Abstract: Disclosed is a receiver system, capable of receiving RF signals on television channels of multiple bandwidths. The receiver system includes a tuner, an analog IF filter, an ADC, a mixer module, one or more digital filters, an AGC module and a controller. The tuner converts an RF signal into an IF signal using a mixer frequency. The analog IF filter filters out a fixed band signal from the IF signal. The ADC module converts the fixed band signal into a digital signal, which is filtered by digital filters. The output of the digital filters is converted to a base band signal and the power level of the base band signal is controlled by the AGC module. The controller selects a mixer frequency from a group of mixer frequencies based on a function of power of the output of the AGC module by applying each mixer frequency to the tuner.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an animal chew including a resin and a method of direct injection molding the animal chew using a modified screw. The screw may incorporate, for example, additional flights or a larger transition zone. The formed resin may exhibit voids of about 1-100 ?m in diameter.
Abstract: The present invention relates to corrosion resistance coatings suitable for elevated temperature applications, which employ compositions of iron (Fe), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) and/or aluminum (Al). The compositions may be configured to regulate the diffusion of metals between a coating and a substrate, which may then influence coating performance, via the formation of an inter-diffusion barrier layer. The inter-diffusion barrier layer may comprise a face-centered cubic phase.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and polymers based upon vinyl type monomers that contain pendant carboxylic acid groups and ester group functionality. The polymers may be prepared under selected conditions of partial neutralization to provide relatively high conversions and/or relatively high values of molecular weight and/or selected amounts of repeating unit tacticity.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an animal chew including a resin and a method of direct injection molding the animal chew using a modified screw. The screw may incorporate, for example, additional flights or a larger transition zone. Additionally, the particle size of the resin may be less than 2000 microns.
Abstract: In some embodiments, the invention involves a system and method relating to system recovery in a fault resilient manner by isolating errors associated with the management engine (ME) UMA memory. BIOS logs errors occurring on memory within the system. The ME UMA is invisible to the host OS, so the OS will not be notified about the errors occurring in the ME UMA range. When an error threshold has been reached for a memory unit in which ME UMA resides, ME UMA data is migrated to a previously reserved backup region of memory and the ME is notified of the new ME UMA location. The faulty memory is flagged for replacement at a next maintenance cycle. Embodiments may be applied to workstations that utilize ECC memory protection which utilize AMT (Active Management Technology) and ME UMA. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A projection apparatus and a light guide module for use in the projection apparatus are provided. The projector apparatus comprises an illumination mechanism, at least one digital micromirror device (DMD), and a light guide module, wherein the light guide module includes a plurality of interfaces. The illumination mechanism provides a light beam which travels through the plurality of interfaces of the light guide module along a first axis without any rotation. The light beam orderly performs total internal reflections on each of the interfaces of the light guide module. Accordingly, the light beam travels to the at least one DMD, and then the light beam is reflected along a second axis.
Abstract: An overshoe that covers a footwear structure for protecting a walking surface. The overshoe includes a base and an upstanding portion, which extends around at least a portion of the base. A protrusion extends inwardly from an inner surface of the upstanding portion. The protrusion engages the footwear structure for releasably retaining the overshoe to the footwear structure.
Abstract: A method and system for handling a management interrupt, such as a system management interrupt (SMI) and/or a platform management interrupt (PMI), includes allocating two or more processor cores from a plurality of processor cores to form a group of management interrupt handling processor cores. Generated management interrupts are directed to this first group of processor cores and not to remaining processor cores, which form a second group. At least one of the processor cores in the first group handles the management interrupt without disrupting the current operation of the processor cores in the second group.
Abstract: A method, device and network for compressing cable modem data signals and conserving bandwidth within the network. Cable modems transmit upstream data signals to a fiber node which compresses the data signals and transmits the compressed signals upstream to a headend which decompresses the data signals. The fiber node compression may be by a shaping filter or a fast Fourier transform (FFT) function. The headend decompression may be by an inverse shaping filter or an inverse FFT function.
