Abstract: A wraparound type carrier package for a group of bottles which are arranged in a double row and in transversely aligned pairs, which package is formed by wrapping about the top, sides, ends and bottom of the bottles, a cut and scored blank of paperboard, or similar foldable sheet material, which blank is divided into top, side and bottom wall forming panels with the top and side wall panels having hinged end wall closure forming panels, which end closure forming panels have interengaging locking elements on their free margins, the latter being adapted, when the package is formed by wrapping the blank about a group of bottles and engaging the locking elements on their free margins and engaging the locking elements on the infolded end closure panels, to hold the latter in end closing position.

Abstract: An end closure arrangement for a paperboard carton includes a carrying handle construction in which a pair of handle forming panels are cut from overlapping end closure panels and strengthened by supplemental reinforcing panels which are cut from dust flaps underlying the closure panels and which are secured between the handle forming panels, with the latter adapted to hinge to upstanding relation relative to the closure panels for carrying the carton.

Abstract: A tray-type container for processing and marketing a loaf of bread, or the like, and a method of forming the same is disclosed, which tray is formed from a single blank of paperboard having a coating of a heat sealable and heat resistant film material so as to provide, when fully set-up, a rectangular bottom wall with hingedly connected upstanding sidewalls integrally connected at the corners by pairs of triangular web members folded upon each other and against the outside faces of opposite sidewalls where they are secured in reinforcing relation by narrow top edge flanges folded into underlying relation with and sealed to narrow flanges at the top edge of the sidewalls with the film material being skip-cut at the top edge of the sidewalls so as to reduce buckling in the sidewalls which otherwise results due to the difference in shrinkage of the film and the paperboard material.

Abstract: A multi-cell tray-type rectangular carton is disclosed which is formed in collapsed condition from a cut and scored blank of paperboard, or similar foldable sheet material, and which is adapted to be opened up into a tube with two rows of article receiving pockets in side by side relation and separated by a double thickness partition, with each row of pockets formed by depressing a cut and scored panel, which is taken from the top wall, and which is depressed so that a portion lies on the bottom wall with abutment forming edges which engage cooperating edges of panels hinged to the bottom edge of the double thickness partition and which hold the panel in cell forming position.

Abstract: A package for ice cream cones or similar articles of a fragile nature and like configuration in which the articles are disposed, in stacked and telescoped relation in an insert, formed of paperboard or similar material, which, when set up in the form of a tray to receive the cones, is adapted to be enclosed in an outer carton, and which includes spaced cross panel members for engaging the cones so as to form a cushioned restraint against axial movement and minimize the risk of breakage during handling of the package.

Abstract: An upwardly opening tray-like carrier carton is disclosed for packaging a plurality of articles having the general form of beverage bottles, which carrier is fabricated from a single blank of foldable sheet material and is cut and scored so as to divide it into integrally connected panels which are adapted to be folded together so as to form, when set-up, a partitioned carton structure comprising a double row of upwardly opening bottle receiving cells disposed on opposite sides of a central bottle separating partition and handle forming panel assembly and being characterized by an upstanding partition wall extending between the rows of cells on each side of the partition and handle forming assembly which is hinged at its opposite ends to pairs of foldable end wall panels so as to enable the cells on each side of said central partition and handle forming panel assembly to be collapsed, when empty, and to be folded into flattened relation against said partition and handle forming assembly.

Abstract: A rectangular tubular carton of foldable sheet material having a sealed end closure which comprises end closure panels hinged on oppositely disposed sidewalls, which are of a size to close the open end, with the innermost one having a narrow hinged panel on its free edge which is adhesively secured to the inside face of the outermost closure panel and folded into engagement with the innermost panel and hinged dust flaps on the other two sidewalls which are notched out along the one edge to accommodate the edge panel when it is folded back onto the innermost closure panel, the dust flaps being interposed between the closure panels. Abstract: A carton structure fabricated from a single blank of paperboard or similar foldable sheet material is characterized by a tubular body having hingedly connected sidewalls which are initially folded and connected in flattened relation, with panels at opposite ends of the blank overlying each other and constituting a body sidewall in which the outer wall panel has a tear tab arranged to be torn loose and hinged outwardly when the carton is set up so as to form a dispensing opening while the inner wall panel has an integral portion in which a hinged spout forming member is cut and positioned so that a portion thereof which is secured to the tear tab will be pulled into the dispensing opening and form therein a pouring spout upon outward movement of the tear tab. This application is a continuation-in-part of Ser. No. 824,351, filed Aug. 15, 1977, is now abandoned.

Abstract: A valve for an aerosol container, of the kind which is adapted to pass propellant into the container to pressurize the aerosol product, has a dip tube which is arranged to act as a diffuser. The propellant is thereby caused to enter the product as a large number of small bubbles rather than a much smaller number of larger bubbles. By thus improving the rate of solution of the propellant in the product the propellant charging times can be substantially reduced.
