Abstract: This invention relates to both concrete wall having a series of slanted deflection surfaces to spread the force of impacting vehicles, to buttress against earth forces, and to abate noises and to a method of constructing such a wall. The wall can be economically constructed from precast concrete elements which are adapted to be easily and rapidly stacked and joined in series to save on the cost of labor and materials. The wall is comprised of a series of panels which are stable and self-supporting when placed on a prepared foundation due to the Z-shape of the panels. Stable connection between the panels is provided by cast-in-place concrete, structural support columns. The legs of the Z-shaped panels form a stay-in-place form for the cast-in-place concrete when two Z-shaped panels are placed end to end. The cast-in-place concrete hardens and becomes integral structural support columns for the wall.

Abstract: A quadruped includes a base with four receiving holes, a supporting stick mounted on the base, and a quadripod detachably mounted to each receiving hole of the base.
Abstract: Applicant's invention is a stereotactic frame and localization method incorporating localization frames which is operable without the use of head pins or screws. Initially, using the localization frames, natural reference points, lines, and planes are established and aligned in relation to a patient's head. These natural references provide cranial landmarks for proper attachment and alignment of the stereotactic frame. This stereotactic frame includes a means for positioning and locking the frame as well a multiplicity of adjustable elements which are adjusted according to the determined values of the variables such that localization of a target point within a patient's head is possible.
Abstract: The device of the present invention is a bite block for use with endotracheally intubated patients. The bite block is generally U-shaped and made of a hard but pliable material. The termini of each of the legs of the "U" are wedge shaped, being thinner at the terminus of each leg. A curved rib connects the two legs. The combination of the wedge-shaped legs and the curved rib allow the interjaw compressive forces to be borne by the molars rather than the incisors or front teeth.
Abstract: A multi-ply, back and abdominal support belt having a generally elastic primary ply, a non-elastic, unyielding secondary ply, and a high tension elastic tertiary ply. The multi-ply belt is further provided with cooperation fasteners and securing elements to hold the elements in cooperative engagement. Reinforcing straps are further attached to the belt to control tension balances.
Abstract: A grip for a sculling oar having an elongated elastic tubular body with a truncated elliptical profile or shape. The tubular body has an open end for receiving an oar handle and an opposite closed end with a thumb depression contoured into the outer surface of the closed end. A plurality of contiguous finger grooves are formed circumferentially along the outer surface of the tubular body. The grooves extend diagonally across the elliptical portion of the body. An alignment mark is scribed on the truncated portion of the tubular body near the open end. The alignment mark is aligned with the convex face of the blade of the order to facilitate the rowing action.
Abstract: An exercise device comprising a housing with walls, a lever rod with a spring attached to one end, a movable fulcrum and a second end for attaching a device to couple the second end with the hand or arm of the user. Movement of the hand or arm will be transmitted through the movable fulcrum to the spring to provide resistance against which to exercise.
Abstract: A device for holding a laboratory cell well plate in a more accessible and visible position and for indicating which individual cell wells have been used or accessed during the experimental session. The device consists of an angled receiving face that supports and retains a cell well plate and an electronic array of detectors and indicators for identifying the use of specific cell wells on the cell well plate.

Abstract: A motor-driven door release mechanism for an electronic totalizer of a coin-receiving mechanism operatively associated with a newspaper vending machine. The motor is energized by a power supply acting through a totalizer control board and is disengaged upon rotation to a predetermined position by a rotor arm connected to the armature of the electric motor to disable the current line from the totalizer control board to the motor. Approximately simultaneously with disengaging the motor, a lift arm attached to the rotor arm releases the door latch control of the newspaper vending machine.
Abstract: Applicant's invention is a portable liquid dispensing apparatus used as a toy which sprays liquid from a liquid outlet port mounted to a headband which is worn by the user. The apparatus includes a carrier and at least one liquid storage reservoir. The carrier is secured to the user by a transport belt which passes through the carrier and around the midsection of the user. A reservoir tube connects each liquid storage reservoir to a directional flow valve and relay hose leading to the discharge chamber, providing a link between the liquid storage reservoirs and the liquid outlet port. An activation button engages a pump and a power source, driving liquid through the relay hose from a liquid storage reservoir to the discharge chamber and subsequently to and past the liquid outlet port.
Abstract: An instrument for determining the location of a channel and for creating a channel through bone tissue for suturing ligament, tendon, or muscle tissue to the bone during arthroscopic surgery, the instrument comprising a pair of compound levers (12) and (14) with handles (18a) and (18b) at a first end (24a) and (24b), a pair of semicircular pincers (36a) and (36b) comprising jaws at a second end (30a) and (30b). The jaws and body of the instrument (10) are inserted through a cannula and adjacent to the bone to be channeled. The jaws are opened to the desired separation, locating the end points (37a) and (37b) on the bone to be channeled and closing the jaws to create the channel.
Abstract: A method and apparatus to control the selective opening of one of a multiple of door accessible newspaper vending cabinets (6a-6e) through a single vend control mechanism (7). The method provides for signaling a selected door from a multiple of doors (18a-18e) to unlock when the proper total denomination of coins or monetary credits has been inserted into the vend control mechanism (7). The apparatus provides for an electronic coin totalizer (14) and/or a bill acceptor (16), and/or a debit/credit card acceptor (17), and a central processing unit (CPU) (10) to receive and process signals relating to total monies received into the vend control mechanism (7) and to selectively unlock one of a multiple of door-accessible cabinets (6a-6e), the cabinets containing different newspapers.
