  • Patent number: 4498583
Abstract: A diskette storage container is formed of molded plastic parts which are pivotally connected together. A substantially rectangular base member has upwardly rising side walls, and cams having cam apertures adjacent the side walls. A cover member is pivotally connected to the base so that the rear edge of the cover passes into the base and rests at a slightly obtuse angle against the cams. A diskette support member is pivotally mounted to said cover and includes camming surfaces which ride on said cams as the cover is rotated toward its open position. The pivotal connection is disposed rearwardly of the centroid of the diskette support member. A notch in said camming surface is positioned to engage the cams when the cover is fully opened. This allows the diskette support member to drop forward a predetermined distance which improves accessibility to the diskettes.

  • Patent number: 4496160
Abstract: A game apparatus has a cabinet defining a playing area, a plurality of coin slots, and a rotable, ribbed, drum beneath the slots for projecting an accepted can within the playing area. In a lower portion of the playing area are two shelves onto which projected coins may fall, the shelves being traversed by pusher bars which push collected coins towards the edge of the respective shelf. In an upper portion of the playing area are a plurality of baskets containing sensors actuated by a coin passing through a basket to secure a predetermined award. Suitably one of the baskets is movable.

  • Patent number: 4487344
Abstract: A pannier carrier (23, 23') for bicycles including a frame arrangeable substantially centered with respect to an associated bicycle wheel for supporting carrying bags (70). The frame is formed by a pair of mirror-image open frameworks (26, 26') disposed on respective sides of a turning fork (12) of an associated bicycle (10) for proper distribution of weight. Attachment of these frameworks (26, 26') to the turning fork (12) is accomplished for each of the frameworks (26, 26') by a connecting bracket (42) securable to an apertured lug (22) conventionally provided on each branch (16, 16') of a turning fork (12) of a bicycle (10) adjacent the point of attachment of the axle of the associated wheel (20), and by a standoff (60, 60') which space the frameworks from the associated branches (16, 16') to offset the slant of the turning fork branches. The frameworks (26, 26') can be spread apart and rigidified by a spreader bar ( 76) which can have an article support frame (92) provided at its top portion.

  • Patent number: 4478335
Abstract: A diskette storage container is formed of three molded plastic parts which are pivotally connected together. A substantially rectangular base member has upwardly rising side walls, a display operative in the bottom and cams adjacent the side walls. A cover member is pivotally connected to the base so that the rear edge of the cover passes into the base and rests at a slightly obtuse angle against the cams. A diskette support member is pivotally mounted to said cover and includes camming surfaces which ride on said cams as the cover is rotated toward its open position. A notch in said camming surface is positioned to engage the cams when the cover is fully opened. This allows the diskette support member to drop forward a predetermined distance which improves accumibility to the diskette.

  • Patent number: 4477003
Abstract: An apparatus (110) for dispensing condiments, and the like, has a gun (10) arrangeable for dispensing a measured amount of a condiment preloaded into the gun upon release of a trigger (60) of the gun following a previous dispensing action. Provision is made for keeping the condiment refrigerated throughout the system, which can be periodically cleaned in a simple and efficient manner that results in virtually no waste of the condiment or other substance being dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4477811
Abstract: An automatic minimum discernible signal level analyzer for evaluating the low signal level detecting capabilities of a pulse-type receiver and including an RF frequency source phase-locked to the radar transmitter frequency and capable of being adjusted in power output by circuitry which automatically measures the statistical noise content of the receiver video and adjusts the power output of the RF source so that the video signal meets preset values of probability of false alarm and probability of detection, the absolute RF power being then a direct measure of the minimum discernible signal sensitivity of the receiver under test.

  • Patent number: 4466629
Abstract: An improved bicycle headset is disclosed having ball bearing races sealed by O-rings against contamination by dust, dirt, moisture and the like. This bicycle headset includes a lower assembly comprising a lower cup fitted to the lower end of a head tube, a crown cone upon which the shoulder of a front fork bears, a lower ball bearing race positioned between the lower cup and the crown cone, and a lower O-ring seal mounted on the crown cone to isolate the lower ball bearing race from the external environment. Also included, is an upper headset assembly comprising an upper stationary cone fitted to the upper end of the head tube and an upper cup threadedly attached to the upper end of a fork tube. A weatherproof lock nut is tightened down against the top portion of said upper cup so as to lock the position of the upper cup on the fork tube about a handlebar stem, and seal the upper part thereof.

  • Patent number: 4449958
Abstract: An endless belt apparatus (10) which can be used in either a timing, driving, and/or load carrying system, has a generally cylindrical drive pulley (12) in the outer surface (22) of which is provided recesses for engaging with an associated belt (26) including a planar web (28) provided with projections (34, 34') arranged in a symmetrical matrix for positively engaging with the recesses of the pulley for tracking and/or advancing the belt. Similar recesses provided in the other pulleys of the system will permit the belt to rotate such pulleys as a function of the rotation of the drive pulley.

  • Patent number: 4448532
Abstract: A method and apparatus for receiving two sets of digitized scan data from two optical detectors which simultaneously scan two supposedly identical portions of a photomask for comparing the two sets of scan data to detect defects, and for evaluating the defect data to determine whether or not it represents real defect information or false defect information. Scan lines containing defect data are scanned twice to produce two sets of defect data and the two sets are then compared to produce a real defect data set including only defects detected in both scans. False defects are thus eliminated from the final data set.
