Abstract: Techniques are presented for repetition on both uplink and downlink Slow Associated Control Channel (SACCH) channels. For instance, an exemplary method is disclosed that is performed by a mobile node. The method includes receiving from a network node a first block of data over a downlink SACCH channel, and storing the first block of data. The method also includes, subsequent to receiving the first block of data, receiving from the network node a second block of data over the downlink SACCH channel. The method further includes attempting to decode the second block of data. The method additionally includes, in response to a failure in the attempt to decode the second block of data, combining into a combination the second block with the stored first block of data. The method also includes attempting to decode the combination.

Abstract: A method is disclosed to operate a wireless network (20) with a MS (100) and includes, in response to detecting that the MS has changed its location in the wireless network, registering the MS with a BS (45) to indicate the current location of the MS and, in response to the MS registering with the BS, triggering the sending of messages in the wireless network until information that is indicative of the current location of the MS is recorded by an AAA server (80). The AAA server can be subsequently queried to obtain the current location of the MS, such as when a network initiated data session (NIDS) for the MS is initiated. Also disclosed is a method to page a MS by, in response to the initiation of a NIDS for the MS, querying a home AAA server for a current BS/PCF/PDSN affiliation of the MS and sending a page message to the MS in accordance with the current BS/PCF/PDSN affiliation of the MS.

Abstract: According to the present invention a method and a system is provided for operating a storage area network (SAN) in a server environment in which multiple servers share one Fibre Channel adapter. A SAN Management Server manages regions in storage systems and security, a Fiber Channel Network provides a connection to storage devices, and a plurality of Operating System Images run in said server environment. Furthermore, a trusted SAN Management Client Unit is connected to said SAN Management Server and a Fiber Channel adapter is configured to authenticate said trusted SAN Management Client Unit, whereby the trusted SAN Management Client Unit is configured to issue commands in said Fiber Channel Network in place of each of said Operating System Images.

Abstract: A method is provided for handling a service of a predetermined type within a charging system comprising a server and a client. The method includes receiving, at the client, a request for the service of the predetermined type from a terminal, transmitting said request from the client to the server in a charging control request in which the service of the predetermined type is indicated, checking, at said server, whether the requested service of the predetermined type can be granted, and if granted, responding, by said server, with a control message to the client, and measuring, by the client, the usage of resources consumed by the granted service in response to said control message, and reporting the measured used resources for the service at a predetermined condition from the client to the server in a report message. Abstract: Circuit architecture is disclosed that includes one or more half bridges, the one or more half bridges including signal processing circuitry including first and second inputs and one or more outputs. Abstract: Disclosed is a minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalizer and method for single-user detection of a signal received from a downlink code-division multiple access CDMA channel. The equalizer includes a Kalman filter having an input coupled to the received signal for generating a best linear unbiased estimate of a transmitted chip sequence for a single user. A reduced computational complexity Kalman filter embodiment is also disclosed that only periodically updates a Kalman filter prediction error covariance matrix P(k|k?1), a Kalman filter filtering error covariance matrix P(k|k) and the Kalman gain K(k).
Abstract: A set of candidate global optima is identified, one of which is a global solution for making a mask for printing a lithographic pattern. A solution space is formed from dominant joint eigenvectors that is constrained for bright and dark areas of the printed pattern. The solution space is mapped to identify regions each containing at most one local minimum intensity. For each selected region, stepped intensity contours are generated for intensity of the dark areas and stepped constraint surfaces are generated for a target exposure dose at an individual test point. An individual test point is stepped toward a lowest intensity contour along the stepped constraint surfaces of each selected region. Further lowering of the intensities of these points is also detailed, where possible in adjacent regions, to yield final test points. The set of candidate global optima is the final test points at their respective lowest intensity contour of the respective selected regions.

Abstract: A method for forming a surfboard is provided. The method comprises adding a polyethylene mixture into a mold having one or more ventilation holes located therein. The polyethylene mixture comprises a blend of a polyethylene material and a foaming agent. The polyethylene material is in a form comprising at least one of a powder form, a pellet form and mixtures thereof. In addition, the method comprises heating the polyethylene mixture in the mold while rotating the mold for a pre-determined period of time and at a predetermined temperature. Further, the method also comprises cooling the mold for a predetermined amount of time, and wherein either a main body of a surfboard or an entire surfboard is then formed.
Abstract: A method is disclosed to obtain M final symbol decisions for signals received through N receive antennas that were transmitted in M parallel data layers, using a same spreading code from M transmit antennas. The method includes space-time equalizing the N received signals to generate M output signals from which at least inter-symbol interference is substantially removed and inter-layer interference is suppressed; despreading each of the M output signals for generating M soft symbol estimates; and processing the M soft symbol estimates to derive M final symbol decisions that are made in consideration of modeled residual inter-layer interference present in the space-time equalized M output signals. Processing includes operating a signal-plus-residual-interference (SPRI) detector that operates in accordance with a maximum likelihood (ML) technique, while space-time equalizing employs a linear minimum mean-square error (LMMSE) criterion.
