  • Patent number: 5248616
Abstract: A method and apparatus are set forth for enhancing the concentration of oxides of nitrogen in the preferred embodiment. A permeable membrane is formed into a tube placed in a container. A sample containing bound nitrogen in placed in a container in contact with the tube. A carrier gas is swept through the tube in contact with the wall of the tube. This enables hydrophobic gases such as oxides of nitrogen to migrate through the wall of the tube and they are swept into a detection system. If desired, they can be permitted to accumulate in the wall for an interval and the carrier gas can be switched from off to on to achieve peak concentration for delivery to a bound nitrogen analytical device. Other hydrophobic gases such as oxides of sulfur can likewise be identified by sulfur analyzer. This enables an increase in trace concentration.

  • Patent number: 5236386
Abstract: A device for field dressing of game is set forth. It includes an upstanding central strap which connects at its lower end to a pivot means. The pivot means supports a left arm, and a duplicate right arm. They engage the hind legs of game for cleaning. In addition to the left and right arms, replicated components function as left arm and right arm braces connecting with said strap to define a rigid structure. On subsequent deployment of the braces, a pair of snips or a measuring device can be assembled. In the folded condition, the strap defines a collinear arrangement of the various arms.

  • Patent number: 5235133
Abstract: The present disclosure sets forth a telephonic equipment facility for field installation of equipment connected to telephone cables. It comprises a partially buried cabinet or container constructed of multi layered materials, defining a bottom having a sloping floor for draining water to a trough, upstanding sidewalls and a top or roof. In addition, above the bottom and protruding from one of the sidewalls, there is an extending cowling sized to define a door opening which is positioned above the support ground. At the opposite end of the structure, there is an appended cabinet portion having internally located frame members for support of cables extending through openings into the housing so that conductor pairs can be serviced. Equipment is placed in the interior supported on bottom mounted runners and upstanding frame members.

  • Patent number: 5231866
Abstract: An acoustic leak detection system comprises a sensor array, data acquisition unit, and computer analysis of detected leak signals. Sensors are arranged in a small array about the base of the storage tank and provide signals to the data acquisition module which are digitized and analyzed to compute spherical coordinates of detected signals for all permutations of sensor positions and signal arrival times for forming a vector indicative of the signal path.

  • Patent number: 5197834
Abstract: A machine tool vise is provided with a set of soft jaws. The soft jaws attach inside and against two master jaws. Both jaws of the vice are equipped with an alignment mechanism to position the soft jaws to assure repositioning. Each jaw is provided with a lenthwise slot which provides a registration face at right angles to an upright registration face at the master jaw. The soft jaw is provided with a bracket that registers on the two faces just mentioned to obtain precise repositioning in two dimensions. Positioning in the third dimension is accomplished by use of a registration pin joining the soft jaw to the master jaw, and a tapered set screw threading into a chamfered opening is used along with the pin to accomplish clamping, thereby assuring complete registration of the bracket holding the soft jaw in the vice. The soft jaws can be mounted, removed and later returned with assurances that the soft jaws are held at a fixed location with respect to the cutter and spindle supporting the cutter.
