Patent number: 4032380Abstract: There is disclosed a method of insulating stripped conductor wire portions of a cable insulated with solid polymer material so that the insulation of the stripped wire portions is substantially equivalent to the insulation of the cable. According to this method a vulcanizable insulation tape is wound about the stripped wire portion so that a layer of insulation tape is formed which is substantially flush with the insulation of the cable and then elastic tape is tightly wound about this layer of insulation tape and adjacent portions of the insulation so that the elastic tape applies an inwardly directed form of compression upon the layer of insulation tape. Heat is thereupon applied to the layer of elastic tape and through this layer to the insulation tape at a temperature and for a period of time such that the insulation tape is vulcanized. Upon completion of the vulcanization, application of heat is terminated and the layer of elastic tape is removed.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1976Date of Patent: June 28, 1977Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M EricssonInventor: Gotthard Valentin Olsson

Patent number: 4019431Abstract: There is disclosed a method of dewatering sludge such as residuals in sewage discharge processing installations. The method provides that cakes are formed of the sludge. These cakes have initially a high water content and are of inhomogenous, loose consistency. They are guided between filter bands through a preliminary filtering zone in which some of the water contained in the cakes is extracted by straining and pressure action applied thereto. The filter bands with the cakes therebetween are then successively guided over a first dewatering drum and a subsequent second dewatering drum. Pressure is applied to the filter band while being guided about the drums, thereby extracting further water from the cakes. Additionally, the cakes while traveling from the feed-in point toward and through pressure zones are deformed and also turned over thereby compacting the cakes as water is extracted therefrom. Finally, the cakes after being sufficiently dewatered and compressed are discharged.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1974Date of Patent: April 26, 1977Assignee: Alb. Klein KGInventor: Wendel Bastgen

Patent number: 4004398Abstract: A firm container is fed with a plastic material which surrounds the firm container along a portion of its length. The firm container has an open end which is closed off by a pair of welding jaws which welds the plastic material together and forms the bottom of a container that holds a pulverized material. Pulverized material is then fed to the bottom of the container and after feeding is over, the plastic material is allowed to fall from the firm container by moving a support table downwardly. After the support table has moved downwardly a certain distance, the welding jaws are operated again and weld a new piece of plastic material to the open end of the firm container, thus forming a bottom for a new container and closing off the top of the previously-made container. A piston is provided within the firm container for compressing the pulverized material fed into the interior of the firm container.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1974Date of Patent: January 25, 1977Assignee: Aktiebolaget PlatmanufakturInventors: Lars Goran Larsson, Sture Ingemar Sundberg
