  • Patent number: 5707709
Abstract: In the process of defining quilted fabric, non-stretchable, stretchable and interior layers of materials are wound on separate rollers. Then the layers are positively fed from the rollers to a bi-directional acting sewing assembly wherein the non-stretchable layer is provided with zero elongation and the stretchable layer is provided with 25 to 300 percent stretch. Next, the arranged layers are sewn in sets of sinusoidal-like seam patterns. Finally the stretched layer is permitted to relax to a natural state wherein a series of puffs are formed in rows across the layer normal to stretch direction of the stretchable layer. Result: columns of puffs of even numbered rows are aligned with each other but are laterally offset with respect to puffs of odd numbered rows by a constant amount.

  • Patent number: 5510057
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and compositions useful for inhibiting corrosion of a corrodible metal resulting from contact of water and air with the metal. In this method, a stannous salt and a hydrocarbyl substituted succinimide of a polyethylene polyamine are added to the water in minor amounts and cooperatively reduce corrosion of the metal to a substantially zero rate. While the amount of each agent for an effective inhibition is minor, say in the range of from about 0.1 to 100 ppm, a relatively concentrated solution is required for addition to the water. Suitable solvent media include the lower alkanols and mixture thereof with or without added water. Isopropanol is preferred. The solvent component of the compositions also varies depending upon the particular imide and/or salt component employed and the concentration desired.

  • Patent number: 5469975
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, the L-shaped status bar is modified by the addition of a mount to form a status bar subassembly. In the subassembly, the mount is preferably slidably attached to the status bar by an inverted U-shaped clasp, such U-shaped clasp being open along one side to slidably attach about a vertically extending leg of the L-shaped status bar. Positioned above the U-shaped clasp is a upright U-shaped, indicia supporting frame. The frame includes a pair of side walls and an end wall. The frame is open along one side and attaches to the U-shaped clasp at an opposite common end wall. The cavity formed between the side and end walls of the frame is constructed to receive a card that contains written indicia wherein all data related to an addressee's (or addressees') change in status per slot. In that way, efficiency of service is greatly improved.

  • Patent number: 5437180
Abstract: Temperature of the gas stream entering the end user's internal piping system has been found to be fairly stable (at about 50 degree F.) but still variable while the temperature of the end user's internal piping system (irrespective of total length) has been found to vary as a function of the ambient temperature exterior of the end user's internal piping system. Each of such temperatures can be used in association with a differential pressure leakage detection system that uses a piezoresistive pressure sensor which measures differential pressures between the natural gas and ambient air both entering the sensor to provide a pair of output signals with the difference between these signals being related to the occurrence of small leakage of natural gas within the internal piping network of the end-user, such flow being normalized so that any such flow is due only to leakage.
