of cleaning, (c) operating the vacuum suction device, and (d) removing the foreign substances adhered to a surface of the object of cleaning by adjusting the pneumatic pressure of the air sprayed from the spray nozzle, may efficiently remove foreign substances adhered to the object of cleaning located in a narrow space.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an enriched fish food product comprising a binder resin and a fermented soy nutraceutical. Optionally the nutraceutical may contain enzymes or coenzymes. Also, the enriched fish food product may be formed by mixing a resin with the fermented soy nutraceutical in a heated molding machine and subjecting said product to a variety of size reduction processes. For example, the fish food product may be provided in the form of a flake.
Abstract: A kinetically modulated fan structure is provided. The fan structure comprises a housing, a plurality of blades and an equilibrating structure, wherein the equilibrating structure is disposed on the inner side of the housing, and formed integrally with the housing and the blades. Thereby, the fan structure is adapted to be kinetically equilibrated during the manufacturing process. As a result, the modulation of the kinetic equilibrium with respect to the fan structure is eliminated since all of the yielded fan structures are uniform in quality. The simplified production is both time efficient and cost efficient, while producing a durable product.
Abstract: An implant comprising a first, second, and third segment wherein the second and third segments partially overlap the first segment and define a load bearing surface comprising an anterior-posterior (AP) curvature including at least two tangential curves of the portion of the articular surface of the femoral condyle, the tangential curves having different radii of curvature. A drill guide comprises a body portion including a first, second and third bushing spaced along the body portion to establish a first, second and third axes, respectively. Each axis may be substantially normal to the articular surface at three different points along a curvature of the articular surface comprising the two tangential curves. A measuring device comprises a housing defining a longitudinally passageway and an outrigger. A guide pin may be received in the longitudinal passageway and a measuring device determines how far the guide pin is in the passageway.
Abstract: A distributed messaging system and method allows servers in a network to share data, such as network status data associated with all of the servers in the network. In one embodiment, the distributed messaging system and method may be used in element management system (EMS) servers in a distributed network management system (NMS). The servers in the network share the data in a distributed manner by transmitting messages including the network status data, for example, using a star/broadcast method or a circular message queue (CMQ) method.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a polishing pad including a chemical agent present in an amount sufficient to be released and dissolving into an aqueous abrasive particle polishing medium during chemical mechanical planarization and reducing abrasive particle agglomeration and a binder. The pad includes a surface such that as the pad is abraded the surface is renewed exposing at least a portion of the chemical agent.

Abstract: A device, comprising a monitoring slicer adapted to repeatedly sample an internal analog signal to provide a sequence of digital outputs indicating a result of a comparison of the level of the internal analog signal to a reference voltage and an operative unit adapted to perform a task of the device and provide a result without using digital outputs from the monitoring slicer.
Abstract: Incrementing sequence numbers in the metadata of non-volatile memory is used in the event of a resume from power fail to determine which data in the memory is current and valid, and which data is not. To reduce the amount of metadata space consumed by these sequence numbers, the numbers are permitted to be small enough to wrap around when the maximum value is reached. Two different techniques are disclosed to keep this wrap around condition from causing ambiguity in the relative values of the sequence numbers.

Abstract: A system and method for energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly recovery of bitumen aims at recovering unconventional oil in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way that has the potential of eliminating the need of natural gas currently employed for steam production and power generation. The system and method aims at providing low temperature steam for the stimulation of the formation by means of solar radiation. In addition, the system and method provides a novel solution for hydrogen production that does not employ reforming of natural gas. Furthermore, the use of thermoelectric devices in combination with low temperature steam can be employed to power an electrolysis plant to generate the hydrogen necessary to produce synthetic oil.
