Patent number: 7948082Abstract: Nanowire articles and methods of making the same are disclosed. A conductive article includes a plurality of inter-contacting nanowire segments that define a plurality of conductive pathways along the article. The nanowire segments may be semiconducting nanowires, metallic nanowires, nanotubes, single walled carbon nanotubes, multi-walled carbon nanotubes, or nanowires entangled with nanotubes. The various segments may have different lengths and may include segments having a length shorter than the length of the article. A strapping material may be positioned to contact a portion of the plurality of nanowire segments. The strapping material may be patterned to create the shape of a frame with an opening that exposes an area of the nanowire fabric. Such a strapping layer may also be used for making electrical contact to the nanowire fabric especially for electrical stitching to lower the overall resistance of the fabric.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2008Date of Patent: May 24, 2011Assignee: Nantero, Inc.Inventors: Brent M. Patent number: 7945434Abstract: A system and a method for capturing, storing and replaying data describing application of an event-based process to an event are described. As an event processing engine processes an input event, specified data is captured by a store monitor included in the event processing engine. Hence, while the event processing engine processes an input event, data describing the event processing is contemporaneously captured without affecting processing of the input event. The captured data is then stored for later access and can be used later simulate or analyze the event processing. In one embodiment, the stored data is also classified or grouped based on one or more grouping criteria (e.g., event type, timestamp) to simplify later access to the data.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2008Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Assignee: Progress Software CorporationInventors: Louis R. Patent number: 7944735Abstract: Random access memory including nanotube switching elements. A memory cell includes first and second nanotube switching elements and an electronic memory. Each nanotube switching element includes conductive terminals, a nanotube article and control circuitry capable of controllably form and unform an electrically conductive channel between the conductive terminals. The electronic memory is a volatile storage device capable of storing a logic state in response to electrical stimulus. In certain embodiment the electronic memory has cross-coupled first and second inverters in electrical communication with the first and second nanotube switching elements. The cell can operate as a normal electronic memory, or can operate in a shadow memory or store mode (e.g., when power is interrupted) to transfer the electronic memory state to the nanotube switching elements. The device may later be operated in a recall mode where the state of the nanotube switching elements may be transferred to the electronic memory.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2009Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Assignee: Nantero, Inc.Inventors: Claude L. Patent number: 7932176Abstract: An interconnect structure for integrated circuits incorporates manganese silicate and manganese silicon nitride layers that completely surrounds copper wires in integrated circuits and methods for making the same are provided. The manganese silicate forms a barrier against copper diffusing out of the wires, thereby protecting the insulator from premature breakdown, and protecting transistors from degradation by copper. The manganese silicate and manganese silicon nitride also promote strong adhesion between copper and insulators, thus preserving the mechanical integrity of the devices during manufacture and use. The strong adhesion at the copper-manganese silicate and manganese silicon nitride interfaces also protect against failure by electromigration of the copper during use of the devices. The manganese-containing sheath also protects the copper from corrosion by oxygen or water from its surroundings.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2009Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: President and Fellows of Harvard CollegeInventors: Roy Gerald Gordon, Hoon Kim
