Abstract: This invention relates to an electronic device for the conversion of electric energy between a voltage source E and a current source J. This device is comprised of cascaded switching cells (CL.sub.k) each having two switches (I.sub.Ak, I.sub.Bk) and comprising capacitors (C.sub.k) associated with the cells for distributing the voltage of the source over the switches, and control logics (LG.sub.k) which condition the exchanges of energy and are synchronized for limiting the voltage supported by each switch to a fraction (V/n) of the supply voltage, for limiting the ripple amplitude of the voltage of the output to the same fraction V/n and for conferring on this ripple voltage a frequency (nF) which is a multiple of the switching frequency (F) of the switches.
Abstract: A device for anchoring rachidian instrumentation on a vertebra, comprising at least one support, a carrier for coupling the instrumentation to the support and a structure for anchoring the support with respect to the vertebra, the support having a convex face shaped to conform to and lie against at least one portion of the concave surface of the posterior arch of the vertebra on one side of the spinous process of the vertebral column, and the anchoring structure rigidly linking at least two distinct parts of the support to at least two correspondingly distinct portions of the vertebra.
Abstract: A fairing for aerodynamically covering the actuation mechanism of a variable area exhaust nozzle, comprising an upper and a lower longitudinally extending half-fairing member and having a generally arcuate cross-section, each of the half-fairing members having an upstream and a downstream end, and two longitudinal edges, the half-fairing members being pivotally connected to each other at a pivot point near the upstream edges and a connection along one of the longitudinal edges of each of said half-fairing members for interengaging the other of the half-fairing members and allowing the half-fairing members to rotate about the pivot point for changing the aerodynamic surface area of the fairing upon variation of the area of the exhaust nozzle.
