Abstract: A method for producing back-foamed air-permeable textile products, whereas, instead of providing a film or the like to prevent the penetration of reaction products or foam to the visible face, the pressure created during the reaction is intentionally decreased so that none of the reaction products nor the foam created by the reaction of the reaction products is able to penetrate the textile product. With a product manufactured in this way, the climatic comfort is improved and a better acoustic effect can be achieved. The disclosure also relates to a device which is suitable for carrying out the method and to a corresponding back-foamed air-permeable textile product.
Abstract: A projection apparatus comprises a receiver, a processor, and a frame projector. A sensor detects a horizontal position of a user in front of a screen and transmits a horizontal position signal. The receiver receives the horizontal position signal. The processor generates an on screen display (OSD), and superimposes the OSD onto a projection frame. The frame projector projects the superimposed frame onto the screen. During projection, the OSD covers the face of the user.

Abstract: A system and method may be used to calculate insulin on board (IOB) for an extended bolus being delivered by an insulin infusion pump. In general, the system and method calculates an extended bolus IOB value for the extended bolus, which takes into account the insulin currently on board from the extended bolus and the insulin scheduled to be delivered by the extended bolus over a subsequent time period equivalent to a duration of insulin action. The extended bolus IOB value may be used to calculate a suggested bolus.

Abstract: A system and method for fault identification in optical communication networks. One or more repeaters in the system includes a loop back path that couples an output a first amplifier for amplifying signals carried in a first direction through a repeater to an input of a second amplifier for amplifying signals carried in a second direction through said repeater. Fault analysis is conducted using loop gain data associated with test signals transmitted on the first or second paths and returned on the opposite path through the loop back paths.
Abstract: This dry cleaning method for a plasma processing apparatus is a dry cleaning method for a plasma processing apparatus that includes: a vacuum container provided with a dielectric member; a planar electrode and a high-frequency antenna that are provided outside the dielectric member; and a high-frequency power source that supplies high-frequency power to both the high-frequency antenna and the planar electrode, to thereby introduce high-frequency power into the vacuum container via the dielectric member and produce an inductively-coupled plasma, the method comprising the steps of: introducing a gas including fluorine into the vacuum container and also introducing high-frequency power into the vacuum container from the high-frequency power source, to thereby produce an inductively-coupled plasma in the gas including fluorine; and by use of the inductively-coupled plasma, removing a product including at least one of a precious metal and a ferroelectric that is adhered to the dielectric member.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for the production of carbonaceous adsorption agents doped with elementary sulfur, in which sulfur is mixed with the adsorption agent, the mixture is heated to a temperature of between 120° C. and 150° C. and the temperature is maintained over a period of about an hour. The process is distinguished in that heating of the mixture is effected under a controlled oxygen-bearing atmosphere. The invention further concerns a process for waste gas cleaning using carbonaceous absorption agents doped with elementary sulfur. Preferably brown coal coke is used as the adsorption agent.

The indicator may include a plurality of layers wherein each of the layers includes a membrane. The indictor may also include indicia of the number of uses disposed between the layers. The membranes may breach upon the sterilization or use of the limited use device, wherein the device is exposed to a given environment, such as various gasses, steam, liquids, UV, plasma, etc. In addition, more than one membrane may be provided between each indicia, wherein each membrane may respond to a different environment.
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing bi-directional data services involving a plurality of wavelengths. The data services may be hybrid in nature, including both digital and analog data signals. The techniques may be implemented, for instance, in an optical module, and allow one or more wavelengths to pass-through while other wavelengths are terminated or otherwise diverted. In one example embodiment, the techniques are embodied in a quad-port optical module having two input/output (I/O) ports and pass-through capability for at least one of the wavelengths, add capability for at least one wavelength, and drop capability for at least one wavelength. The module may further include transmit and/or receive capability for one or more signal types. The module can be operatively coupled with a bidi device or other suitable transceiver, to provide modular transmit-receive capability for a desired signal type.
